Birthday Lambert Part 3

After successfully sending a letter to Bishop Innsbruck, Lambert had a big smile on his face. His bad mood changed for the better as he was finally able to see the end in sight for his brother. He also wrote another letter informing Prince Lothar of Tyrol of his plans to involve the Church in their scheme. By branding Berengar a heretic, they would essentially make the entire Christian world unite against him. Or so they believed, at the very least, the Inquisition would not let the young man off just like that.

It was only at night that Lambert finally left his room where he returned to the Kitchen to see his family gathered around the table with German Cheesecakes produced for him. It was a relatively new tradition that emerged in the German world, but not until Berengar arrived did it spread to Kufstein. After all, the man wanted a reason to eat cake. Since it was a tradition that would eventually spread throughout Europe and had taken root in some areas of the German-speaking region, Berengar decided to introduce it to Kufstein for Lambert's birthday. It seemed like he was generous; in fact, he just wanted an excuse to cheat on his diet and enjoy a delicious cake. Chocolate is not in Europe yet. Rather,

Berengar, of course, took the liberty to add his own candles and began that tradition several centuries earlier. It was his birthday, and Berengar would be damned if he didn't do it right! It didn't matter if it was for his greatest enemy; the reason for starting the tradition was the reason for starting the tradition. The family sat around the table and lit a candle, where Berengar looked at his sister with a gentle smile.

"Make a request, Lambert, then blow out the candles!"

Therefore, Lambert thought to himself.

'Saying a hope? I don't get the point, but whatever, I wish you'd die!'

After which, he did what Berengar said and exhaled deeply into the candle which extinguished their flames in the process. Unfortunately for him, his wish did not come true. After that, everyone lined up to give the gifts they had obtained to Lambert. From his mother, Gisela, he received a nice doublet produced in one of Berengar's factories. From his father, he received a new steel long sword that was superior to the one he had before, as it was made of high-quality high-carbon Bessemer steel. She receives childish family pictures from Henrietta, and from Linde, she receives nothing... Her fiance did not give her any gifts at all; well, technically, she had. He just didn't realize it. His reward for Lambert was having an affair with his older brother in his own bed.

Finally, it was Berengar's turn, and everyone expected him to give something strange to Lambert; after all, Berengar was in charge of the industrial sector within the region. But before Berengar gave him the box containing his gift, he said something that left Lambert confused.

"My gift was a trophy from my hunting trip where I went with our father not long ago. Open up and see what it is, little brother; I'm sure it will cheer you up ..."

When Berengar said those words, he had an evil grin on his face that gave Lambert a bad feeling about the reward he had in his grasp. His hands began to tremble as he slowly opened the box and looked inside. Inside the small box were four mini-ball projectiles, slightly twisted in shape and covered in blood. That's really a strange thing. However, the words coming out of Berengar's words spread terror to every corner of Lambert's mind.

"I managed to dig it out of my murder corpse. This is my trophy of hunting success, and I want to dedicate a part of my past that means so much to you, little brother!"

It was a strange gift to give to Lambert on his birthday, and therefore confused everyone except Lambert, Linde, and Berengar. He continued to look up among the evil smiles on Berengar's face and down at the blood-stained bullet-like projectile in his hand. It instantly clicked on his head what Berengar meant. Lambert had sent four assassins to deal with Berengar in the hunt, and there were four pieces of bloody lead inside this box. Does that mean Berengar killed those people? That they didn't escape from the start? How is that possible? According to Berengar, the hand cannons did not have very effective range and long reload speeds. How could he have fired four shots and killed all four men perfectly? This is clearly a Berengar threat to Lambert,

However, the more Lambert tried to rationalize it, the more he realized Berengar could not kill people with these tin balls; his brother was probably aware of the fact that Lambert had sent assassins to pursue him and mess with his mind. It was not that Berengar could fire his hand cannon as far as the bow; it was absurd! Thus, the sixteen-year-old boy finally calmed down and countered Berengar's attitude with a friendly smile.

"Thank you, Berengar; I will always appreciate it!"

