"Hem, this isn't hard." My fingers penetrated into the ground easily and a cold sensation began to creep through my fingers.
"It looks like it's gonna be fun." I started to move my fingers.
Digging into the ground eagerly hoping to soon find a potato that almost everyone likes.
"Don't be like this" I was surprised and immediately raised my head to see a man who was perhaps 3 meters away from me.
It was a foreign man and I had never met him before, unless he was part of the group that came with Ustad Azam.
Looking at it at a glance, I immediately lowered my head to look at the ground. Pulling both my hands from the ground and hiding them from the man's sight.
"If you use your bare hands to dig the ground, your hands will be hurt." He said he was still in place with no movement.
I knew my hand was gonna hurt, no, actually my hand was already hurt but not a serious wound. This was only a minor wound from accidentally rubbing against the stone earlier.
"But I don't have gloves to dig up the ground." I told him.
If there was any chance I wouldn't use my bare hands to dig up the ground.
"You can dig the ground without using gloves." From where I sat, I could hear him move.
I peeked at him from the corner of my eye and saw that he was sitting crouching in front of a potato tree.
"Follow me digging with these tree branches." He said as he dug the ground with tree branches.
He only dug a few minutes and two or three potatoes came out of the hole.
"I didn't think about it." I said embarrassed.
He didn't say anything. After digging he then pulled the potato tree until all the potatoes in the ground came out.
It's very practical and easy.
Why didn't I think about this move?
He cleaned up the plucked potatoes quickly and put them into my vegetable basket without even glancing at me at all.
"Now you can continue again by using this tree branch." He put the tree branch he used next to my vegetable basket.
After that he walked away from me.
"Thank you." I told him.
He only nodded lightly and went back to digging the ground again but times the distance was quite far from me.
Well, this is better because this way I won't be uncomfortable here.
After that I used his method to get the potatoes faster. Although not as fast as the man but this is better than nothing. Just imagine, if I used both hands then the process would be very slow and tiring.
It didn't feel like time had passed and my vegetable basket was almost full. Maybe digging one more tree could fill it.
"Ugh.." My feet feel numb.
Hah, it can't be saved anymore. From the start of my hands, my dress, to my socks have now been dirty because of the ground.
"Are you okay?"
Deg
It's a cold, sound that's been soaking up my hearing for years. A voice that often makes me drop tears on silent nights.
Ustad Azam is here. I dare not raise my head and look at him. Rather than looking at her, I would rather pretend not to hear her question and act like there is no one here.
To support the charade, I used both of my hands to massage both of my legs. To be honest, I also did this so that the numbness in my feet immediately disappeared.
"Mega, are you okay?" He has been by my side for some time now.
"Oh..Ustad," I pretended to have just realized his arrival.
"I'm doing fine. It's just a little tingling." My answer forced a smile.
He sat down beside me, a little distance but not too far away. Regarding his facial expression, I couldn't see it because well, honestly I didn't dare to do it. I was afraid to find that cold face again.
"Temperature? Is it still sick?" He asked again.
What if it still hurts?
It's not like he's gonna help me or massage my legs. What do I think hahaha..
Don't get your hopes up, Mega!
"No, it doesn't hurt anymore." I tried to move my legs but death still seemed to exist.
This..how else do I have to wait? Why won't my feet cooperate at the most crucial time, ah!
"If it still hurts you don't have to hide it."
Oh, who was Ustad until I had to hide it! As if you were important to me!
"It's really fine." I said reassuringly.
"No, I'll call someone to help you."
Oh, so you've been insisting on throwing me to someone else?
O Allah, Ustad Azam. What in your heart is not the slightest bit of mercy?
"No, need-"
"Sasa, come here." He called Sasa sister here.
Ah.so that's. He used me as a stepping stone to be alone with Sasa. Haha..
