Chapter 65 Festival

Isabella smiled as she looked at Leticia and Judith. He greeted first and sat down. He bought snacks to eat with. 

Judith looks very happy. He saw the snack with sparkling eyes. Judith looked at the mother with a glare. Leticia allowed him to eat it. Isabella who saw this laughed. Judith ate the snack voraciously. 

"So there's a need for what the Princess invited me?" ask Isabella.

"I heard there will be a festival in the capital in a few days. My mother and I will go there, will Master come?" ask Judith.

Isabella turned towards Leticia. Leticia replied with a smile. 

"Well, I'll go with the Princess." Isabella nodded towards Judith.

This is Leticia's idea. In fact, Isabella and Leticia had promised to go to the festival together, but due to the bankruptcy of Count Wollard's late business, they canceled there. Isabella knew this.

"Thank you, Teacher." 

Judith is very happy. He was looking forward to the festival day. Actually he wanted to invite Dale and Rose, but they were very busy. Several times they were not seen in his training. Judith didn't want to bother them. Going along with her mother and teacher was also a good idea. He'll have fun at the festival.

The day of the festival has arrived. The three of them left together escorted by Dean. Leticia did not need her personal bodyguard because she wanted to enjoy time with her favorite people. He also does not want to be monitored. Luckily Braun allowed her to leave without a bodyguard. 

It is a little risky for an Empress to go without bodyguards, especially because of her kidnapping case. However, Leticia and Judith believe in Isabella's abilities. They feel safe together with Isabella compared to Leticia's bodyguard.

Dean came along for not wanting to leave the First Empress and Imperial Princess without bodyguards. He also wants to help Isabella protect this mother and child in case something unwanted happens.

The three of them had fun at the festival. Buy food and trivial things, play, and things that make them happy. Leticia invites Dean to forget his work for a moment and have fun at the festival. Dean, who initially hesitated, began to enjoy the course of the festival.

The night has come. Fireworks will soon be lit signifying the peak of the festival. They intend to go home when the fireworks are lit.

It was unexpected that they met two strangers. Judith approached them both.

"Aunt Rose, Uncle Dale, you two also came to this festival?"

Rose and Dale are only aware of Judith's whereabouts. Rose turned to Leticia, Dean and Isabella, and saw Judith.

"Of course, we just came. I didn't know you guys were coming too."

"We've had a lot of fun here. I actually wanted to take Aunt and Uncle, but I'm afraid to bother you." Judith looked timid.

"We're not that busy. If you take us, of course we'll come, right, not Dale?" Rose nudged Dale.

However, Dale's reaction was a little late due to daydreaming.

"Right, we'll be ready for Judith."

Rose felt these few days Dale was daydreaming often. Something strange about him. They did not even argue when they met. Something's stuck in Dale's mind. Rose thought about Leticia's feelings towards Grand Duke Faust. Looks like Dale still can't let go of Leticia. However, as soon as Rose realized Dale's line of sight as she daydreamed to meet Leticia and her gang, she smiled.

Isabella looks surprised by Dale's arrival. He looked at her long enough.

Got the idea in Rose's head. Rose takes Judith to Leticia's.

"What if there's another kidnapper?" Judith fears that Leticia's abduction is repeated.

"Don't worry, I'll install magic to protect you both. If anything happens to you two, I'll come and call everyone to help" Rose explained.

Judith who hesitated, nodded in agreement. 

Rose smiled. He immediately grabbed Dean's arm to get away from there. Dean was confused by Rose's behavior. 

"Have fun, both of you," cried Rose who was already away.

Rose smiled wryly, feeling she had done the right thing. Now he knew why Dale was acting like that.

Leticia looked at Isabella. Actually he also wanted to see the peak of the festival with his friend, but could be next time. After all, they had been around this festival from light to dark like this.

"It's okay if I go with Judith, Bella?" ask Leticia.

"Of course it's okay, Leti. I've had a great time today with you." Isabella smiles.

Leticia turned her head towards Dale while asking for his approval. Dale nodded.

Leticia and Judith joined hands away from the two of them.

Isabella and Dale are left. The atmosphere of both of them was very awkward. Dale who usually joked and played around now became quiet. Isabella took a long breath. It seemed like Dale had really given up on him. All the questions and anger that were about to be conveyed to Dale disappeared instantly. That's not important at all now. It was free to tell Dale that.

Isabella opened the conversation for the first time. "You just came, didn't you? We'd rather go around than stay here. Enjoy the festival."

"Just now I want to say that, Countess." Dale returned to his usual attitude, but it only lasted a short time.

They go around. Every place has been tried by Isabella. He's feeling bored. Dale followed behind, just shut up.

In the end Isabella sat on one of the benches in the square because she did not know where else to go. He was waiting for the top of the festival. Dale sat down next to him. 

"I've been wanting to go to the festival for a long time, only this time I can go. I had intended to come with Leticia when my father was around. It's just a misunderstanding, we didn't come. After that I never went to the festival because there was no one I could take." Isabella tells Dale because she does not want the awkwardness to continue.

"I see, if my story was about the festival, it was the first time I met Leticia. He saved me and Rose from the horde of kids that were bothering us. Then he offered to pay us to be witches." Dale told me stories.

"Are you angry that you and the Imperial Leader's Witch are just my surrogates?" ask Isabella suddenly.

Dale was surprised by Isabella's question. He answered calmly. "Aren't you the one who actually envied us for replacing you as a friend in Leticia's life. That's what caused you to be unfriendly to us the first time you met." 

"I think that's true too."

Isabella smiled knot. What Dale said was true, he envied them. But in the end, he accepted them. He considers them friends.

Fireworks are lit. The night sky was decorated with glittering lights and faded away instantly. Isabella was stunned to see the beauty that was quickly lost. Both corners of his lips lifted upwards.

Then unexpectedly, there was something stuck on his lips. Something soft. Dale kissed his lips.
