Steel Empire
Run From Home

While Berengar was preparing for war to destroy the Austrian rebel nobles and his power, the Byzantine Emperor held a banquet; a feast had been prepared for the Prince of France.

The latter had chosen to stay on the brink for now. It was now the seventeenth birthday, and therefore, Emperor Vetranis prepared a massive event for his future son-in-law.

Despite Honoria's protests, she is dragged from her room and forced to sit next to her effeminate fiance. However, he refused to interact with the young man and kept silent as he ate his food with a depressed expression.

Despite Aubry's best efforts to win Honoria's heart, the young woman refuses to get along with him remotely. This made things complicated for the Byzantine Emperor and the French Host. Finding, this young couple was going to get married in a few months, and they did not even speak.

Eventually Aubry gave up on taking a friendly look at Honoria and began teasing one of her brothers, a man she tried to get along with her roughly Berengar's age. Like Berengar, he had proven himself to be a capable commander despite his young age and was an officer in Arethas' army.

The man's name was Decentius; he had short brown hair and deep emerald eyes. Unlike Honoria, her skin is olive-colored. He is also quite tall, at least by his people's standards, and has an athletic body, which is stacked with muscles. One could see his muscle lines from his purple and golden tunic wrapped around his body.

Her extremely masculine appearance was something that Aubry greatly admired, and as such, she was happily happy with the man or trying to do so. So while Honoria was observing her fiance, the boy teased another man in the midst of his presence.

"What's your name, handsome?"

Right now, Aubry was resting his feminine face in his tiny hands while smiling sweetly, a smile that a young man like himself would not normally have. The sight instantly made Decentius uncomfortable; therefore, he dressed the face of the beautiful boy before answering.

"Decentius..."

immediately the expression when it appeared on Aubry's face he tried to continue the conversation further.

"That's a strong name, really worthy of a sturdy man like you. Tell me, Decentius, are you a soldier?"

Hearing this praise, Decentius began to have a proud expression on his face as he boldly declared his achievements.

"I am not just a mere soldier, but Tourmarch, second only to the great Strategos Arethas Maniakes!"

Aubry had no idea what Tourmaches were, but he knew it was some kind of high-ranking officer. In the Strategos team, Tourmaches is the next level of command directly under the Strategos position. So Decentius had quite a position and had served much in the war for Egypt, which had reached Alexandria by this time.

Aubry cared about his exploits and shut his mouth, gaping in mock shock before praising Decentius further.

"I didn't know you were such a powerful and capable commander! Would you give me some advice later, maybe in person?"

Honoria had watched her older brother blatantly tease another man, and it made her stomach churn. It's pretty clear what Aubry wants. However, men often fall in love with a pretty face, even if it sticks to a boy, and so Decentius foolishly goes into the trap. Honoria could no longer hold back the sight and directly punished Decentius.

"Brother, please hold yourself. It's okay if you want to tease men in private, but this is a public event, and I'm pretty embarrassed to be your sister at the moment."

As Honoria made her comment, Decentius realized what angle Aubry was playing and immediately realized himself of the boy's charm; in doing so, he coughed before saying.

"It's not like that, Honoria, is it Aubry?"

Aubry glared at Honoria as he pouted; the girl just had to ruin it. He began to understand why men who had previously been in a relationship with him preferred company over their wives. Therefore, she immediately began to respond to Honoria, now that she was certain of getting her attention.

"Are you probably jealous because I gave your brother more attention than you?"

However, Honoria could only walk and walk through it once more.

Seeing Aubrey with her eldest son and Honoria blatantly pointed it out with great anger to Emperor Vetranis. To be honest he didn't want to involve his daughter with a young man like Aubry, but at this point, he didn't have much of a choice, France would prove to be a powerful ally, and it's not like there's a man; his little daughter will approve.

He was too picky when choosing a man, and Vetranis was well aware of his vast criteria. In his eyes, it was unrealistic to find a qualified, strong, and domineering man while still trying to be kind, loving, and gentle. Moreover, the standard of physical appearance that the girl had.

Because of this, Vetranis decided to lay down and immediately started barking at Honoria's inappropriate behavior.

