After the battle took place, there were many reasons to celebrate the great victory obtained by the militia forces. After finishing their first battle with the new weapon, the men consisting of Berengar's forces were fully confident to defend their territory from any invading force, and more importantly, to defend their territory, in the command of Berengar. The fact that Young Master is standing on the front line facing down wave after wave of enemies alongside his troops will be talked about throughout the villagers of Kufstein for months to come.
Berengar, on the other hand, promised a grand celebration after they cleared the battlefield; they could not let the hundreds of corpses lying in the fields rot. Thus, after much effort, the Militia had dug a series of mass graves in which they buried Ulrich and his army. Berengar would have trouble explaining his overwhelming victory to his father if he were to tell the truth. Despite the desire to brag about his achievements, he decided to lie about the battle and completely reduce the outcome. Because the gunmen and knights had now fled from the confines of Barony Kufstein, and the peasants who fought against them were gathered, marched on the walls, and executed, he said, there were no witnesses to the events other than the forces loyal to Berengar,
The story Berengar told to his father about Ulrich's attempts to kill him, his army's gathering, how they built up defenses and defended the position from several hundred peasant levies. The professional power of God is very different from reality. Berengar twisted the scene, making it seem like Ulrich was unaware of the hand cannons, and foolishly attacked the hill with a few men. The lost peasants were explained by fleeing their homes and families for fear of reprisals from the Barons. It was a stretch, but judging from the fact that the knights and gunmen also fled the territory, Sieghard had no choice but to believe it. After all, hand cannons were very effective against the light armor of peasant retribution or its flaws and were frightening to those unfamiliar with the sound.
As for Ulrich's death, Berengar made it seem like a stray shot had penetrated his skull when his helmet protector was exposed; with God's death, his army collapsed and was directed. Sieghard sent a team to investigate the fields to make sure this information was correct but found no trace of the mass grave and only a small grave that Berengar used to mislead Baron and his brother Lambert. As far as anyone knows, the battle was quite small and took place between 200 Berengar militiamen excavated in the mining town and armed with hand cannons against 300 of Ulrich's men who fled with accidental deaths, Their master. After all, in this feudal world, it was considered unacceptable to kill a noble directly if it could be avoided. Men with higher birth rates are given the privilege of ransom. There is no mention of the use of cannons; due to Berengar's earlier misinformation, cannons were considered static weapons and were largely immobile by the uninitiated. So he didn't want to reveal how effective they really were.
After Ulrich's untimely death, his son and heir, who was still a child, was named Lord of Wildschonau; since he was very young, he needed a guardian, he said, that placed Sieghard from a dedicated member in his own palace to ensure the loyalty of the young master who was now his subordinate. He would not let the grieving widow of the boy's traitorous father change God's future allegiance to his subordinates.
As for the foreman arrested, he was the only witness of Berengar in Lambert's scheme against him; however, unfortunately, when the man was brought into the basement of Kufstein Castle, the, he was soon found dead from asphyxiation, it was decided as a suicide because the man allegedly strangled himself to death with a chain that bound him. Berengar, however, knew that this was clearly the work of Lambert and his allies cleaning up their mess. The only witness he had to his brother's tactics was Linde, and Berengar refused to play the card; he was a valuable spy not only against Lambert but also his father. He would not expose such a valuable asset to his enemies in a rash attempt to expose Lambert's intrigue. It became clear that his father's army and guards had been compromised. Evidently,
It took Berengar a long time to explain the turbulent situation that had happened to his father. By the time he was finally able to clean up the dirt and grime from his dirty body, it was already late at night. The paranoia he developed from being trapped in the darkness of a mine pit for days began to appear as he sat alone in the bathtub during the twilight hours. As he heard the door creak open and a light knock of footsteps approaching his location, he felt like another assassin was approaching. When the footsteps finally reached the surroundings, Berengar launched a surprise attack on the would-be assassins, dragging them into a puddle of water and pressing their heads beneath its surface.
For whatever reason, it never occurred to her that Linde entered her bathroom to be with the man she loved. After all, he had been beside himself for the past few days as he waited for news of Berengar's situation. Every day Berengar was trapped, he was overwhelmed with anxiety and despair, to the point that he could barely maintain the facade of Lambert's allies. It took a while for Berengar to realize that he was in the process of drowning his own lover. When she finally came to her senses, she quickly let go of her hand and let the divine beauty reappear from the dirty bath water, where she struggled to breathe. Berengar looked at her in shock and fear, as he acted on instinct, and was unaware of what he was doing until he hurt Linde.
