Steel Empire
What a Beautiful Dream

After the drama that occurred during his stay in Graz, Berengar finds himself in an awkward position; his; Adela is not talking to him at the moment due to some complicated reasons that make Berengar too boring in social matters to understand well.

As Berengar thought about this matter, he had no way out, he heard a knock on his door. Therefore, he carefully opened the door and peeked out from the crack inside. In the doorway was Adela, who was still wearing her white and gold clothes from before.

He had a pouting expression on his face, although it no longer contained the anger of a woman who was scorned, and therefore, Berengar slightly loosened his guard while opening the door slowly. Once the door opened at least, Adela pushed into the room and sat on the bed with her hands crossed and her cheeks puffed up. After a long, awkward silence, Berengar was the first to start the conversation; he decided to bite the bullet and apologize.

"I'm sorry if I offended you; I shouldn't have mentioned Linde's figure when defending my actions ..."

Berengar stared at Adela for a while with a puppy look in his eyes before the young girl finally spoke.

"Do you really think I'm angry because you called Linde's body nearly perfect?"

Berengar looked at Adela in confusion; he had no idea why he was angry if not for her calling his rival. However, those were not the words that came out of his mouth. Instead, he simply questioned his expression.

"Almost perfect?"

This immediately caused Adela to frown again, and she quickly scolded Berengar.

"Don't push it!"

Seeing his mood rapidly deteriorating, Berengar decided it would be best to close his trap and thus accept his scolding from his future wife as a man. Adela, of course, was very happy to do so; therefore, she began her studies by asking Berengar simple questions that she did not expect.

"Listen, you don't know in the slightest why I'm angry, do you?"

Berengar shook his head; at this point, it was better, to be honest with his fiancee and she acted accordingly. Seeing her reaction, Adela sighed before loosening her posture and collapsing on the bed, where she lay on it before revealing her long and complicated thought process.

"Initially I was angry because you said you weren't tempted by Ava's body at all because Linde's body was better, I had time to think about why it was happening, she said, and I finally concluded that I was worried about the future; when I finally grew up to be mine. The full figure, which would most likely change like any other woman in our family, was, that you wouldn't be interested in me one bit, because you have Linde ... "

Berengar listened to Adela's grievances carefully and realized that this was a worry he had never even considered a possibility; however, before he could overcome his worries, he sat up from the bed and crossed his legs while resting his doll-like face in his hand where he continued to look at Berengar menacingly. Soon her tone changed from understanding to wrath, which caused the hair on Berengar's neck to surge.

"Then I realized that such a thing was impossible. Even though Linde's body is very well proportioned, so are many women in our family! Ava used to have a better body than she does now before she had her three children, so obviously, it's not that you find her unattractive, as I know you're like a full-bodied woman! When I realized that, I knew that you lied to me because you were afraid to tell the truth, that my sister's body resurrected you! I'm right, aren't I?"

A thirteen-year-old girl is lecturing Berengar about finding her older sister attractive; Adela is certainly right about money; Berengar is lying to her to defend her actions. Therefore, he sat on his knees with his head bent like a little boy who was lectured by his mother for lighting a fire in the living room. After Berengar's silence filled the room, Adela snapped at him.

"Well, right?"

Berengar quickly nodded his head in affirmation without saying a word, which Adela thought was incompatible with the famous Tyrant of Steel, so much so that he laughed before making fun of her.

"Why are you so scared? Not that I'm gonna cut off your head ..."

Berengar, of course, took a while to gather his thoughts before he let out a losing sigh.

"After making love to Linde, I felt like I was walking on thin ice around you as if I was one more mistake than you leaving me, and I was afraid of something like that. So I lied about thinking your sister was attractive because I felt if you found out the truth, you'd think I was stupid and depraved and left me."

After hearing Berengar tell the truth about what he felt, which was all he missed, tears began to form in Adela's eyes. He had no idea that he felt like he was walking on eggshells the whole time he was around, and such words attracted his heartstrings.

"Stupid! I will never leave you!"

Berengar struggled to prevent a smile from appearing on his face, but it was a losing battle. As a huge fan of anime and manga in her previous life, she had always wanted a fairy tale lap pillow, but even after living two lives, she had never experienced anything like it until now.

While Berengar laid his head on Adela's lap, he began to caress her delicate golden hair, completely unaffected by the oil that coats his fingers as he did so. The two sat like that for quite some time, to the point that Berengar was almost asleep.

Unfortunately, the charming scene ended when another knock appeared on the door. The familiar voice behind the door belonged to Ava, who had come to make amends with Berengar.

"Listen, are you inside? I came to apologize for my actions..."

Both Berengar and Adela pouted as they realized who was knocking on it, this little fox had caused so much trouble between the two of them in such a short period of time, and here he ruined their reunion.

However, Berengar decided to get up from his relaxed position and head for the door where he opened it, leaving Adela disappointed, who pouted where she was kneeling. After opening the door, she scowled at Ava which instantly frightened her, especially after the conversation she had with her father.

However, Ava swallowed her pride and immediately lowered her head respectfully before apologizing.

"I'm really sorry for what I did; I hope you can forgive my husband and me for our actions!"

Berengar only mocked her reaction; he chose a terrible time to apologize, all he managed to do was torture her further by disturbing her heavenly lap pillow! At this moment, Ava sees Adela in her room, and she realizes that she may have been interfering with something important. Especially when he considered the way the two looked at him.

However, he was already here and had ruined the atmosphere, so he had better settle this; therefore, Berengar looked at him indifferently before sighing heavily.

"Supon, we are family, so I'll let it go just this once, but you and your husband owe me a favor for being so kind!"

Hearing Berengar's command instantly gave Ava goosebumps as she recalled herself before nodding in agreement with Berengar.

"Of course, whatever we can do to help, we will gladly return the favor!"

After agreeing, Berengar chased away the woman; he no longer wanted to be around her.

"If that's all, leave us!"

Seeing Adela giving him a deadly look, and Berengar was no different, Ava quickly bowed before running off into the distance. After doing so, Berengar closed the door and returned to Adela, where he had a smile on his face, before asking Adela the question in his mind.

"Now, where are we?"

After witnessing the grin on Berengar's face, Adela's cheeks flushed in embarrassment before she muttered.

"This once!"

Seeing the girl had received it, Berengar immediately jumped back onto the lap pillow, where he quickly fell asleep. After falling asleep, Adela simply looked at her sleeping face lovingly before kissing her forehead.

"What a beautiful dream!"
