“It's done. Everything is fine, the swelling and pain will soon disappear, which is important for some days more carefully.”
“Thank you doc, we shouldn't bother.” I said staring at my right wrist that had been battered in gauze. Bayu took me to the hospital just as Doctor Stefan was about to go home because his shift was over.
“No problem. I'm very relieved, I think your situation was very emergency earlier, because all this time you came to the hospital with quite severe circumstances.” He answered while cleaning the equipment that was used on me.
Bayu who was sitting next to me was still silently staring at my wrist. His gaze looked blank as if his mind was not here.
“I'll remind you once again, your left shoulder is still wet by the stitches, now your right wrist is sprained. So, how are you doing? Feeling dizzy?” I shook my head quickly as Doctor Stefan looked at me attentively.
“No. I mean now no, I'm good.”
“Drugs prescribed, in regular meals?”
“Ya.”
“Rembrace with good rest.”
“Good doc.”
“Now outside my profession as a doctor, what happened to your hand? It hasn't been twenty-four hours since I saw you guys get married. And what happened to her? She's quieter.” Doctor Stefan whispered softly at the end of the sentence, taking a quick glance at Bayu.
“I just wasn't too careful with hand—”
“He was too excited to slap someone until his hand sprained.” Cut Bayu quiet, he blinked, expelling the emptiness in the look in his eyes and looked up at Doctor Stefan.
“Not too excited, but too angry!” My correction, Bayu glanced at me and grinned.
“Bayu is the only person who often looks for me to treat his wounds even small wounds such as bruises due to fights and you are a female patient who often returned to the hospital in a short period of time late- lately.” Doctor Stefan said sarcasm.
“Causible, it means we are indeed a suitable pair.” Mumbled Bayu followed his satisfied smile.
“So, Bayu is often injured, doc?” My attention could not be split hearing the word ‘often’ from the man before us, immediately Bayu's sneer vanished and I think this man gave the code to Doctor Stefan through his gaze.
My gaze turned from Bayu to Doctor Stefan because there was a long pause before Doctor Stefan glanced back at me.
“Yes, whether it's a fight wound, a cut, a cut from a sprain or a bruise. On his back, stomach and chest are the scars from that wound, ‘kan?” Doctor Stefan asked back but instantly my face felt hot and the air around thinned because of the astonished look of this man in front of me.
There was an awkward pause in this room because I didn't answer, until Doctor Stefan clucked as if he had just understood. “I understand. Yep! Then—Bayu? You forgot something this afternoon you came here—”
“Uhuk!!” I was still staring suspiciously at these two men when Bayu deliberately coughed to stop Doctor Stefan's sentence.
both.
“Then, let's go home Boo, mother is waiting for us.” Now it was Bayu's turn to suddenly stand up to take me home.
“It's not clear? Doctor Stefan pretended to forget something and came out of the room to give us time?”
“What? What time?” Bayu asked, pretending not to understand which of course failed to convince me.
“Time for you to explain something to me! So you were here this afternoon? Wh why? Are you hurt?” I asked to be mixed between worry and annoyance because he didn't tell me this important thing.
“No dear, doctor Stefan just a little exaggerated—”
“I don't care if it's excessive though because it's all about you! I should know too!” Bayu let out a long sigh, he sat back down and seemed to have given up looking for an excuse.
“As Doctor Stefan said, it's just a small bruise. You don't have to worry.”
“You are not the type of person who comes to the hospital due to small bruises.” I said.
“Why didn't you tell me you were hurt! When's? What happened?”
“It happened this afternoon, I managed to track down Rey Orihara's whereabouts in the city, I was afraid she was leaving again so I went there alone. I was too careless and hurried to catch him, even though I had expected that he would not just appear if there were no strong security. Fights were inevitable, he knew that the army certainly could not engage ordinary citizens, so he made the people in that place stop me from even hitting me. Rey spread the word that I was a ruthless mobster always hunting him, he even reminded those people that I must have claimed to be a soldier like I often did before to deceive others, so when I said I was a soldier, they didn't believe me. Somebody hit me in the hand when I was about to pull out an identification, they thought I was going to pull out a gun. Then help came and they believed. I ran after Rey and fought with her bodyguards, but still she managed to escape. If only I had waited a little longer, maybe our chance of catching Rey was higher because Lifer came home from his duties and rushed to join the relief team from the base. I'm not as good as you think, the task of capturing ****** as Rey always succeeds because we did the four of us, if I was alone, I didn't have much of a chance.” Bayu told a long story that I listened to full of concentration.
“Of course because the four of you are a team. To catch Rey's team, you have to fight her with teamwork as well. Not only in criminal cases, but even simple cases within the company, if there is no admin teamwork in my office, I am also not as good as you think.”
“Really! I even forgot that simple notion, the team against the team will be balanced. Ck, that's stupid! I was in too much of a hurry to catch him!”
“So, try to see which part hurts?” I tried to slightly divert his lament of regret.
“Here.” Bayu pointed to the left upper arm covered in his moss green shirt.
“What hurts? What did Doctor Stefan say?” I grimaced slowly imagining the pain of his spanking.
“Say I was lucky because my hand was not broken after knowing I was hit by a woodcut sculpture—”
“WHAT?? WHO HIT YOU?? TELL ME!!” I screamed in anger while standing up agitated.
“This is overrated! How could there be such a person! One against a lot of people and have a chance to hit you??”
“That person has been arrested and I've sued him, Boo.” Bayu pulled my hand gently so I sat back down and rubbed it to calm my emotions, but it was useless, I was still furious! I want to feel like I'm now also meeting that person and hitting him back.
It doesn't matter if it's my left wrist that's probably gonna sprain in the end.
