“What are you doing today?”

I who was daydreaming immediately realized when I heard Bayu's question. We just finished dinner, just the two of us at the kitchen counter.

“Just stay home. After Dika and Lucy got here this afternoon, they visited me for a while to say hello, and I told them to just take a break, because I'm not going out.” My answer.

It's true, all day I watch tv, or play games and surf the internet. Actually to take my mind off our discussion last night.

“Why?” This man helped me to get up and put on my dark brown knit jacket.

“There is a gas leak. Before everything is safe, we have to go out.” Instantly my sleepiness disappeared.

“Hah? Gas leak? Over where? In this apartment?” Bayu did not answer me immediately, he pulled me and grabbed our cell phones lying side by side on the nightstand.

“On top floor. Everyone panicked and was already displaced out.” He answered while opening the door to our apartment.

Sure enough, when the door opened, I could hear the footsteps of people running in the distance. The floor corridor of my apartment was already deserted and there was only me and Bayu in this hallway.

This man was about to take me to the elevator, but seeing the busy elevator going up, he pulled me to the side of the emergency stairs.

I did not say much, just obeying Bayu who continued to lead me to quickly go down the stairs. We are on the 10th floor, although going down the stairs is not tiring but still makes my legs a bit sore.

My hands are free to hold the phone, I turn it on for a while to display the time and date. It turns out it was already one in the morning.

“So, that gas leak came from whose room?” I asked to break the silence on this dimly lit emergency staircase.

“I heard it came from Mr. Baron's apartment.”
