Unfortunately, the romantic moment between Adela and Berengar did not last long. As soon as it started, Ava rushed into the room; she practically billowed from the anger in her heart. If stares could kill, Berengar would have already died.

Berengar only laughed at Ava while Adela stared confusedly at the two; after taking her time to enjoy the moment, Berengar finally answered Ava's question with his own.

"What exactly did you tell your husband that would make him so angry that he deliberately sought me out so that he could attack me?"

Ava quickly realized what had happened. She exaggerated the incident this morning to her husband, even accusing Berengar of taking the keys to her bathroom so she could peek at him. Afterwards, Wolfgang was completely outraged by Berengar's alleged behavior and took revenge on behalf of his wife, resulting in the current situation. However, before Ava could play the event any further to her advantage, Berengar broke the silence and added a statement to her question.

"Other times, you should choose a better attack dog; your husband is a worthless fool." 

Berengar grabbed Adela's hand and began to lead her into the corridor as Ava shouted from a distance.

"You think you can peek at me in the bathroom, and there will be no consequences? I wonder what your fiancee thinks of your actions!"

Adela was quite surprised by this accusation and looked at Berengar with cautious eyes; although she wanted to believe that she would not do such a thing, she had cheated on Linde in the past. She knew that her sister was an attractive young woman and could easily capture Berengar's gaze. 

Seeing Adela looking at him in such a way, Berengar's anger was completely provoked by Ava; instead of tolerating her words, and trying to explain her actions politely, he said, he walked up to the woman and turned his face before responding to her accusations.

"Whore! First, you tried to seduce me, then when I turned down your offer, you made your dog sick! Now you're slandering my reputation! Since you are my cousin, I will be lenient, but this is your last warning, come to me again, and I will make sure that you and your husband share the same unmarked grave, now go out of my sight!"

After Ava escaped from the scene, Adela began to frown at Berengar, and when she turned to look at him, she realized that she had not fully escaped. Before he could protest his innocence, Adela caught him off guard with a question.

"Stop Ava's bullshit, do you really expect me to believe that Berengar is the one at fault here? Since you have returned to this Castle with your idiot husband and your three children, you have done nothing but create trouble with Adela. I've let your childish scolding go long enough; for God's sake, you are a Countess and a mother; think of your position before you go around trying to seduce your sister's fiance!"

Ava dumbfounded. Berengar had met his father first and had told his story from his side, which was basically the truth of the matter. He began to pout at his father and plead with him.

"Dad, please!"

However, the Count shook his head before reprimanding his daughter once more.

Ava quickly crossed her arms and said in an inappropriate arrogant voice

Seeing his daughter suddenly realize his intention, Otto continued his efforts to scare her into not messing with Berengar in the future.

"Tell me, Ava, if the man is willing to commit such cruelty to his brother, what do you think he would do to his cousin and her stupid husband? That man will one day be the Duke of Austria, won't he? bothering your little sister that it deserves to be a monumental enemy?"

Ava instantly recalled the threat of Berengar's separation and felt a tremor on her back, forcing her to sit on the chair next to him as she thoroughly pondered her actions. Only then did he realize the end of his father's sentence.

"What do you mean he's going to be Duke?"

Count Otto just shook his head and told his daughter a little about the ongoing political battles in Austria.

Vienna has fallen, Berengar has made a ploy to claim the title of Duke after he drove the Bavarians off our land, and make no mistake, he has the power to do it ! You must apologize to Berengar and your sister before irreconcilable grudges are formed."

Realizing the grave mistake she had made, Ava quickly became cold sweat and secretly swore in her heart that even if she had to sell her body to Berengar to mend their relationship, she would not be able to do anything, he will resolve this conflict no matter how much it costs. . 

Of course, Berengar had no plans for such a thing; now that he had two loyal women by his side, he did not need a third. He always said two women is the perfect amount for a man to have. The only way he would entertain the idea for the third was if it meant forming a critical alliance with a powerful Nation. Instead, she will need time to find a way to utilize Ava and her husband's apology in a way that benefits her interests.