The girl's sky blue eyes were filled with tears as she stared at Berengar in fear; she couldn't help but ask why he was punished so severely.
"What the fuck! Why would you do that?"
Berengar, who was in the middle of a panic attack due to his actions, struggled to breathe, which was extremely painful due to his broken ribs. Therefore, he grabbed her side and grimaced in pain as he struggled to give an explanation to the girl.
"I'm sorry, I thought you were a murderer."
Linde stared at the deep fear that spread across Berengar's clean face and instantly forgave him; he could not imagine the distress and suffering Berengar had endured while trapped in the darkness of the mine by his loneliness for days, wondering when he would finally enter the arms of death. Therefore, she approached him carefully and wrapped her warm body around him, putting her head on his shoulder.
"I'm here for you if you want to talk about it ..."
Only after she felt the warmth and love of Linde's heavenly body did she begin to calm herself down and realize that she wasn't still inside the cave waiting for death. He eventually returns home, and despite the enemies in his midst, those who love and care for him far outnumber them. Quickly, his sense of paranoia and fear turns into intense anger as he takes control of his emotions and begins plotting his brother's downfall. Right now, he still did not have enough evidence to bring charges against that traitorous little brat. He had held out for too long against Lambert, and now he would conspire against his own little brother and bring the little bastard to justice. Justice, not revenge. He could not kill his own brother well and was branded as a kin killer for the rest of his days.
"Linde dear, I have a task for you ..."
Linde has a sparkle in her eyes, though she hasn't been rewarded for her previous actions; she knows it's only a matter of time, and with a new assignment means a bigger reward. Therefore, he immediately answered obediently.
"Yes sir?"
Berengar narrowed his eyes; within it contained a great sense of wrath and a desire for revenge. He was a man who would show no mercy to his enemies, and the recent efforts in his life had made him extremely vindictive, even if he told himself that it was a desire for justice.
“I want to list the names of everyone who has ever helped my brother in his quest to get the inheritance. Who they are, where they live, their weaknesses, and the extent to which they help her. comforted by the idea of taking my life, I want to know it in the right detail! I believe this is something you can handle, right?"
Linde nodded with a big smile on her face as she hugged Berengar.
"Whatever you need, Master."
Berengar stared at the peerless figure of the beautiful young lady next to him and smiled cunningly.
"By the way, I need to give you a gift for saving my life. Do you have a certain desire that I can fulfill?"
Linde blushed by those words out of embarrassment, although deep down she had been waiting for this moment, thus, sitting on her lap and starting to chat*bu with her. The rest of the shower session was filled with voices that, if heard by others, would cause a huge scandal. Nevertheless, those who lived in the castle did not notice a single sound as they enjoyed the time they spent together excitedly. By the time the two left the bath, they returned to Berengar's room, where they spent the rest of their time to continue their fun.
On the other hand, Lambert was awake and filled with terror as he hid within the confines of his large stone room. Attempts to kill his brother have failed, and the foreman uses his name in action. If Berengar had not realized his previous effort, then he would have been conscious by now. Not only that, but one of his greatest allies was now dead, all because the fool carelessly opened his protector. Surely if the basket protector was covered, the stone fired from the hand cannon would be detached, right?
Of course, Lambert had no way of knowing the real way in which Ulrich was killed, nor did it realize that a lead ball fired from a musket would penetrate the bascinet in any way if fired from the right distance. Instead, Lambert felt he got an unlucky break; his plan was leaked to Berengar, probably from someone under his command. However, it could also have come from one of the many workers Berengar brought in, who was suspicious of the foreman's actions. He did not know how the militia and rescue forces arrived so quickly to help Berengar. All of these things contributed to the overwhelming anxiety he felt deep inside his stomach.
Nevertheless, the worst part was that Lambert now had to fear his brother's vengeance and with what had happened lately, he could not help but fear divine intervention on Berengar's behalf. As he is unaware of Berengar's scheme to target his allies, the teenage boy fears a suicide attempt by his older brother as an act of retaliation. So while Berengar enjoyed his time with Lambert's fiancee, Lambert did not sleep in the slightest because he was too afraid of what might happen while he was asleep.
