EMBRACE YOU: Presence & Poison

EMBRACE YOU: Presence & Poison
Episode 62

...

My eyelids opened slowly as my consciousness slowly gathered. The first thing I saw was a small lamp on the ceiling of this place. The noise around me made me realize that I was still in the ER.

I squirm a little, feeling my left hand still wrapped around the bandage. I also raised my right hand, there

a plaster and an infusion needle next to it.

Considering last night, this plaster must have been the result of a wound that was inflicted on me that forced to pull out the infusion needle. Once again I saw the situation around me, the patients here who were all aware were undergoing examination. I glanced at the clock that showed at seven in the morning.

Seeing that there was no Mom or Daniel around me right now made me breathe a sigh of relief. I'll wake up soon

to sit leaning on the headboard, my gaze turned to the patient on my left, a middle-aged woman being accompanied chatting with her husband, they smiled and laughed. I unconsciously smiled seeing them look happy.

“It's good to see you smile in the morning.”

My head reflexively turned around hearing this voice. Now to my right was Bayu who was already seated, I was unaware of his presence.

“You're coming?”

“Of course.” Bayu rubbed the top of my head, today he looked neat with his military uniform in green. Her tie looks deliberately loosened and her hair is a little messy.

“I'm sorry for not being here yesterday, I heard everything from Doctor Stefan. Because of my work,

the day I almost lost you, I was called to headquarters and there were some tasks to complete. I can only come now.” Clearly as his eyes looked at my hair, his hands were busy tidying up my hair.

“How many days have I been unconscious?” I asked to remember that I had not held a cell phone at all.

“Since that incident, two days you were unconscious.”

“Can be that long? What happened to me?” Askaqua. Bayu seemed to sigh slowly, looked at me softly and then replied.

“While in that ambulance, you lost your heartbeat. Me and Doctor Stefan are trying to get the beat back

heart and perform CPR many times. I'm grateful you're still with me at this time.” Bayu grabbed my hand, pulled it and took it to touch her cheek.

My palms felt warm from his face. His eyes did not look at my face, as if he was examining it. “You're still pale.”

“How many days have you not slept?”

“Oh! Does it look clear?” The eyes of this man widened hearing my question. I nodded because his face was clear

look tired.

“Lay here.” I shifted my seat, patting the part on my right.

“You're teasing me?”

“What? Nah! Just lie here, I won't interfere.”

Bayu chuckled, he then stood up and took off his suit, attaching it to the chair he was sitting in. Then without saying any more he immediately climbed into the same bed as me.

“Let's close your eyes. I'll be here watching!” I said slightly threatening him with a small grin. Bayu just smiled widely and lay down beside me. I who was still sitting in the same position looked down at his face which was ready to close his eyes.

“What if the hospital party protests—“

“Just calm down, I'll handle that.”

“Really? Can I count on you?” I nodded in response, Bayu smiled slightly and changed his position sideways facing me. Then he started closing his eyes.

“Your patient told me to sleep here. I'm so tired. We can argue later doc.” Bayu answered with his eyes still closed.

Doctor Stefan approached me, started to examine me and ask me things like how I feel right now

“He's sleeping well?”

I looked down at Bayu's calm face, his breathing in order. “It looks like already.”

“Let Bayu here doc. He directly came here after his task was done.” I'm asking permission.

“The work is not easy, for this time I will let it.”

“Then what about me doc? Why do I often have trouble breathing? Is it possible because of the poison effect?”

Doctor Stefan looked at me, a change in the look on his face as if directly answering my question. “Toxins this time damage internal organs. I didn't expect to head to your heart.”

I was silent, still digesting what this man was saying. Still can't believe my world seems to be on the somersault quickly. Now I'm really a sick man.

“Ahh is that doc? Will this damage be quick? Does that mean I have to find a heart donor?”

“Everything is still in the research stage, if what Bayu said is true that the man had mentioned about the antidote, we can stop the damage that was experienced. You still have to be here for further inspection.” I just nodded hearing this man's obedience.

Then Doctor Stefan said goodbye from before me, I reflexively glanced at the sleeping Bayu. Look at his calm face. Even if I hid this from her, Bayu would know it from Stefan.

I don't know what to do now, which is clear I just keep quiet noiseless in the next minutes.

I smiled slightly staring at the layer of my phone whose connection had been cut off. I just had a long chat on the phone with Dr. Cilia. The woman has not been able to come because of her work problems, she is also grateful that I can come back and be fine. Until I confessed to her that I took her medical bag, fortunately Cilia's doctor understood and didn't mind her considering that the bag was somewhere right now. Last time I was taken with that infusion bag.

Time showed at eleven o'clock in the afternoon, Bayu who was sleeping next to me had been saying goodbye to wash

his face before I chat on the phone with Cilia's doctor. Although the man only slept for more than two hours, but his face looked quite fresh earlier.

While waiting for him to return, I skate on the internet, read the latest news or find the latest news from singers I like. Ten minutes passed but Bayu still did not return.

Curious and bored, I got out of bed. Carrying this infusion bag hanging on my right side and pushing it along with me who was slowly, stepped out the ER.

Luckily no nurses or doctors were watching as I was about to get out considering this place was not a room

hospitalizations in general that can come in and out just like that. If I have a checkup later, I'll ask Dr. Stefan to move me to another room, or if I can, I'll ask permission to go home because my body is already very good.

Just when this ER room was open, the chairs lined up against the walls of this corridor were fully filled

by the people waiting, they looked at me as I appeared. Although a little embarrassed I quickly walked past them.

When I was about to turn to the other corridor, from where I stood I could clearly see the figure of Bayu with his green shirt. His sleeves were rolled up to his elbows and he was talking seriously to the two men before him. Seemed to be discussing and unperturbed by the people passing by around them.
