“Sed in daydreams?”
“Oh, no! Just thinking.”I smiled a little watching Bayu who had just come up with a tray containing two bowls of food and two bottles of mineral water and he was sitting beside my left.
The atmosphere of the canteen is very crowded makes me first occupy a seat so as not to be preceded by people
others. Then Bayu put a bowl of porridge in front of me, at least this is better than the bland food this morning.
“What in your mind is I?” Bayu asked, teasing me.
“Of course!” I answered confidently, returning his smile. This man chuckled softly as he opened one of the mineral water bottle caps and handed it to me.
“Thank you.” I received it and gulped down some of it with the straw he was also carrying.
We both began to eat the food that was ordered, Bayu who chose to order a bowl of curry smelled better, several times he had teased me because he knew I also liked curry.
“Today you're back to work?” I asked after Bayu had finished half his bowl of food.
“No. I'm two days off.”
“You didn't go home?”
“I'll be home later to change clothes and take a shower then back here.”
“You should go home and rest at home. No need to accompany me, tomorrow morning you come again here.”
Bayu. “I'll accompany you. Don't worry about me.”
“No! You rest at home or I'll force you to come home today so you can also go home.”
“Bare threatening me?”
“Why not?” My answer was casually facing the gaze of Bayu who was not willing to comply with my request.
“You also don't have to worry. I'll follow Doctor Stefan's words even if he wants me here the next week as long as you use your time off to rest at home and get together with the family.”
Bayu did not answer me immediately, he finished his food first and kept the empty bowl out of his presence and then sipped mineral water in the bottle until it ran out.
I who gave up did not finish the porridge, leaving it just on my right. My eyes
can not be separated staring at every movement Bayu on my left side with a smile getting wider. I can guess from the way he sipped his drinking water and from his breathing.
He must be arguing in his heart for not wanting to agree to my words. But I know, Bayu for sure
I'll approve it too.
“But—I want to accompany you! I mean, we rarely meet. Shouldn't a woman be more happy that her boyfriend is with her when she's sick?”
“Not all women like it.” My objection.
“You don't like me?!”
“Not! I don't mean it.”
“So all this time you've been hiding this reality? You don't like me?” I know Bayu is joking with his serious face right now.
“I don't hide it—“
“You are very meticulous for someone who has no intention of hiding it.” Bayu.
Anxious I pinched the small arm, Bayu immediately tried to get away from me but I was the one who was faster to pull his hand and hold it to stay beside me.
“Alright I will be honest, all this time I intend to hide it—“
“What?!”
that, I didn't know in the end I'd like you—“
“Ahhh! You don't intend to like me??” Bayu looked at me, demanding an answer.
“Really! But, I don't know when I'll like you so much that this is—“
“’Up to like this?’ How many?”
“Sangat—“ I stopped my speech, realizing that I was actually the one who entered the temptation, Bayu who was looking at me with sparkling eyes silent waiting for me to continue.
“You set me up, huh?” My question is very serious. Bayu finally chuckled softly and wrapped his right hand behind my back, pulling me so he could hug me from the side.
This man put his chin on the top of my head with a satisfied laugh. “I increasingly do not want to go home.”
“How about you take me home?”
“What?? You sure?” Bayu let go of his embrace quickly and looked at me with eyes full of twinkle. I laughed because I managed to tease him.
“I mean, I'm coming home to my house.”
“Heii!” Bayu looked annoyed now and he looked even more funny.
I who was laughing looking at him slowly stopped feeling the heat was starting to feel in my left chest cavity, my reflexes rubbed slowly hoping for better.
“What's up? Pain again?”
“Hmm.” I nodded slowly answering him. Bayu turned very serious, he pulled out his phone
to call someone.
From his brief conversation, this man called Stefan's doctor and asked him to come to the cafeteria along with the medicine for me.
“But there is no need to make Doctor Stefan come here. I should be back soon.” I said I felt bad.
Bayu shook his head, his hand rubbed the side of my face and rubbed my forehead with a tissue in his hand. I don't realize I'm sweating now. But his worried gaze seemed to distract me, I was so lulled by the glare of his eyes, instead of turning his eyes, Bayu seemed busy paying attention to every inch of my face.
Her lips were drawn to a straight line, a sign that she was very worried about me. His serious expression was very clear if he was thinking about something. His eyes look a little cute, this guy needs a break.
I smiled faintly sensing that there was a speck of pain implied in my chest cavity, it had nothing to do with the poison that made my heart grow weaker. Once again I was made aware that there was someone who loved me very much in addition to my problems with my mother, father and Daniel.
God sent Bayu to me long ago. Since we first met at the age of seven. When
we got closer because Bayu was the kid who bullied me a lot, pissed me off and got mad at him, made me have to chase after him when he took my pencil.
Or when we met again in high school, when he came back to this town after six
the year he left without giving any news. Then when we got back close and he asked me out. Until now, we were found again the third time even though at first I still do not believe Bayu so love me when I left him just like that.
With all our stories, I get the feeling that maybe someday we will be separated by the situation. But one thing I'm sure, the moments with him were the times I always missed.
“What is so sick? Come breathe.” I looked up at Bayu who was guiding me to breathe. The hand that held my hand felt warmer.
I followed her a few times until I finally could no longer hold back my laughter. I chuckled
slowly and returned his hand, rubbing this large hand with both hands.
The heat in my left chest cavity was still felt but as if it had no meaningful effect, I
feeling much better now with Bayu beside me.
“Ck! Why is doctor Stefan so long!” He grumbled, watching every corner of the cafeteria but did not
found that figure.
