EMBRACE YOU: Presence & Poison

EMBRACE YOU: Presence & Poison
Episode 275's

...

Just a moment ago I saw the name on their wedding photo at the side, the man was Jona Murillo and his wife Lelei Dalia.

“Congratulations on your forty-five year wedding anniversary.” Grandma smiled and hugged her friend, Lelei.

“You should also have a party for the anniversary of the wedding. I wait loh.” Grandma Lelei hugged Grandma.

“Ahh we are old.” Gurau grandpa.

Jona Murillo, even though she was holding a cane in her right hand, but she could still joke around by throwing it at grandfather.

“We are also old, I have to wear the cane to be more comfortable when walking, but our spirit and love should not lose to young people, right? Hahaha.” The old man laughed as his grandfather, grandmother and wife laughed.

But as it turned out, the corner of Jona's grandfather's eyes noticed my presence behind grandfather, he stopped laughing and looked at me curiously.

“So, you brought a nephew? Which one this time? Which of your brothers is it?” Grandpa Jona asked, hearing him speak, I suspect that grandfather and grandmother must have been used to bringing their niece to parties all along.

“This time you brought a beautiful girl. Is she the granddaughter of your late sister, Nella?” Grandma Lelei watched me from top to bottom.

My face instantly heated up, I feel very awkward now.

“Not all this time you've been pressing me, Lelei? So we deliberately brought it, to be introduced directly to you.” Grandma replied, then Grandma Lelei's expression immediately turned startled.

“So—you mean, this..”.

“Danendra family's first grandchild!” Sela Jona's grandfather was excited, as if she won the grand prize. It again made the people around us distracted to glance curiously.

“Yes. This is Evano's only daughter. Her name is Natasha Icha Danendra.” Grandpa invited me to move forward.

I stepped forward and smiled at them as I said, “happy for your marriage. May Jona's grandfather and Lelei's grandmother always be given happiness and health.” then hand over the medium box with black and white tape to this woman.

I don't know what it is because this gift box was handed to me by my grandmother in the car earlier, she said I had to hand over the gift.

“Thank you affection for do’a. You are beautiful.” Grandma Lelei's whispered moved still looking at my face.

“Finally, you guys showed me too, eh? Then, from now on you should bring Natasha to our next gathering. Don't wear someone else's grandnephew again.” Said Grandpa Jona.

“You're right! I just remembered that Leonel invited us for his birthday.” Answer grandfather

“But by the way, where is Nathan? I'd like to introduce her to your granddaughter.” Grandma Lelei smiled at grandma, but before we responded, Grandpa Jona gently touched his wife's arm.

“Honey, this is Evano's son. A few weeks ago we got their invitation but since we're in paris, we can't attend their blessing ceremony.”

“Yeah! I forgot! So your granddaughter is married?” Grandma Lelei looked at the granny who was nodded by him.

“Why are not all of you brought?” Grandma Lelei asked me.

“Wood is on duty at the border, so can't come.”

“Ohh... So he's a soldier?” Guess Lelei's grandmother.

“Ya.”

“We stop this chat, we better talk about you guys. This is your wedding anniversary.” I don't know why I heaved a sigh of relief because grandma was trying to shift the subject.

Nervous and alone in the party crowd made me turn it to food. Although grandparents still go around to greet their old friends, I am allowed to enjoy the food lined up, served with a stand.

After getting some kind of food, I started to cool myself tasting it. Ignoring the fact that I was alone at a round table that each had four chairs on each table.

Around me there were many women and men who seemed to be my age greeting each other or being introduced by their grandparents. Then, the chatter of a few people at the back table caught my attention.

“...business! Grandma advised to at least try to get acquainted.” It was a man's voice.

“Do not expect much. My grandmother said she was married.” This time it was the voice of a woman.

“But he's the granddaughter of the Danendra family? Families who are nicknamed business monsters can do anything ‘kan? I mean, they could've hired that guy to pretend to be their granddaughter. During this time they did not want to expose the heir of the group Eternity.” Another woman's voice chimed.

“I don't care why he just appears, as long as it's beautiful, why not try to approach him? Hahaha.” The second man laughed and immediately greeted the laughter of his friends as well.

I sighed in annoyance. Why listen to people like them?

“Married! She's a married woman!” Remind the first woman.

“Who is the man who married her? My family is a successful businessman, we will definitely be a suitable partner if he knows me first.” The answer is confidence.

I shook my head a little, the man's confidence was a little nauseating. Even until now, I never thought and wished to meet another man besides Bayu.

“Army! She married a soldier.” Tell the woman.

“Ck.ck. As I thought, I seem to be the better fit. Business families like them should have a daughter-in-law as well.” I wanted to turn around and throw the guy with all the plates on my desk.

“I don't like soldiers. Besides they are often on duty and leave the house, most of them are too stubborn.” The second woman commented.

“Know not the case of soldiers who were fired for being defectors?” Ask the first man.

“You mean, betray the country?” The confident man asked with interest.

“Yes. The case was fired by members of the TNI because they were involved in buying and selling firearm ammunition. He defected and joined an armed criminal group in Papua. Before he was arrested, he killed a General Election Commission staffer, alleging he killed the victim out of frustration with his dismissal. Crazy ‘kan?”

“Look, that's one of them I don't like soldiers. They act hotshot.”

“But not all soldiers are like that.” Said the man who told me about the case.

“My perspective is bad and—“ I'm standing up soon, don't want to hear their chat anymore. Intended to approach the drink stand, but in the middle of the road, the vibration of the phone in the small handbag I was carrying shook.

Suddenly I got excited, really expecting Bayu to call. As soon as I saw her name on the phone screen, I could not help but smile broadly.

Before picking up the phone, I quickly reached for the airpods, placed one in my right ear, connected it to a Bluetooth-enabled phone and answered the call.

Video call!

“Halo.”