"Honoria! you can face towards this banquet, then why don't you go out and go back where you can do your act! As punishment for your inappropriate behavior, you will face the room tonight. !"

Honoria immediately began to protest this decision; in her mind, she had done nothing wrong. Therefore, he beat his petite on the table with an angry expression on his face.

"But father-"

However, before he could finish his thinking, Vetranis stood up from his chair and pointed towards the exit.

"Nothing but! Go to your room, and stay there until you can decide to stop acting like a spoiled child and behaving like a woman who fits your position!"

Being scolded loudly, especially when in public, immediately made the green eyes filled with tears, and therefore, inside his room. He could not understand why he was being punished in such a manner. He only shows forbidden behavior between his foolish brother and his strange fiancee. Why is he a bad guy?

that, he quickly entered the room and slammed the door behind before locking it. She was half an hour crying on her bed before wiping away the tears from her eyes and gritting her teeth. If this is the future, to the extent that she will marry a feminine man who does earthly relations with other men while she has to watch from the side with disdain, so he prefers to choose himself out of it all. .

But where is he going? He had no money, no supplies, and no allies for music. Damn, he had never even been outside the palace before. The girl quickly rolled over her desk furiously, and in doing so, a map rolled itself over on the surface, filling in it. The map of Europe is very detailed, showing the dukes and each of the counties that comprise them.

As the map opened wide, it caught his attention, seeing the Duchy of Austria on the open map directly explained to the woman about the image of Beren that he had imagined in his head some time ago, giving her a brief explanation. a little hope amidst the despair that had been coveted. This suddenly gave him an idea, just maybe, if he went to Austria and met Count Berengar, he could prevent his bad luck.

However, he only had a vague idea of where Berengar lived, as Aretha did not explicitly state where Berengar was the Count. Luckily, there was a hint in his full name. He quickly placed his finger on the Austrian map before speaking his mind out loud.

"If I recall correctly, the surname of the German nobility is considered to correspond to the area of origin of their power; if so, would Berengar mean that it was from Kufstein? But where is such a location?"

Curiosity has taken hold of the young woman at this point, and she quickly goes to her unique bookshelf, where she immediately picks up her atlas. It contained various maps consisting of known worlds, and as such, he scoured its resources to find Kufstein's location.

Although the information in the atlas was largely outdated, it was enough to roughly estimate the trip he had in mind. One thing was certain; if she lived in Constantinople, she would indeed be forced to marry Aubry. After all, his already-teen birthday was near, and as such, he only had a little time before he was sold like an ordinary mule.

After her journey, Honoria decided on her route. He would rent a boat to take him from the Bosphorus to the black sea, where he would then take a riverboat across the Danube and to the Austrian border.

He will continue his journey across the Danube and into the Inn river where he will enter Kufstein. It was a long journey, and he knew it would be dangerous. However, he refused to stay in Constantinople and waited for his miserable fate.

the only thing he had was what he would use it for; however, after searching for something precious, he looked at the place of his jewelry which contained many stones and precious metals. Therefore, she took her other jewelry and put it in a sack where she put clothes and other necessities.

Heraclius, his pet eagle, notices his actions and quickly approaches the girl with curiosity.Seeing the curiosity of his best friend and only best friend, Honoria quickly announces her decision.

"We ran away, Heraclius; I cannot stay in this palace any longer. I'm better than marrying a girl like Aubry!"

The eagle was smart enough to understand the words and nodded his head in response, climbing over the girl's shoulder. The eagle would watch him throughout his journey like a protector, making sure no danger befell him during the perilous journey he was about to begin.

After the eagle followed her, Honoria smiled and looked at her head with one finger.

"I can always count on you, Heraclius."

After saying that, the eagle screeched as, and Honoria finished packing her luggage; after doing so, she decided to make a rope out of her sheets and curtains. He proceeded to tie the rope from his bed frame, where he carefully climbed out of his window.

Before exiting the window, Honoria managed to throw her luggage into the bushes below. After finding a solid foothold, he dashed out of the palace courtyard and headed for the city harbor. Hopefully, the young princess can rent a trip before finding out about her departure.
