After speaking with the Reichstag, Berengar returned to his Castle, where he had lived for a while while his palace was being built. He thought deeply about the composition of his transition government. To be honest, the House of Commons and the House of Lords are not currently very large in number, nor were they chosen to rule. In contrast, Bernegar put those who had proven themselves competent and understood his reforms into a position for a while to act as a form of government during this transitional period. At the same time, he will spend the next few years educating the population enough to allow for a proper vote.
The House of Commons was filled with commoners who already had a basic understanding of reading, writing, and trading. During the later part of the medieval period in which the current Berengar liked himself, towns and cities had commoners who were not just slaves and who instead worked in trade within the local community, and these partially educated people, such as Ludwig, were, appointed to work in the rudimentary "Parliament.
In reality, the House of Commons is made up of a dozen or two people whose current responsibility is to take some work off Berengar's shoulders and act as the public face of political representation. As for the House of Lords, the people in it were much more educated and in charge of most jobs, at least for now. They were mostly made up of a younger generation of nobles who proved to be more friendly to Berengar's revolutionary ideas.
Technically this act is legal under the so-called Berengar Constitution, as it gives the head of state the power to directly appoint people into positions of power, including parliament, as well as remove them, he said, or even outright dissolve parliament as a whole where he could then appoint whoever he wanted for the position, or call for re-election.
Upon returning to the Castle, she quickly finds herself hugging Linde and the newborn baby boy who is in her arms. Linde has just given birth to a son named Hans, who Berengar officially recognizes as his son. However, he has not fully legitimized the boy as it would provoke Otto to cancel the engagement he had with Adela, which he was unable to do. Of course, this was a major scandal, and Otto was close to breaking off the engagement; only thanks to Adela and her insistence on marrying Berengar, did it remain.
After hugging her lover, and her son, Berengar kissed Linde's lips and asked a question in her mind.
"How's my baby doing?"
Linde looked at him cunningly as she persuaded the sleeping child before answering Berengar's question.
"You mean the kid or me?"
Berengar smirked as he responded to his lover
"I mean both!"
Linde smiled gently as she held onto her baby boy before handing him over to her father.
"We're fine, Hans is a very healthy boy, or so Ewald says!"
Berengar smiled at the news; the last thing he wanted was for his eldest son to suffer the same level of weakness and illness as he had in his youth. Meanwhile, he thought to himself in the back of his head.
'Mom, Dad, you finally have a grandchild. Too bad you won't be able to meet him!"
After holding his son for a while, he returned the boy to his mother, who had a worried expression on her face, it had nothing to do with the child, and Berengar immediately noticed it. After putting the baby on her bed, Linde began to deliver the latest news she received.
"The king has died..."
Berengar was not surprised by this news and was actually quite happy about it; this meant his plans for conquest could begin soon. Of course, the first goal on his list was to seize Innsbruck and declare himself Prince of Tyrol; thus, his first question was about the Linde family.
"When will your father attack Vienna?"
Linde has no guilt in the slightest as she reveals her father's plan to her lover as if it were the most natural thing in the world.
"He would march to Vienna in a week; he would need at least two weeks for his troops to reach the Capital. Now, the Duke has already begun to move his army to Bavaria where he will fight with the Wittelsbach for the title of King."
Berengar nodded with a stern expression on his face before responding to the information.
"Then I will march to Innsbruck in a month; it should have been more than enough time for the Count to begin his siege."
Linde hugs Berengar and kisses him passionately as he conspires with his master against his father and family.
"Should I call you Count Berengar?"
Berengar laughed at the young teaser's response before flicking his nose; he couldn't wait to have another child. Unfortunately for her, Berengar insisted on waiting at least six weeks after giving birth before they could engage in their usual nightly pleasures. Seeing that Linde had not had a proper rest time, Berengar easily broke away from his grasp. To avoid complications after childbirth, it is best to wait a while before doing the activity. Since Berengar wanted both of his women to live as long as possible, he chose to abstain for now. So she teased Linde a little as she responded to her flirtation.
"No, I refuse to use such a title until I get it with the right of conquest!"
Of course, by rejecting him, Linde began to frown; although Berengar had explained his reason for doing so, he still felt lonely without making love to the man he wanted. Nevertheless, it was only for a short time again, and thus the couple was getting ready for bed. Tomorrow was the day that Berengar would spend most of his time with his troops, preparing them for battle. His army has grown substantially over the past six months, and he was confident in claiming County Tyrol for himself and quelling the rebellion that would naturally occur from the Lords who swore allegiance to Count Lothar.
When the time came for Prince Lothar to call for war, Berengar would grant him the strength of the Payday Army and a golden reward for apologizing for his absence. Although it would definitely make the man angry, it would definitely be accepted. Thus left Berengar and his superior army with the ability to march on Innsbruck. Although he was unaware that the Teutonic Knight Force was marching towards his land, it would not stop his plan from coming to fruition. Even if he was aware of their progress, he would still behave in the same way; after all, with the strength of his weapon, he could bring Tyrol under his control even before they arrived. It was the beginning of a new era, the German era, the era in which Berengar would crown himself emperor!
