Chapter 16 The Ruse

Charlotte was in the garden of her palace holding a tea ceremony. Judith is invited by Charlotte to accompany her. Actually Leticia was also invited, but she could not come because there were guests. Charlotte didn't bother Leticia who couldn't come. Without Leticia the plan to get Judith on his side would go smoothly.

Although Leticia was known to be a fool in the palace, she continued to receive no help from Charlotte. Leticia's cautious attitude made Charlotte difficult in carrying out her plan. Charlotte thought that maybe Leticia wasn't as stupid as she thought. Braun said that Leticia was a submissive and stupid person. Charlotte did not expect anyone to be happy to let her husband marry again. Leticia was not angry to see Braun remarry. Although she did not come to Braun and Charlotte's wedding, Leticia did not antagonize Charlotte. 

Charlotte saw Judith's posture while drinking tea. The way she held the teacup and her body that remained sitting upright made Charlotte wonder. The perfect attitude. 

'Didn't Leticia not call the teacher to Judith? Where did he learn all that?' inner Charlotte.

"Your attitude is perfect, Princess. Did your manners teacher teach him?" charlotte asked pretending not to know about teacher Judith's matter.

"No mother taught me, Empress. The teacher who previously did not teach me properly."

Charlotte was surprised by Judith's reply. However, he kept the look on his face to look calm. He thought Leticia would have trouble teaching Judith. He knew that Leticia's education as Crown Princess was very strict. Leticia's manners education was good, but Charlotte didn't know that Leticia could teach her daughter this perfectly. Moreover, Leticia had to divide her time by carrying out empress duties. Leticia was also able to perform the empress' duties well. He did not add any new task load to Charlotte. He should have felt exhausted. No he must be tired, but he managed to cover it up. Just waiting for time.

"Empress Leticia is great, yes," said Charlotte. In his heart he felt angry. It turned out that Leticia was not a person who could be defeated so easily.

"True, Mom is the greatest person," Judith replied excitedly. Actually he wanted to nod, but due to meeting others, Judith was as polite as the Imperial Princess. Judith was just being spoiled and childish when she was with her mother and father. His mother taught him to be careful with his attitude, because what he did could affect the image of the Imperial family. A few days ago he was immature, when he met his new sword teacher because he was too scared and happy. He tried not to repeat the same mistake.

"Would you like to meet Louis, Princess Judith?"

"If you will, I'd like to see Prince Louis, Empress."

Judith hasn't seen Louis since Charlotte's birth. He can't wait to see it. 

Charlotte walks in front of Judith to take her to Louis's room. Along the way he focused his gaze forward on Charlotte's back. Charlotte's normally unraveling light purple hair, rolled up today.

Charlotte goes into Louis's room followed by Judith. Louis' babysitter bowed in greeting Charlotte and Judith. 

Charlotte was holding Louis in her cot. He showed it to Judith.

Judith who was stunned because of Louis' adorable face involuntarily held the Prince's small hand. Charlotte smile. Judith immediately let go of her grip, feeling her actions were disrespectful. However, he still saw Louis clingy. Louis had black hair like his father and dark purple eyes like Empress Charlotte. 

Unlike Charlotte who is blonde and has golden eyes like her mother. Many people say that he is very similar to his mother. 

"He's a funny kid, isn't he?" ask Charlotte.

"Yes, Empress."

"I hope in the future you and Louis can get along, Princess Judith. I hope the Princess can protect him. The emperor must be happy to see his two sons get along."

"Of course, Empress. Prince Louis is my brother too."

Charlotte grins. It's hard to beat Leticia. He can still get Judith on his side. Judith who was still innocent did not know the hidden intentions of Charlotte. He would gradually separate Leticia and Judith. Slowly but surely, he was sure he could win Judith's heart.

Leticia was waiting for a guest in her room. Today he and Judith invited Charlotte to have tea with him. He could not come because the meeting with Grand Duke Faust was more important. If Leticia did not come, the cooperation between them could fail. Plus, Isabella might not believe it anymore.

To be honest he wanted to come to meet Charlotte's invitation. Not because I want to talk to him. She doesn't want to leave her daughter alone with Charlotte. He had no idea what Charlotte was planning. 

Leticia tried to calm herself down. There was no way Charlotte could harm her daughter inside the palace. There are still many eyes that see. Placing Dean into a bodyguard, made Leticia's heart slightly relieved. There are people who can protect their daughter when she's not around.

Leticia's bedroom door opens. A pink-haired woman wearing an imperial magician robe was standing there. He's coming in soon. Leticia stood up to greet him. He gasped to see the man wearing the tower's magician robe following behind the woman.

"I didn't expect you to invite Dale, Rose," Leticia said

"I didn't invite him. He forced to come." Rose pointed her finger at Dale 

"I can't let you be in the enemy's cage, Leticia," Dale said as he lowered Rose's finger.

"I'm working with Grand Duke Faust, Dale. Please trust her," Leticia assured Dale.

Dale breathed a long breath. This friend's action was too rash. He will protect her if anything happens.

"Alright I'll believe it, but I'll keep coming. You need to teleport magic to the Faust residence right? I can do it. I'm afraid this guy's gonna mess up." Dale's turn pointed his finger at Rose.

"Whatdidyou say? I can do teleportation magic properly." Rose brushed Dale's finger roughly. He and Dale couldn't get along.

"That's it, stop fighting. Let's go." Leticia held his head. He wished they had not made a run for a meeting with Grand Duke Faust.

"Before that, I'll make illusion magic." In an instant Dale created an illusion as if Leticia, Rose and Dale were chatting.

"It's in anticipation of someone getting suspicious if you're not in the room, Leticia," Dale continued.

"Let me use teleportation magic. You have to defend your illusions to last. If you use teleportation magic as well, I'm not sure we can get to our destination safely" Rose said.

Dale looked at Rose sharply. Before Dale could reply to Rose, Leticia said, "Let's go."

Leticia couldn't waste any more time, they were almost too late. Hopefully with the presence of these two friends does not cause new problems for him.
