EMBRACE YOU: Presence & Poison

EMBRACE YOU: Presence & Poison
Episode 91's

...

There was only bread, eggs and sausages I could afford to serve because I hadn't bought any groceries for the week. “I hope this is enough. You guys have been working all night.”

“Nothing, I think we will be quite satisfied with the result.”

“Really? Glad to hear! Then will your holiday be extended considering you have to work in your holiday period?”

“No! Not sure. You know –our work should be prepared at all times. All I know, among the other members of the captain's force, is that he and Benny are always on duty and are always on call for duty at any time, in fact they almost never took a leave of absence before captain Bayu became our captain. Therefore many underestimate and sirik because Bayu can lead a special team in his young age. People also often relate to him because he has a father and mother from the military.”

I frowned in wonder. “Why? Is something bothering you? Suddenly we discussed Bayu.” Jack smiled wrongly as he seemed to be aware of the direction of his speech.

“Tell me, you can tell me.” My insistence is to ask him to sit on this chair to my right. Jack complied and sat down, for a moment he glanced around us to make sure of things before continuing.

“I'm just a little worried. We are indeed one team and other members are also aware of the changes.” Jack closed his mouth as if he hesitated to tell me again.

“Change? Whose change?” I whispered impatiently. My feeling is that what this guy is going to say is about Bayu.

“Although in the job, the captain remains as great as ever but he changed a few months ago when compared to us who have known him for the past few years. It's colder than usual. His ignorant rate was drastically reduced and also like he thought a lot of things.”

“What is bad? I mean people can change ‘right?”

“Please do not take offense, but we do not mind it but after the Alfred case yesterday, during the poison cure mission, I think he felt more terrible.”

“Can you tell me? About taking the antidote. How did you guys make it? I don't want to sue him for telling me this time, but since you're talking about it so—“

“We also don't know!” Jack's answer actually made me frown more confused.

“We all no one knows how the captain got it! On that night, we split according to the original plan and upon our arrival at the rendezvous point, he had already brought the antidote. He only said he would report it directly to the superiors. We only hear in short if

one of Alfred's trust guards had the antidote for the poison and the captain took it for granted.”

“Only that?”

“Yes! Lookie! You're the one that ordinary civilians suspect, right? Especially us! I mean we're talking about Alfred here. It is impossible to easily get.”

My suspicion is that what Rey said when she kidnapped me was true, that Bayu could not get the antidote. Then how can it be? If you look at it from the business side, what should Bayu hand over in exchange for the antidote?

Guilt suddenly attacked me. The man had already understood my circumstances too often, but I subconsciously paid no attention to him.

What's he feeling? Be happy? Getting angry? Saddened? Or what did he go through today? I don't know at all. Just thinking about it makes my throat hurt. I seem to be too drowning in my own problems.

“Thank you Jack!” My words are really sincere, it's nice to hear there are other people who also care about Bayu.

“What? Though I did nothing.” I just smiled broadly at this man.

Our conversation came to a halt as the sound of knocking on the door sounded. I quickly stood up and held back Jack who was going to open it for me. “Let me just. Please check the others are they done? If you've called them for breakfast soon yes.”

“Ready!”

“Icha! How are you doing? Are you okay?” I frowned, astonished at Doctor Stefan's reaction.

“I've been better. Doctor come in first.” I'm allowing this man to come in. Even though I had a fever an hour ago, I still feel but at least now I can do activities and not restrained on the bed.

“I heard you had a fever. How's now? Your face is also pale.”

What make up can't cover my pale face? “I've been better doc. We're new to breakfast, join us—“

“I want to check your condition first.” He told me to sit on the couch.

Since Doctor Stefan had come here so early in the morning, I couldn't resist him, letting this man take out a stethoscope and a temperature gauge.

“What Bayu and his team are doing here?” Doctor Stefan asked as we heard a noise from the kitchen.

I'm nodding. “They've been here since last night.”

There was only silence between us. I'd love to ask you about the antidote but—

“You still have a high fever, don't you feel dizzy? You should have been lying down.” Doctor Stefan interrupted my attention when he finished checking my condition and showed his thermometer at 38.3 centigrade.

Before I answered, the sound of someone's footsteps came into the living room. We both reflexively glanced and found Bayu with father walking over.

Dad took a glance at me and looked at Doctor Stefan.

“This is doctor Stefan from military medicine.” Bayu.

Doctor Stefan stood up and they shook hands. “Dok, can you come with me? There's something I need to talk about.”

Bayu glanced at me and invited this honey-brown man to follow him. As if understanding the code the man gave, Doctor Stefan nodded and followed Bayu to leave me and dad in the living room.

“Military doctor? Why is there a doctor here? Her hair is striking once.” Father commented to eliminate the awkward situation between us.

With the color of his hair and eyes are matching and it looks striking but supported by his white skin and tall body. Doctor Stefan obviously has a foreign purity in his blood.

“How is father's condition?” My toot.

“Good.”

“Can you explain what happened yesterday?” I ask again do not want to be stale, Father is still standing in front of me. Looking at his movements, he seemed nervous facing me. Since then, I have been trying to avoid my eyes.

“Sit.” My love, but my father walked to the door and opened it.
