Adela was currently inside her room reading letters from Berengar; despite the fact that Berengar was at war; she made sure to send letters to her women as often as possible, tell them about his big win at Tyrol. The teenage girl twisted one of her golden twintails as she lay on her stomach on her bed with a smile on her face. The news he had read was excellent; the Northern Lord of Tyrol had all surrendered to Berengar, recognizing him as the current authority in Tyrol, and giving him little support they could manage.
Ever since her older brother Gerhart fooled herself and sparked their father's ire in his failed attempt to destroy the relationship between Berengar and Adela, the young girl has largely remained to herself. In addition to eating with the family, she would stay in the room and repeatedly read the letter Berengar had written for her. She wishes she was in Kufstein to give help to the man she loves, but unfortunately, she is in Graz for now. Although Vienna was under siege and his father was at war, Graz was at peace, albeit on alert.
Surprisingly, Adela and Linde have been corresponding through a series of letters and seem to be getting closer. However, there was still competition between the two as they both wanted to monopolize Berengar's attention for themselves; regardless of this competition, it was not, there was a kind of hospitality between the two young women as the two of them discussed their concerns over Berengar's safety and the desire to be with him again.
After reading Berengar's last letter for the third time in the past three days, Adela sighed and voiced her concerns loudly.
"Stay safe, Berengar..."
After which, he heard a knock on his door and quickly hid the letter under his mattress before opening the door. On the doorstep was his second brother Heimerich; the teenage boy was wearing a light blue doublet with a matching jerk on it. His entire outfit is set in a fashion sense where Berengar has been introduced throughout Austria, which is very similar to the Tudor style from his previous life. There was a stern expression on the handsome young man's face; his charming facial features were as strong as Lambert's. He truly exemplified the archetype of a young Knight. He was seventeen this year and carried an aura of martial authority. Seeing the expression on Heimerich's face, Adela instantly became worried about what might happen forcing the young man to be like that.
Before Adela could ask what was going on, Heimerich said in a serious tone
"Come to the Great Hall; I have news of father to report to the family."
"Dad was on his way to Vienna, he was caught in a Snowstorm in the Bavarian Alps for the past few weeks, which is why he lost contact, he has lost a fifth of his army due to friction, he said, he therefore suspected that he would be outnumbered when he tried to take back Vienna from the traitorous Prince Lothair. As for the state of Vienna, the Castle has not yet fallen, but the city has been completely taken and destroyed by the occupying forces. Father expects a heavy resistance and has asked for our prayers ..."
Adela's family cheered as they frantically prayed for God's protection for the head of their household. The only member in the room who didn't bother much about this news was Adela, this was because she learned of the destruction of a quarter of Count Lothar's army in Kufstein. After all, he had already been informed of the events that had happened by Linde. Although his father had to besiege Vienna to defeat Lothar, he would have an advantage in numbers even with his losses from friction.
War is a dangerous business, and no matter how protected one is, anything can happen that can lead to their death on the battlefield. Thus, the lives of their loved ones who were at war in some faraway Austrian territory were in the hands of God, and they could only pray for His mercy. As a godly girl, Adela joins her family in prayer to God to protect her father, as well as Berengar, as they both continue to fight for their family and nation.
After being informed of her father's situation, Adela realizes that she has the ability to help her father's siege by asking for support from Kufstein; therefore, she returns to her room, where she is, where he quickly writes a letter to Linde informing him of the current situation with Vienna. Due to Berengar's conquest of Tyrol, Adela was doubtful whether she would be able to accept his request for help before it was too late; therefore, she sent a letter to Linde, which she had not yet heard, all he knows is currently acting as Berengar's replacement inside Kufstein.
The letter contained an official request for material assistance to Count Otto's forces to eliminate Count Lothair and his allies in Vienna. Adela knew that Kufstein was not in a position to divide his army and attack Lothair where he was at his strongest; however, he was not in a position to divide his forces, he also knew that Kufstein's agricultural and industrial sectors were larger than any other region in Austria, and therefore, he requested logistical support from Kufstein for his father's siege of Vienna.
Adela was quite worried; although she and Linde were no longer direct enemies, they were also not allies. She asks the young woman to act on behalf of her romantic rival in order to capture or eliminate her own father. Although Linde had already greatly betrayed her father and his plans, the act on behalf of Berengar, whom she loved dearly, whether or not she would provide logistical support to Count Otto and his troops had not been determined.
After signing the letter with her signature, Adela quickly handed it over to an envoy who was about to travel across the Duchy of Austria, where she would hand it over to Linde in Kufstein. Hopefully, the young teenage girl can receive Kufstein's support and greatly increase her father's chances of victory and, more importantly, survive.