Berengar smiled back at Lambert and nodded in agreement

To everyone in the room, it seemed that the two brothers were quite friendly with each other and on good terms. Unfortunately such a thing cannot be far from the truth. If they knew that the two boys were fighting desperately to find a way to place each other in the grave, it would definitely cause a disturbance. After receiving his gift, Lambert immediately dug up his cheese cake with a satisfied expression. He did not know the genius who discovered such a thing, but it was truly a piece of heaven. Families mingle together as they discuss the future while snacking on cookies. Finally, Berengar mentioned something that would definitely antagonize his younger brother.

"So, my sister, I heard your marriage has been moved. It should be close by now that you've grown up, shouldn't it?"

Gisela's expression immediately stiffened as she looked at Linde menacingly; now, Linde was already used to such gazes from the Baroness and did not care. Lambert, on the other hand, almost choked on the cake. Berengar was clearly trying to make things worse, especially now that Lambert was suspicious about Linde's possible relationship with his brother. However, this marriage was something that he could not back down now. Not unless he can prove that he's not the father of Linde's son. However, it wasn't easy to do, and he didn't even know where to start. It was basically her words that were against him, and her father would never believe that the girl had been impregnated by a man other than her fiance. Of course, he would never admit to such a thing, and because of that, he was basically screwed up. The girl he once admired as the most beautiful woman in the world was not only a woman**** great**, but also a prostitute! At least in Lambert's eyes. From Berengar's point of view, she was a very loyal woman, she was holy until the night they met, and the only reason why it happened was because she drugged her.

Finally, Lambert smiled and hissed between his teeth as he could not think of a way out.

"Yes, I look forward to it every day. Isn't that right, baby?"

he said as he glanced at Linde, hoping to get a reaction from the girl. Now that they were both 16 years old, he no longer held that seniority over him.

Linde looked at Lambert with disdain in her eyes. However, despite his true feelings, he pretends to be nice to Lambert because it is his birthday and his family is around.

"Of course, I don't want another man to be my husband!"

The only person in the room who bought the channel was Sieghard; even Adela could tell the young woman's disgust towards her fiance. It wasn't that he was a bad actor; it was just that all the women in the room already had suspicions about where Linde's affection was really lying, and Berengar clearly knew his true self better than anyone. Gisela hated the young woman her second son would marry. If he had the authority, he would have driven the girl out of his house long ago. Hopefully, when Berengar becomes regent, he can convince her as a mother to use her authority to move Lambert and his loathsome wife to one of the estates in Kufstein city, it was built for the lodging of the visiting nobles for the engagement of Berengar.

Of course, in fact, Lambert will be excluded from the best part of the marriage because Linde will use her pregnancy as an excuse not to sleep with Lambert and will continue to keep her distance from him even after marriage. After this morning's quarrel with Berengar, he was really afraid that his brother would feed him pigs if he forced himself on the girl. Berengar's eyes were inhumane and killed with intent. He had no doubt Berengar would be so cruel to his own blood and flesh. Especially since the two of them were already plotting the downfall of each other.

After a long day of celebration and celebration, the family finally returned to their rooms. As usual, Berengar tried to finish some work before going to bed. He is currently designing a public school to be built in every Barony resident area and a schedule where not only children but adult farmers have to go through to learn their primary education. It was an expensive investment that would eliminate the huge productivity he was currently experiencing, but it would be worth it in the long run. An educated population is a productive population. Not to mention He would be able to use the public school system to indoctrinate the Kufstein population to be loyal to him and his reformist goals.

So among the list of blueprints, what he created was a printing press, so that he could give everyone a copy of the Bible to study in their own time, and of course, educational materials they need to learn in class. The only problem he faced was finding educated people to teach the masses. Although she was sure that among the contacts she made during her engagement ceremony, she was able to find some educated and pampered nobles to act as teachers for a few hours every day. Thus he spent the rest of his hours devising the right curriculum, designs for school buildings, printing presses, and of course, educational handbooks for each student.

By the time Linde knocked on her door, it was already past midnight; even though they were both tired from the combined training throughout the day, they would still enjoy the comfort of each other as they*ndok together and fell asleep in the vault with each other. After all, it was quite a pleasant day for the couple. In the coming days, Linde will start building a case against Lambert for the man she loves. Time is very important and it is best to get these things before Berengar becomes a guardian, so he will be able to capture Lambert once he gains the Baron's powers. However, for now, both of them were exhausted from their previous playing time, and just held on to each other's loving embrace and fell asleep in each other's arms. Whatever threats cross their path in the future, the couple will face them together.
