This isn't normal.
They haven't seen each other since their separation at the hospital. Never meet, talk to each other or tell them they never did.
If it was only a friend then Vano would not be so sorry if he did not meet him. If it is only a friend then Vano will not be as long as it wants to play with Ai. Years of not meeting should Vano forget Ai but the fact that it did not happen.
He still remembered Ai. He also desperately wanted to see Ai now. Wondering how tall she was now, how long her hair was now, and whether that radiant white face still met red every time she met him.
This is what Vano really feels.
"Can't answer? Then I will change the question, would you be willing if Ai met another man?"
Meet with other men?
"No, Om. I'm not willing." Vano replied faster than Ali's father had imagined.
Vano answered without hesitation like the previous question.
"Why, aren't you just friends?"
"But I don't want Ai to meet other men. I.want I'm the only friend to Ai."
"Well, what if he's already friends with another boy, a much better boy than you?"
Vano panic. His two clenched hands held back the furious turmoil within the heart.
"I'm not gonna let that happen."
"So, do you still consider Ai a friend or not?" Ali's father returned to the original question.
Vano shook his head.
"I'm more of a friend to Vano."
Ali's father smiled. He then turned to the most important question.
"I am a special child. She won't grow up like the women out there, will you accept this distinction?"
"I already know, Om. Mom and Dad once told me who Ai was. But Om must know whoever Ai is not important as long as we are not separated anymore. As long as we get back together I don't care about anything else." Vano answered straightforwardly and convincingly.
Ali's father had no doubts about his beliefs but he was still testing.
"So, if I marry you two, will you accept Ai as she is?"
Married to Ai, she naturally wanted to because it meant that the two of them would never part again and would continue together.
"What does Om mean?" Vano is very happy.
"I mean it on one condition."
"What's the condition?" Vano has no doubt.
"You should be a good leader for Ai. But this degree you can only get after you have studied religion."
This is a very difficult condition because Vano is not a person who is too deep in religion.
"If you can't afford it, step back from now on and never come here again. Ai must start to solidify herself for her future husband"
"I want to, Om! So please don't allow any men to approach Ai." Cut Vano in panic.
"Okay, it depends on your diligence. If you are loyal to Ai then you will get it, but if not then Ai can only meet better men. Only God knows, no one knows where your heart will be in the future so I can only fear you getting Ai if you qualify for me."
Ali's father did not doubt Vano's feelings for Ai. Because these few years he had seen how diligent Vano was looking for Ai although many times he was disappointed. Vano was still faithfully searching and even today he came asking directly to confirm all his suspicions.
"For Ai's sake, whatever I'm gonna do. Om can be sure that I just want to be with Ai."
"We'll see it in the future." Ali's father then placed a white envelope on the table.
"Pondok pesantren Abu Hurairah, study here because Ai will also study here. I hope a few years later you can already be someone I hope to be and a good leader for Ai. By Allah, as long as your heart is firm with Ai, I will never hesitate to marry you. Throw away Aishi Humaira as your life companion." The words of Ali's father were a spring of untold how fresh and sweet it tasted.
Vano is very happy. He got a very emotional guarantee from Ali's father. His Ai, his Aishi Humaira will always be by his side.
Vano thanked Ali's father before returning home. Although not allowed to meet with Ai but Vano was not disappointed because Ai would eventually become hers.
"Qais and Rumaisha, come back. Mother called you to eat chocolate cake."
That soft voice immediately possessed his soul. Making a step Vano immediately stopped accompanied by an unbearable heart pounding sound.
"Ai," Whispered Vano gazed from afar.
"I've finally seen you."
