Steel Empire
Show Him Without Mercy!!

Nearly two months have passed since Berengar completed his business with the Byzantines, and since then, other silk shipments have entered Kufstein as promised. During this period of time, the other merchants who wanted to obtain some Berengar steel had traveled back and forth with enough silver to make Berengar a richer person. However, the most important part of what happened during this time was the progress of the Teutonic Order by crossing Bavaria. They would soon reach the Bavarian Alps, where they would enter Tyrol, and Berengar intended to set a trap for them in the narrow alleyways of the mighty mountains.

Berengar was once again tasked with the responsibility of fighting; however, this time, it would be a much shorter campaign. Right now, he was wearing his beautiful armor, which once again changed to suit the battle conditions. He was wearing three quarters of a blackened steel plate; however, under the armor was a backend steel frame with brass rings in the lower layer of the sleeves; above his hands was a pair of exquisite 16th-century-style plate gloves whose fingers were segmented and blackened while sharing the elegant golden pattern present on his armor. On top of his cuirass, he wore a matching golden sash and a black sword belt with a golden gear containing the great heavy cavalry sword.

He no longer wore a typical waffenrock in the past, and his armored codpiece was displayed entirely on top of his black and gold Landschneckt style pants. The armored codpiece matched the pattern on the rest of his armor. For footwear, he wears a pair of cavalry boots folded around his knee; for his helmet, he has gone from a skullcap and a feathered hat to a more traditional German-style burgonet, who had three rims on top of his skull, not the usual one. Of course, it was decorated with the same intricate gold pattern on the rest of his armor.

Seeing her lover preparing for battle again, Linde couldn't help but frown; her strober blonde hair was now longer and beyond her shoulders, her bangs straight, and a strand of her hair was tied behind her long red-gold curtain. If anything, with this new hairstyle, she was even more beautiful than before. He held baby Hans in his hand as he frowned at Berengar, who left him so soon after returning from the war at Tyrol.

Berengar closed the distance between him and himself and carried him into his metallic embrace before kissing him passionately; after letting go of his grasp, Linde said those words in his heart.

"Don't show him mercy!"

Berengar nodded with a serious expression on his face; he had made the mistake of letting Lambert live, which brought about serious consequences. An army of over 30,000 people was at his doorstep, with the bastard of a younger brother on his head. Although he had roughly half the number of men, he would fight to meet Lambert and end this sibling rivalry for good.

After bidding farewell to his lover and son, Berengar walked out to the courtyard of his Palace, where he mounted his mighty horse Erwin and prepared to meet his army, which was to be seen by his father, they were gathered inside the city gates of Kufstein. After meeting his troops at the gathering point, Berengar noticed the prowess of his troops. Many veterans had been withdrawn from their positions as garrisons and replaced with recruits. After all, having a veteran in his army to maintain order and discipline was essential to victory, especially against an army as large as Lambert's.

Standing in front of Berengar were roughly 15,000 people, 10,000 of whom were infantry, all wearing brilliant black, gold, and white clothes, with armor half-steel plates and blackened burgonets. As for the NCO, their armor was coated with a simple brass decoration, the, and Officers have more brass ornaments in their armor that allow their ranks to identify the people in charge and follow their orders quickly. About half of the infantry were equipped with the 1417/18 Rifle; others still used the standard 1417 Land Pattern rifle, smoothbore. As for the remaining 5,000 people, it was a mix of Cuirassier and Artillery.

When compared to Lambert's army, which, in addition to 10,000 men, was filled with mere peasant levies, Berengar's forces were much more impressive. With this sight, Berengar began to feel that his vision for a large army that would humiliate Napoleon's elite army was beginning to take shape.

"For March!"

with that statement, Berengar's forces once again prepared for battle. The citizens of Kufstein gathered on both sides of the march to show their support, fully aware that many of these young men would not return. Thus, flowers were laid at the feet of the soldiers who began marching towards the Bavarian Alps.

Driving alongside Berengar was his Field Marshal Eckhard von Hallstatt; he was the one who devised the plan to meet the Teutonic Army in the mountains and ambush them. With superior range and dangerous terrain, Berengar and his troops would be able to make full use of the situation and inflict mass casualties on the enemy before they could clash with his troops in close combat. The more enemies one could kill at that distance, the better. Berengar, of course, was still worried about the plans given their far more numbers; therefore, he voiced his concerns to Eckhard.

"Are you sure about this? If they enter through different territories, we'll leave our wings open."

Eckhard put on a serious expression as he convinced Berengar of the success of his plan.

"Munich had fallen into the hands of Duke Otto; unless he wanted to clash with the Austrian army, Lambert had to avoid them; they were going through Swabia, particularly through Oberstdorf, to reach Tyrol. Rest assured, our scouts have reported seeing them in the area. When they enter the mountains, we will wait for them; there will be no way out."

Hearing how confident Eckhard was, Berengar heaved a sigh of relief. Although he himself was a good strategist and tactician, Eckhard was a true prodigy in the art of war, and if Field Marshal was so confident in the outcome of this battle, then Berengar had nothing to fear. Therefore, the young Count continued on his journey. With this, Berengar and his army will soon meet the Teutonic Army in a brutal conflict; since Berengar chose to save Lambert's life, he knows the decision will come back to bite him in the back, and the chickens finally came home to roost. Only blood can resolve this brother conflict that has been going on for so long.
