“Good sir, thank you.”

I smiled broadly as I was ready to get out of Pak Galih's workspace when this morning I officially worked at the branch office in this city.

The city I've been leaving for almost five years. My hometown.

The other employee who passed me by as I walked into the room greeted me very politely. Some of them have known me for a long time because I have been working in this manufacturing company for about six years.

I joined this company when I was eighteen and was only a staff member in the administration. Now, when I was about to turn twenty-four, I had my own team. I who had been trained and continued school while working in another city had my own administrative team.

Many say they envy me because at my young age, I was able to get this post. I have three years of experience leading an important part of the company. Not infrequently also many of them who underestimate my ability.

Now, I'm back at this branch where it all started. Thankful my friends were part of the team. They are the people responsible for their work.

“WELCOME!!”

I gasped in shock as five women shouted as I walked into the room. They all screamed loudly while approaching me with doughnuts in a box. The doughnut on it is deliberately turned on a small candle.

“I'm not on birthday.”

“Free?”

“Donatnya bought Leo.” Everyone smiled seductively at me. I just laughed not to take it seriously.

Leo was a thirty-year-old adult male from another part that had been blatantly approaching me for a long time. While I just think Leo is just a friend. Not more.

“Eiyy.. Yes yuk at eating his donut.” I led them to sit at their desks. Looking again at these five women before me after five years feels really relieved.

They are an avenger team that has always been proud of management. Lucky I was in it.

“Where in city X? Have a girlfriend yet?” Kiki, the woman my age is wondering.

“It is not more appropriate if you inquire about the work there?” This time it was Camila who asked Kiki. These two women were the same age as me, only I was the youngest compared to our birth month. Besides that there was Bela who was one year older than me and Tiwi who was three years older.

Suddenly the phone on Camila's desk rang. I just smiled and screamed. “Come on, everything starts working! Spirit!!”

Camila ran over to me when tonight there were only the two of us in the room. As usual I was with Camila overtime until eight at night. If I don't force Camila to stop, this woman will definitely pass it on late into the night.

I went home by public transport, as usual. But before that I turned to the mini market right next to this building to buy vitamins.

After paying at the cashier I immediately went out and sat down on the chair provided there. Tonight many office people like me are still relaxing here, chatting with their friends.

I quickly opened the vitamins I bought with a bottle of mineral water. It was my habit to eat it, at first I only drank it occasionally when my body was very weak due to the same lecture and work schedule every day, and it was effective enough to at least straighten my body.

Before I got out of there, suddenly my phone vibrated signaling an incoming call.

“Halo, what is ‘bu?”

“Halo Cha, you've forgotten mom?”

I took a breath before answering. “Of course not. I'm just busy taking care of my move.”

“Ck. This child you should have told mom when you got home. I don't want to always nag you but you always make me have to. You make mom look like a bad mom!!”

“BU!! I just got here this morning at three. Then I should've left to work—“

“Already! You've always been like that! You're more concerned with yourself compared to us.”

I subconsciously stroked my chest slowly while closing my eyes. This is my attitude since I was gone. There were only mothers and younger brothers who had just graduated from college. In this city, I live apart from them for the reason that my house is closer to where I work than my mother's house which has to take an hour and a half drive.

No, it's actually my aunt's house, but since aunt died a year ago, she left it to me considering aunt wasn't married at the time. That's also one of the reasons Mother increasingly demands me to pay for my sister's education because I get my aunt's house.

I didn't ask for it, I was just very close to Aunt Rose. Ahh I miss him now.

“Alright, I'm home now—“

“No need! You just send me the money, add it also because I want to buy you beef to celebrate Daniel's return from his farewell with his college friend.”

I muttered and the connection broke instantly. I stared at the phone screen that featured a wallpaper of the smiling face of Jung Hoseok from BTS, my favorite musician.

Here's mom, she'll nag when I'm late for the monthly money. I was only a few hours late. I should have sent it this afternoon but I completely forgot.

Then Daniel, he just graduated from a famous university in this city. Proud of mother of course. Hope the child gets a job soon so that he can take care of the mother as well, fulfilling the wishes of the mother.

I felt my head start to throb. The vitamins that I just ate haven't worked. Ignoring them, I started to brain my cell phone to transfer money to my mother, hoping that she would be happy.

I'm not a stupid woman, sometimes I miss my pampering mother as much as she did Daniel, sometimes I want you to call me to ask me about my day, or ask me if I eat regularly. I also want mom to visit me and nag me when I see I haven't washed my clothes. Those little things I felt more often with Aunt Rose.

I feel my body starting to get powerless, cape once. I need to get home soon.
