Chapter 3 The Desire

It had been three days since the arrival of the palace doctor. Leticia doesn't eat because of her lack of appetite. Judith would stop by Leticia's room sometimes. Seeing his mother look lethargic, he approached her, sitting next to her.

"Mom not eating?" ask Judith suddenly.

Leticia just realized Juith's whereabouts.  He lies. "Mother's still full, Judith." He didn't want his son to worry.

"But I've never seen you eat a few days." Judith started to hold Leticia's hand.

Leticia silence. Her beloved daughter was worried about her. He's not worried. She wants her daughter to think about her own health and happiness.

Not hearing her mother's reply Judith continued, "Are you sick?"

"Mom's not hurt or sick, honey." Leticia put Judith's little hand on her forehead. Her body temperature is normal.

"Then is the pain invisible? That's right here." Judith pointed at his chest. He never gave up asking his mother. This little child can know the feelings of his loved ones.

Leticia opened her eyes wide. Leticia's eyes are hot. He bit his lips. He tried not to cry in front of his son.

"May you heal quickly. Don't forget to eat." Judith hugged her mother. I hope her mother will be happy again.

"Well, thank you, honey." Leticia returned Judith's embrace. He held back his tears that would come out. She doesn't want to look weak in front of her child.

Leticia's feeling is better than ever. Without a boy, he still has his cute and sweet daughter. A daughter who loves her mother.

Judith took off her embrace. He kissed his mother's cheek. Leticia kissed Judith on the cheek. Leticia smiled. Smile for three days.

Judith said goodbye to going to study with her teacher. Braun came soon.

Braun's face looked serious. Leticia's smile suddenly disappeared. Must be serious talk again. He could not grant Braun's request for the heir to the throne. Leticia's worst chance of being dumped. He has prepared his heart.

"I heard you didn't eat these few days, honey."

"I'm not having an appetite, Braun."

Leticia knew that this conversation was not about her grieving self or her hunger strike. There was no worry in her husband's words.

"I'm sorry, honey. I'm getting married again."

Leticia's eyes were wide open. Leticia knew Braun would give up on her. However, it never occurred to him that Braun would remarry.

"Who's with you, Braun?" His lips twitched saying that.

"I will marry Marquiss Nien's daughter. Besides having a son, I also need political support from the nobility." Braun erased the distance between himself and Leticia. He held Leticia's shoulder.

Leticia dodged by turning around. Her tears are flowing. In the end the happiness he craved would not be realized.

He took a deep breath, trying to control his heart. "Alright, if that's what you want, Braun."

"Thank you for your understanding, dear."

There was a sound of the door opening and closing again, shortly after Braun finished his speech.

I don't know how much longer he'll have to shed tears. Her tears may have dried up. Leticia could not please her husband. Moreover, she must see her husband owned by another woman.

Leticia is accompanied by Judith. He hugged Judith all day to comfort himself. The little princess who always loved him. A princess who doesn't know what's going on.

Leticia could only keep her daughter's feelings from getting hurt like she did. Braun must still love his daughter. He had to endure for his daughter.

A few months after Braun and Charlotte's wedding, Charlotte is pregnant. Happiness emanated from the faces of these two people. Leticia could only be jealous of seeing him.

Braun never came to Leticia's palace. Maybe because Braun is too busy taking care of his job and taking care of Charlotte and her future baby. He provides everything for his second wife, just like when Leticia was pregnant. Braun must really hope that the child Charlotte was born with is a boy.

The palace servants were gossiping about Leticia being cheated on by the Emperor. Leticia was called a fool. The Emperor is free to do anything and can even marry more than one. Leticia was only considered a display empress. The Emperor loved the second queen more. The second empress was smarter and better than Leticia. Of course Leticia ignored them.

Leticia just wishes their words weren't right. There was still a sense of love even though it was only a speck in Braun's heart for him. That's what Leticia believes.

The birthday of Charlotte's child has arrived. Braun stood guard outside Charlotte's room restlessly. Just like waiting for the birth of her first child.

Judith was curious to see her sister. He sat quietly near the outside wall of Charlotte's room watching his father pacing back and forth.

Leticia was waiting in her room alone. Judith has invited her to see Charlotte's baby. Leticia.

One of the servants came to Leticia's room. He told the news of the birth of Charlotte's son. It turns out to be a man. The boy will be the Crown Prince. After delivering the news, the waiter returned to work.

Her husband's happiness is complete. It is not her who gives happiness but other women. This means that the happiness of his family is complete even though there must be a third person.

Leticia heard the knocking on the door again. He saw Judith peeking out of the open door. Judith immediately recounted the birth of her cute sister to Leticia. Leticia just smiled, daydreaming at her daughter's story.

"Are you not happy?" Judith's question breaks Leticia's daydream.

"Mom's happy when your dad's happy, baby." It was true that he was happy despite the envy of Charlotte.

"Then why don't you come see Louis?" ask Judith again.

Louis is the name of Charlotte's newborn son. He wants to see Braun's boy. She wanted to see a boy who looked like her husband. The child he could not get anymore. However, he did not want to ruin both of their happiness by crying because he could not see them happy.

"Mom just wants to be alone, baby. Next time, we'll see Louis together" Leticia replied.

"Good." Judith smiled happily. She hugged Leticia.

"Mother, don't be sad anymore. Judith will always be there for me" continued Judith.

"Thank you, dear." Leticia returned Judith's embrace.

Her daughter is the sole advocate of her life at the moment. He would do anything for his daughter.

In the future, he hopes his daughter and Louis can get along. He will give a gift to Louis. That little boy is not wrong. Braun and Charlotte were not wrong either. They are just about the welfare of the government. Braun didn't cheat. Leticia approves of their marriage despite not coming there. All that Leticia did for the happiness of Braun and his family. Even if he had to sacrifice his own happiness.

However, she believed her husband would return. No, she'll try to attract her husband's attention. Although unable to give her a legitimate heir to the throne, she is still an empress.
