When Love Should Determine

When Love Should Determine
Chapter 119

That morning after learning that she was pregnant, Larissa intended to go to the midwife to check herself and the fetus in the womb. He immediately got ready after breakfast.

Early in the morning saw the wife had dressed neatly Hamzah asked, "In the morning the gini is already neat, where is it going?."

Larissa who was a little disappointed with her husband's reaction when she told him about her pregnancy just answered her husband's cold question. "I'm going to the midwife to check myself out."

Hamzah frowned confusedly. "What to midwives? Didn't you do the test yourself?."

"It's just a test to find out if you're pregnant or not. So now I'm going to the midwife to check on my fetus."

Hamzah nodded in understanding. "Then come on! let me take you back."

"Whatever!." Larissa walked out of the house without waiting for her husband. While Hamzah immediately changed clothes and snatched the motorbike key on the nightstand. "Let's go!" he said after the engine was turned on.

Larissa wrapped her arms around Hamzah's waist in ogah-ogahan, still disappointed by the unhappy reaction her husband showed at the news of her pregnancy.

Arriving at the midwife's house, Larissa immediately entered the examination room. "Can I help you?" ask the midwife shortly after Larissa threw her body on the chair.

"I'm going to do a pregnancy check, ma'am. I just did a test this morning." Larissa explained the intention of his arrival and showed the test results earlier.

"Then come, let me check first!."

Larissa laid her body on the bed that was available in the room. Midwives perform a series of examinations including weight weighing, measuring height, upper arm circumference (LILA), blood pressure, and uterine fundal height.

While doing the examination, the midwife asked a few questions. Larissa answered all the questions according to how she felt.

"Good! please wake up again!" The midwife returned to her seat and wrote a health report on Larissa in the mother and child health book (KIA).

Larissa tidied up her clothes and sat back in front of the midwife. "So, how's my fetus doing, ma'am?" tanyakanya.

"The results of the maternal health examination are good, the fetus is also good. For the time being the size of the fetus can not be seen because of the age of the mother who is classified as very young. If you do ultrasound, it would look big fetus. But for now, it's not necessary."

Larissa nodded at the explanation of the midwife's mother.

"If you're pleased, I recommend taking the ANC test in the lab." added the midwife.

Larissa who in a previous pregnancy never knew or did the ANC was confused. "ANC what, ma'am? How come I never know, huh?."

Madam smiled kindly. "Actually this ANC is a new government program, its implementation itself has only been running for four years. The purpose of the ANC was to reduce maternal mortality (AKI) and infant mortality (AKB)."

Larissa scratched her non-itchy head and smiled shyly. "Oh, it's worth it when I was first pregnant I didn't know. Lha wong I was pregnant already seven years ago."

"Then, what's the ANC itself, ma'am?" ask again.

"ANC or Ante Natal Care, or better known as integrated antenatal services is a comprehensive and quality antenatal services provided to pregnant women with the aim of a healthy pregnancy, safe delivery, and safe delivery, and give birth to a healthy baby."

"ANC aims to determine the existence of pregnancy complications that may occur during early pregnancy, including the history of the disease and surgery. This ANC includes 10 examinations or better known as 10 T, which is weighing weight, measuring height, blood pressure, etc, assessment of nutritional status includes measuring upper arm circumference or LIL, measuring uterine fundal height, determining fetal presentation and fetal heart rate or DCC, screening and examination of tetanus toxoid or **."

"Actually ANC can be done at any gestational age, but sooner will be better, because the results of this test can determine what actions need to be done during pregnancy and before delivery later."

Larissa back the mangosteen. "Okay, ma'am, I'll be doing this in the lab soon."

"Good! for now, are there any complaints?."

Larissa shakes. "No, Mom!" answer's short.

"Yes already! if so I give vitamins and tablets added blood only, yes so that the mother does not limp."

Larissa just cuddle and obey the words of the midwife, after all, all also for her own good.

The midwife took the medicine in question and thrust it at Larissa." This is a medicine that you should drink, the drinking rules are already behind the packaging," he said. "And this is mom's health book. If you want to check again or go to another health facility, you have to take this book as a note."

Larissa got up from the seat after receiving the medicine and health book. "Thank you very much, Mom! then excuse me first" he said, shaking the midwife's hand.

"Together, let's go ahead!" answer the midwife.

Larissa left the room and found her faithful husband waiting in front of the room. "What did midwife say?" hamzah asked when Larissa was nearby.

"said the midwife, everything's fine. But he suggested doing ANC in the lab."

"when are you going there?."

"How about just today? let it be that way.

Hamzah nodded. Yeah, let's get you there!."

Hamzah drove back his motorbike to the village laboratory located near Puskesmas where Larissa was treated first.

...****************...

It turns out that Larissa's assumption that her husband is unhappy over his pregnancy back is a big mistake. It is evident from the amount of attention and affection he gives.

Hamzah never let Larissa go alone. Wherever his wife goes, he always takes her. He turned out to be overprotective, especially after finding out if his wife was exposed to hepatitis B virus (HPV) due to contracting infected.

The results of the ANC test conducted by Larissa showed that he was exposed to hepatitis B virus, which can be transmitted through physical contact. Doctors warned Hamzah to really control his wife's health during pregnancy because it could have contracted the virus in the fetus it contains.

Initially, Larissa was shocked to know this. But the doctor calmed that everything would be fine, only that she could not give birth in a regular Maternity Clinic or even at home, but in a hospital with complete equipment. Because shortly after the baby is born, the baby will get a vaccine to fight the hepatitis virus he suffered.

"What does that mean I have to give birth by caesarean section, doc?" larissa asked when the doctor told her she had to give birth in the hospital.

"That's not necessarily, but it's likely that it could also happen. For now you do not need to worry about it and take care of your health well, so that later you can give birth in a normal way as you want."
