S2 Chapter 4 The End of the Rebellion

Will looked at Leonard without any answer. Without answering Leonard already knew the answer. Will defect. He continued his attacks on the knights. Leonard begins to understand why Will didn't wake him up in the morning. Will from the beginning had already intended to defect along with the other mercenaries. They are paid more by the rebels. They gathered before leaving for the camp. This is why Will didn't wake Leonard. The timing of his meeting and departure was very close. 

The duchess slashed the mercenaries one by one who attacked her. He looked towards the rebels. The traps the Duchess set were successful, but there were still some that escaped. They began to arrive at the Duchess's army.

The knights swiftly fought the government and the mercenaries. Not a single knight was injured. The defecting mercenaries began to be overwhelmed. The knights had already prepared for this to happen. They've been told in advance by the Duchess about a mercenary might defect. 

This was thanks to the mercenary leader giving a list of possible mercenaries who might defect. No this is thanks to the observations of Duchess Hillbright who is already considering all the possible possibilities.

Leonard was confused which side. He was unable to attack his friend. In the end he vented his frustration at the rebels. His sword slashed relentlessly at the rebels. However, his steps came to a halt due to an attack on his shoulder. It wasn't a rebel attack, it was from Will.

"You're gonna kill me, too, Will?" leonard didn't believe it.

"Don't you ever say that money is more important than loyalty, Leon?" sindir Will's.

Their friendship ended. Leonard attacks Will blindly for betrayal. Leonard's attacks without any prior plans can be easily repelled by Will. Counterattacks rained down on Leonard.

Leonard. He's looking for an opportunity to strike back at Will. The gap appears. Leonard injured Will in the abdomen. This one defector collapsed. 

Leonard clenched his hands tightly because he had killed one of his former friends. There are still many jobs. He continued to kill the rebels.

Duchess Hillbright's eyes were on the rebels. Aura gathered on his sword, then slashed the sword towards the rebel. His attack defeated dozens of rebels. He barged backwards instantly killing the leader of the rebellion without any significant resistance. The rebel forces began to fear. Some fled, some survived. The Duchess launched an offensive against the remaining rebels. The attack almost hit Leonard.

"Don't attack recklessly" muttered Leonard while attacking the rebels.

"I gave the order yesterday not to go forward. Didn't you hear my orders?" the Duchess shouted slashing at the body of the person who attacked her. The reason was because his attack was too wide to be able to injure his own troops. 

Surely Leonard didn't know, because he didn't listen to the Duchess' speech. They took out the remaining rebels. The defected mercenaries were also successfully quelled.

The rebellion is over. The mercenary who survived breathed a sigh of relief. The knights shouted for victory.

Leonard dropped down to rest. He looked at the sky. It survived. Both corners of his lips lifted upwards. Because the expectation of payment will increase because the empire does not need to pay the mercenaries who defected. 

Leonard's body moved on its own. Someone pulled one of his legs. He opened his eyes to find the Duchess dragging him.

"What are you doing?" Leonard.

The Duchess is unwilling to let go of Leonard's leg. He's still dragging her. "Nobody cures you when you're there. I'm taking you to the priest."

Leonard's attempt to escape stopped. She recalled Ariana saying that the Duchess was kind. 

'Maybe it's true, but why should he drag me?' inner Leonard.

"Why are you dragging me? Couldn't it be in a better way?" Leonard Protest.

The duchess stopped her actions. He was looking for a wounded man to take him to the priest. As Leonard was about to express his objection, Duchess Hillbright left. Leonard retracted his words that Duchess Hillbright was a good person. 

Ariana gets the part of curing Leonard. This one mercenary tried to smile towards the priest who saved him again.

"Is this the first time you've been involved in the suppression of a rebellion?" ask Leonard.

Ariana nodded. "Right, what about you, Leonard?"

"This is my first time too. Usually I get money from escort or other trivial things."

"It's done. Can you wake up?"

Leonard stood up, moving his body. Nothing hurts.

"Thank you, Ariana. One day I will definitely repay you."

"No need, I am helping you with pleasure, Leonard."

Ariana searches for the wounded man accompanied by Leonard. These mercenaries intend to protect Ariana. Although he knew that the rebellion was over, his feelings were not good.

After the entire squad was healed, the Duchess stared at the battlefield she had been through earlier. His head bowed in homage to the mercenaries who were still dead to defend the empire. Respect has been completed, his hands raised giving a sign so that the troops can go home. 

His men walked to the camp to pack things. The Duchess turned to follow them. 

Unexpectedly, Will is still alive. The man lunged towards Ariana who was in the very back row. Ariana turned around but could not escape it. Sword swing directed to Ariana.

With Leonard alacrity nearby, kill Will by slashing his back. Will's lifeless body rests on Ariana. Blood came out of Will's mouth. Ariana's eyes were wide. Short breath. His heart is beating hard. Her tears are flowing. 

"Ariana are you okay?" leonard asks Ariana to get rid of Will's body. 

Ariana did not answer it still shaken.

'Seeing death this close must have shaken Ariana's mind. He's too young to fight, Leonard.

Leonard's body was pushed to the side. The duchess pushed him and grabbed Will's body and threw it behind her. His face looked very panicked. She hugged Ariana tightly. His hands were constantly stroking Ariana's head.

"It's okay. Its alright. Brother is here" the Duchess appeased Ariana.
