S2 Chapter 3 Rebels Start Coming

"Do you know that this rebellion is very dangerous, Ana?" ask Duchess Hillbright.

Ariana did not answer. He knew the answer from the beginning. Last night he got a letter from Duchess Hillbright. The duchess asked her to meet early in the morning before the attack.

"Did Mom and Dad know this?" ask the Duchess again.

"No, they don't know." Ariana nodded slowly.

The duchess took a long breath. "Once in a while you have to see Dad and Mom or at least give them some news. They are very worried about your situation" said the Duchess.

"Okay, Duchess." Ariana.

"Don't call me that when you're alone, Ana."

"Good-well"

Leonard appears to mediate between the two of them. "Hey, don't scold this priest about you being a Duchess."

Ariana looked at the Duchess and Leonard in turn. He felt hostility between the two of them.

"I don't know what your problem is, but stop being a bad hero if you don't know what it is."

"Yesterday I saved you but you're not grateful to me at all." 

"Without your help I can beat them all."

"Based on arrogant nobility."

"Stop, Leonard," Ariana said suddenly. He pulls Leonard away so as not to be exposed to the Duchess' anger. Leonard was still silent in his place, but because he did not want Ariana to be scolded again due to the mistakes of these mercenaries, Leonard finally followed suit.

After only the two of them Leonard began to make a sound. "What did the Duchess say to you?"

Ariana did not want to answer because her conversation with the Duchess was about her personal matters.

"If he does anything to you, just tell me. I will repay him" Leonard said confidently. Although the possibility of winning is still a little at least he can make Duchess Hilbright upset.

"It's not like you saw Leonard, don't be so prejudiced against the Duchess."

"You shouldn't defend him like that, Ariana."

"The Duchess is a good person. I hope you can see it" Ariana said with a smile.

Leonard is suddenly upset that Ariana continues to defend Duchess Hillbright. Maybe Ariana was threatened so she wouldn't tell the truth. That's what Leonard believed, even though his beliefs were wrong.

"Leon, it's time to get ready" Will called out to Leonard.

I don't think the time for gathering has come. People started to get up and prepare. Earlier, the rebels were said to have approached the border between the palace and Tris County. Today the rebels will reach the encampment of Duchess Hilbright's forces. Leonard turned to Will. "Good." 

"Thank you, Leonard." Ariana. He also returned to his tent.

Leonard approached Will. They headed for the tent to wear war gear. On the sidelines of changing clothes Will asked.

"Who was that girl?"

"Ariana, the priest who healed me while fighting the Duchess yesterday," Leonard replied while wearing a harness.

"Why did you meet him so early in the morning? Don't you like it? I can't believe your type is underage." Will leaned his arm around Leonard's shoulder while teasing him.

Leonard shrugged his shoulders at Will. "Don't make things up. I accidentally met him at practice this morning. She was scolded by the Duchess so I tried to save her. And he I think of as a brother, nothing more."

"Good, fine. You're grumpy." Will patted Leonard on the shoulder.

Leonard ignored him towards the mercenary army that had already gathered in the formation. Will followed her.

This is the formation made by the Duchess. The mercenaries and knights were at the very front, behind them the witches were ready to help cast long-range magic. The priests were in the back row to heal the wounded. 

The trap had been carefully prepared to destroy the enemy formation. Just waiting for the rebel to come.

"You're lucky to be alive after daring to challenge Duchess Hillbright" said Will, who was next to Leonard.

"What kind of person is he?"

"He is a man without mercy, feared by his enemies. He doesn't mean anything against you. If you mean it, I think you're dead."

"I'm not a dead man."

The Duchess raised her hand. Everyone who was there fell silent and clasped their weapons tightly. 

"What's the sign?" The whisper of Leonard who did not understand.

"Signs preparing. Turns out you didn't listen yesterday" Will said, shaking his head.

Duchess Hillbright sharpened her eyesight with an aura. Rebel forces are beginning to show. He swung his hand.

"That's a sign to attack" Will said.

Leonard pulled out his sword while lunging forward. However, he was perplexed, a commotion occurring before his eyes. 

Instead of attacking the enemy, some mercenaries instead swung swords towards the knights and other mercenaries. His friends fought each other. He thought the scene before him was very stupid. Will also attacked other knights. Leonard stared at everything in disbelief. 

"Will, what are you doing?"
