“What are you doing today?”

I who was daydreaming immediately realized when I heard Bayu's question. We just finished dinner, just the two of us at the kitchen counter.

“Just stay home. After Dika and Lucy got here this afternoon, they visited me for a while to say hello, and I told them to just take a break, because I'm not going out.” My answer.

It's true, all day I watch tv, or play games and surf the internet. Actually to take my mind off our discussion last night.

There is still one thing that makes me not calm yet, “what about Gia's further investigation?”

Bayu nodded, “we are re-examining everyone associated with Gia. I'll tell you if there's a result.” This guy collects dirty dishes, puts them in the dishwasher and starts turning on the water, intending to wash them.

I immediately got up and approached him, “let me alone. You sit there.”

“No no! It's my turn, you've been cooking for our dinner.” Bayu shook his head, reluctantly giving the dishwasher sponge to me and began to wet it with water.

I smiled slightly, no longer arguing with him but accompanying him on the side, watching everything he did.

Not aware that we were just silent, not speaking at all until Bayu slightly nudged me, “apa?”

“What do you think? Why silence?” Bayu understood the look on my face.

“No.” My answer.

“By the way, how about the bruise yesterday? Try taking off your shirt again, I want to check it.” Said.

“You won't take a chance ‘kan?” I asked with narrowed eyes full of suspicion on him.

Bayu chuckled softly, he did not reply and immediately pushed me to sit on the living room sofa.

Fortunately today I was wearing a dark purple shirt shirt shirt, so I didn't have to open it all, just enough top buttons to lower my sleeves a bit.

“The color has been changed to purple, hmm. match the color of your shirt.” Ledek.

“Thank you. I feel flattered. If it's like this my bruises can be camouflaged.”

“Hehehe, this you. It's ridiculous! Wait a minute, I take a warm water compress.” He got up from his seat and turned towards the kitchen.

I didn't say much and just sat waiting for him, leaning against the back of the sofa with two hands hugging my own arms. I don't know why I feel so tired. Not with my body, but I feel mentally tired. Want to shut up and cool your head.

Then Bayu's hand touched my head gently and asked quietly, “Boo, what's wrong? Aren't you feeling well?”

“Hmm.” I just shook my head without glancing at him behind my back.

“What I am forcing you too much in—“

“No!” I immediately cut off his words, my face immediately heated up but I still turned around, facing him, “of course not! I was just mentally tired. You know ‘kan, however, our discussion yesterday I still think about all day.”

Bayu nodded, he suddenly spread out his hands, “ayo! Get in my arms. You'll be fine.”

“If this one, I can't resist it.” I answered while dropping my body into his arms, leaning my head on his chest until it made Bayu stagger back and will fall.

Next, Bayu let the spoiled me who was busy hugging her tightly, wrap both my hands around her waist.

He gently treated my bruises, letting the hot water compress he was carrying stick with his bruises while grasping my long hair and attaching it to the side of my right shoulder.

I can't remember how long we were like this, which is clear, I only felt calm as my ears stuck to his chest, listening to how his heartbeat and breathing were coming from up close, until my consciousness slowly began to disappear. My eyes are getting heavier and I can no longer fight to keep my eyes open.

My body felt light and warm when Bayu's two arms I could still feel hugging me tightly.

“Icha!! Oi!! Wake up baby!!” I felt the urging of Bayu's voice luring my spirit back.

I blinked and realized that now I was lying on the bed, finding Bayu's face on my right side.

“What's up?” I yawned and sat up slowly.

“Let's wear your jacket first. We have to get out of here.” His voice sounded panicked

“Why?” This man helped me to get up and put on my dark brown knit jacket.

“There is a gas leak. Before everything is safe, we have to go out.” Instantly my sleepiness disappeared.

“Hah? Gas leak? Over where? In this apartment?” Bayu did not answer me immediately, he pulled me and grabbed our cell phones lying side by side on the nightstand.

“On top floor. Everyone panicked and was already displaced out.” He answered while opening the door to our apartment.

Sure enough, when the door opened, I could hear the footsteps of people running in the distance. The floor corridor of my apartment was already deserted and there was only me and Bayu in this hallway.

This man was about to take me to the elevator, but seeing the busy elevator going up, he pulled me to the side of the emergency stairs.

I did not say much, just obeying Bayu who continued to lead me to quickly go down the stairs. We are on the 10th floor, although going down the stairs is not tiring but still makes my legs a bit sore.

My hands are free to hold the phone, I turn it on for a while to display the time and date. It turns out it was already one in the morning.

“So, that gas leak came from whose room?” I asked to break the silence on this dimly lit emergency staircase.

“I heard it came from Mr. Baron's apartment.”

“Hah? Is it possible that they fought and threatened each other?” My guess.

“Boo, stop rubbing them. Come fast!!”

“Basic men!!” Ledekku, this time I deliberately preceded him and replaced me who pulled his hand so that our steps faster.

...

“What happened?” Bayu immediately asked Dika and Lucy. The two men came straight at us as soon as we walked out the door of the emergency stairs, next to the apartment building, and we could clearly hear the noise of people in front of the building.

“Someone goes up to the roof of the building. Because it was dark we couldn't see it. But there have been some people who climbed to the top.” Answer Dika.

“What's the guess, who went up to the roof?” Askaqua.

“I heard, people say the woman was named Nadya.” Lucy's response made me and Bayu reflexively look at each other.

“Then what about the fire truck?” Ask Bayu.

“It will be less than three minutes.” Said Dika.

“Good work.” Bayu patted Dika's shoulder, and nodded also at Lucy.

I don't know why I can understand the meaning of Bayu's words, he was very relieved because these two people were immediately alert when called, but now at one in the morning, it's time for people to sleep.
