I stood up quickly, wanting to run in pursuit but from the opposite direction, I could see the figure of Bayu coming in from the cafe door, the man had a quick glance at Robert when they passed each other but the cool Robert stared at his phone unaware Bayu.
My eyes are still staring at Robert's back that disappeared behind the cafe door, if the gaze can kill, I'm sure Robert is already sprawling now.
“Boo, what's wrong with you? What are you looking at?” Bayu's voice shifted my gaze, this man was already standing before me as his hands touched my shoulders and the sides of my head.
I looked at Bayu while pouting in annoyance and said. “That guy, suddenly came to want to chat with me both, he was so annoying, even he photographed me without permission.”
Bayu turned around, looking out at the cafe, but it was too late because in an instant, the, Robert had gotten into the car waiting in front of the cafe and drove out of the parking lot towards the highway to join the other car.
Bayu turned back to look at me. “Man earlier?”
I nodded still irritated at the unauthorized photo, then one of the hands of this man rubbed the top of my head and the other hand reached into his pants pocket to pull out the phone.
“I promise I'll delete it.” He said softly, though,
“Halo. Are you still on the road? Yes, please check the black car heading towards the city square, the license plate number—”
“Icha, the man is gone?” Talia's voice shifted my gaze.
“Ya, we chat for a while.” I answered Talia and prof Bora.
“What happened?” Prof Bora glanced at Bayu at a glance who was still talking on the phone.
“She was photographing me without permission.”
“It so happens that you are here, grandfather has got the approval that doctor Stefan and prof Bora will join the sky investigation at the villa. Phonex members will also be involved in tracking sky.”
“Really?” Talia looked shocked as well as excited.
“Yap, just a few minutes ago approved. Here's his letter.” Bayu thrust his phone at Talia, reflex me and prof Bora along read the letter on the screen.
Talia suddenly screamed happily. “I have to find Lifer!! Gosh darn.. Gosh darn.. Gee whiz... I miss him so much!!”
“Lifer is at headquarters.” Tell Bayu. Talia immediately grabbed her bag, put her phone in and then she hugged me and prof Bora a glance before leaving.
“From a long time ago he was obsessed with sky. Opportunity to get closer to know about sky of course will not be in vain right.” Say Bayu. The three of us were still staring at Talia's back which quickly disappeared behind the door.
“Alright, it looks like I should also go back.”
“Directly find doctor Stefan?” Guess me to prof Bora, but this woman shook her head while cleaning her things to put in her bag.
“No. It's already afternoon. I'll start discussing about it tomorrow.” After saying that, he said goodbye to us and disappeared also among the customers of the cafe which this afternoon was getting crowded.
“Not yet. How's your job today?”
“Sshh.. Much to do.” I took a long breath.
“What's the business at headquarters done? You can go home.” I remembered the message this morning.
“Yes, I'll leave for duty out of town tomorrow the day after tomorrow. Grandpa gave me permission to take a day off to prepare everything.” Bayu pulled out my drink that was still half left for him to try.
“So, what will you do tomorrow?”
“Of course spoil my wife.” Bayu's expression turned ignorant in an instant. I felt my face start to heat up and could not hide my smile.
“But tomorrow I have to work.”
“Can't you take the day off?” Bayu sulked at me with a clear face.
“I've had too many holidays—”
“Toh still the company will be yours.” He mumbled softly as heard by me.
“What?”
Bayu glanced at me carefully as if aware of his words, I looked at him sharply, curious and full of threats to let him tell the truth. My feeling is that the rumors at the headquarters that Rima said this morning had something to do with Evano's father, without even having Bayu talk like that, I think Evano's father bought shares in the company I worked for.
“Did you know Evano's father bought some shares of the company I worked for? I snorted the info this morning, the timing was too coincidental. Say!”
The man beside me sighed in despair and replied. “I heard your dad talk to his friend at the wedding yesterday. Said you were working for a company that your father was in the process of buying.”
I was silent, thinking, then the question that had been in the corner of my mind was finally spoken. “What do you think Evano's father is ashamed of having a child like me?”
“Why do you think like that??” Bayu glanced at me sharply, from his expression I knew he didn't like me asking like that.
“Just think. I mean Evano's dad bought some of the company stock at my place of work, and then at the wedding, he didn't ask me at all to introduce his friends. Nella Shana's grandmother doesn't like me, the only thing she admits to me is that I'm married to Jeremy's family boy.”
“Oh my dear, sorry because you have to think like that.” Bayu embraced my shoulder, hugging me from the side.
“It's not you who should apologize, maybe I'm just too dramatic?” I said a little smile at him.
“No. What you think and feel is also important to me. Jeremy's surname out there may sound great, but a person's status and background is only limited to judgment in the eyes of humans, not in the eyes of God. But my life wouldn't be this perfect if you weren't my life's friend.” He said while rubbing the top of my head, his face was a gentle smile that managed to make me feel better.
“I also want to feel acknowledged and loved by my family, am I too selfish?”
“It is not selfish if you love yourself and make your happiness a priority. It was a need. Someone once told me that the privilege of a life is to be yourself.” I looked at the side of her face as she was focusing on stirring up my drink with a straw, she said all of that in a calm tone, at the same time she looked charming.
“Boo, I love you as you. I love you as I am. No need to fake themselves, mutual as is more enchanting.” Soft whisper. I couldn't bear to not hug her back from the side, bringing my body closer to her.
“Remember when we were kids, I always pissed you off even on the first day we met? I always hide your stuff and you look for it until class is empty?”
“Yes! You're a very annoying boy!” I nodded with a small laugh, not taking my eyes off her.
“I don't know if anyone else has ever felt it but when you got into that tutoring class the first time, it was as if I had been waiting for you to come into my life. I want to get to know you, I want to get closer to you and finally all I can think about is just judging you.” Laugh at the end of the sentence. My mind floated considering the first time I stepped into the classroom and the ten boys and girls who were my age stared at my every move.
