Chapter 5 There is Hope

Louis' birth party was held grandly. The nobles are vying to give congratulations and gifts to the future Crown Prince. Braun and Charlotte adorned the party with their happy faces. Judith was also happy to see many people who liked her sister. Leticia could only forcefully smile at the excitement radiated during the party.

Occasionally Leticia and Braun welcomed the guests who came. Braun sometimes held and embraced Leticia. Leticia wanted to shake Braun's hand, but she couldn't. He does not want to spread rumors about his relationship with Braun bad. Judith, who was a child, must not be able to withstand the ridicule of the nobles who saw this incident.

Braun left Leticia because it was not good to leave this party star alone. Braun approached Charlotte with a drink. Charlotte receives the drink Braun brought. They both smile.

Leticia turned her face away from that unpleasant sight. He's looking for the Judith he left with Charlotte. It's likely that Judith got bored from getting bored and went around.

Leticia looked at her daughter's back. Actually he wanted to call out to her, but undo his intentions. Judith is getting to know her peers. Everyone was very friendly with Judith. "Ah, the party is still going on. Should I call Empress Leticia?" the woman returned.

Leticia immediately turned to look at the person who greeted her. The woman standing in front of him was the leader of the imperial magicians as well as Leticia's good friend. He was a commoner who could become a leader in the empire. All of that he gained because of his great magic ability. Many witches who came from noble lineages did not like it out of envy. 

"You can call me as you please, Rose. I just want to be free from the crowd" Leticia replied quickly.

Leticia again held the edge of the balcony with both hands. 

"If you have a problem, you can tell me." Rose put her hand on Leticia's shoulder.

Leticia closed her eyes tightly. He looked at Rose.

"Thank you, I'll invite you to the first empress' palace if you're not busy. It's not good to talk about the matter at the party celebrating the birth of the future Crown Prince." Leticia was unable to control her increasingly low voice.

"I'll come even if I'm busy." Rose looked at Leticia softly. Rose's gaze was able to calm Leticia's troubled heart. Leticia wanted to hug him, venting out all her feelings as soon as possible. However, there are still ears and eyes that hear. He did not want the rumors to overload his already tired head.

"So Dale didn't come?" Leticia tried to divert the conversation.

"That guy from the beginning didn't like Braun. There's no way she's coming." Rose shook her right hand.

"It seems like it's good that I invite you two together." Leticia started to smile. He began to imagine the meeting of the three of them.

"I want you to invite me alone. If there's him, maybe you'll get dizzy because we're always fighting." Rose held her forehead with one of her hands while shaking her head.

"All right, I'll just invite you. However, next time I will invite you two along. You have to come."

"alright. I warned you not to match us. I don't get along with him and he's not my type." Rose snorted in annoyance. His best friend had long since betrothed him to Dale the tower witch. Just because the two of them are childhood friends and are both witches. They both don't like each other, and won't like each other.

"Good, good." Leticia started laughing.

This was her first laugh since Braun and Charlotte's wedding. He feels free when he is with his friends. He couldn't wait to invite Rose and Dale to his palace.

Leticia opened the last letter with a magic spell inscription. There are two people who might send you this letter, Rose or Dale. Looks like it's a letter from Rose, because the letter from Dale must have the magic tower emblem.

Leticia read the letter.

I gave you a magic stone to communicate. I hope you'll call me soon. I'm ready to come anytime.

A very short message, but very helpful. Leticia's hand grabbed the green-colored stone that was inside the envelope. He twirled the stone to notice its shape. There was a button in the middle of the stone. The button was used to activate long-range communication magic. Leticia would definitely use the stone, but today was not the right time. He put it in his work drawer.

The sound of knocking on the door was heard in Leticia's study. There was a woman who went inside. Charlotte quickly saluted and sat down at the guest spot. Leticia immediately quit her job and greeted Charlotte. He stood up and sat down in front of the second empress. It's not like Charlotte usually comes to the study. Usually they only met at the dinner table or when they invited each other to their respective palaces. 

"Before I thank you for the gift you gave to Louis, Empress Leticia."

"It's okay, it's appropriate that I give a gift to the future Crown Prince."

"I'm also grateful that you've done all the empress' duties alone. If you are interested, I hope you can help with your work. I'm also an empress, it's appropriate that I join in on the work you're doing."

Charlotte wants to help Leticia's work. Leticia should have been happy, but her heart felt troubled. Like the task was taken over by Charlotte, but they only shared the task so that the work was lighter. Leticia finally agreed.

"Alright, I'll share the empress' duties with you, Empress Charlotte."

"Thank you, Empress Leticia. I'll take care of it."

Charlotte has left Leticia's office. Leticia leaned against the chair while closing her eyes. He felt there was a hidden purpose from Charlotte.

In addition, the relationship between Charlotte and Braun looks suspicious. If Braun never loved her at all, what about Charlotte? Is Braun's feelings for Charlotte pure or just pretended? Did Marquis Nien also cooperate with Braun to kill the emperor? 

He immediately took out the magic stone given by Rose. Leticia's finger pressed the magic stone's button. The stone is shining brightly. A few days later, Rose's voice sounded.

"What's Leticia doing? Do you want to see me now?"

"No, not now. I want you to investigate the relationship between Braun and Charlotte in the past, which was Braun before meeting me."

"Well, I'll investigate them immediately. After that should I see you? Or am I just calling you through a magic stone?"

"Through the magic stone only. Thanks for your help, Rose."

"It's with pleasure, Leticia."

Leticia needs to ensure Charlotte and Braun's relationship. Their relationship is both very suspicious. Among the noble daughters why did Braun choose Charlotte?
