Collecting Evidence Part 1

Linde sat quietly at the table, enjoying a cup of tea. Currently, he was inside a local tea shop that had recently appeared in the city of Kufstein. Sitting in front of him was Ludolf, who was currently wearing a dark robe whose hood hid his appearance. Right now, he was telling the spymaster about the information he had received about Lambert's latest plan against Berengar. To any audience, they were just a young woman and a young man enjoying tea together. However, the gravity of the topic they discussed in a slow voice was enormous. Ludolf took a sip of his tea before expressing his concern to the woman who handled Berengar's spy network.

"Lambert has written to Bishop Innsbruck, sponsored by Chief Imam Kufstein. The letter contained many accusations stamped against Berengar; the most important charge was that he lied to witches and got along with demons. When the Bishop reads this letter, he will send an inquisition to investigate the matter. As far as the inquisition is concerned, you may be aware that they do not care what the truth is and will try to execute Berengar as a heretic to strengthen the Church's power in the territory."

Linde was shocked when she heard such news. Lambert was really desperate if he tried to tie the church into his plan. Although after thinking about it, such an action did not surprise him. After all, the boy had been cornered by Berengar lately. Many of his allies began to think twice about supporting him further, and even Linde's father, Prince Tyrol, began to think about cutting his losses. If she did not become pregnant, Count Lothar would lose his support for Lambert. Upon awakening, Linde smiled and thanked Deacon for the important information he gave her.

"Thank you for conveying this to me; I will inform the ruler of the Lambert scheme. I believe he will have enough answers to this problem when it arises. Is there anything else I should know?"

Ludolf smiled at Linde as there was more good news the man had for the woman; he bit the pfeffernusse cake before continuing his report.

"There were Lambert allies who began to think twice. If we can get close to him and convince him to switch sides, he might be able to testify about Lambert's bad deeds."

Linde looked at Ludolf carefully as she thought over his words before speaking.

"Who is he? and how do you get this information?"

Ludolf chuckled as he took a sip from his teacup before responding to Linde's question.

"That stupid son of Ser Ingbert has told me his transgressions and has asked for advice on how to proceed. After the deaths of Ulrich and Friedhelm, he began to fear the worst. If he finds out that Lambert's own fiancee is on Berengar's side, then he will no longer have the confidence to support Lambert and might even change it completely."

"Is there anything else I should know?"

Ludolf did have one more important piece of information to tell the Listener. Therefore, he smiled behind his dark veil, which was invisible to others, and revealed the details.

"The von Thiersee family is investigating the Marshal's death; for whatever reason, Lambert is their biggest suspect. Because of this, I have communicated with cell speakers at Thiersee, and he has used his troops to lead the von Thiersee family to the conclusion that Ulrich's betrayal had something to do with Friedhelm's death. Therefore, they had sent envoys to Wildschonau under the guise of diplomatic relations. I don't know what would result from such an investigation, but it is something to look out for. "

Linde finished her tea and snacks before standing up from the table preparing to leave.

"If that's all, then I have work to do; until we meet again, speaker."

Ludolf nodded at Linde as he left the Tea Shop. After that, he slipped back into the Church, where he continued his work as a Deacon.

Linde, on the other hand, has many plans to execute; with these developments, she may be fully able to obtain the evidence needed to bring charges against Lambert. However, Berengar would never do such a thing as long as his father remained in power. However, the moment the old Baron went to the battlefield leaving Berengar to control Barony, he would have what he needed to capture his brother and end this feud for good.

For now, the young woman is heading towards the manor of the Heltzer family, where Ser Ingbert currently lives; she needs to convince him to switch sides if everything goes as she imagined. Because of this, he quickly boarded the Train and traveled across the Barony to a land led by Ingbert's father, a knight in Sieghard's slavery by the name of Helmer.

Hopefully, she can return to Kufstein Castle at the end of the day so she can spend the night with her lover and master. He did not want to spend the night halfway across the territory in the lowly noble house. So he put on a sullen expression as he sat on the Train, which was crossing the ground at a relatively stable speed.
