After their discussion the other day. Larissa and mother both waged a cold war. They only talk when they need to, even just a little.
Actually Larissa didn't mean to do that. He just couldn't accept this reality. He was also still upset as to why mother distanced herself from the father's family.
Previously Larissa had also found out the truth of the story of the mother of her old house neighbors who had put in her story, and it was true. He was often sick when he was a baby. And that next door neighbor who used to help mom. There was no family to help him.
But after knowing the truth, Larissa still could not accept the reality. His heart seemed to be petrified. Blaming mom for the bullying that happened to her.
Hopefully there will be a glimmer of light that can destroy the freezing in him. So that he can embrace this reality with open arms.
Even so, he never forgot his duty to help mom sell. She also acted as usual with her husband. Sometimes he also visited the family of the father so as not to break the friendship that has been re-established.
That's why you can never be angry with her for too long. Because Larissa is good at putting herself and can win her heart. Or maybe a mother's heart can not be angry with her child even though he was hurt.
Today Hamzah's mood is bad. I don't know what happened to him. All day long he was angry. Whatever Larissa did was always wrong in her eyes.
The height of his anger is night. At that time they just finished performing the magrib prayer. Fatim was fussy all day because of fever. Mother also gave him a golden banana that she had bought at the market with the intention that he would not fuss anymore
Unexpectedly, Hamzah snatched the banana from Fatim's hand and threw it out. Mom was angry and offended at her actions. "Why did you throw away the banana I gave Fatim? She's my granddaughter. I'm entitled to give him anything."
"I didn't mean to offend mom. I just want to protect my son" replied Hamzah.
"Do you think I'm going to harm your son? Fatim's my granddaughter too, where I might hurt her" Mother quickly replied.
"I'm not saying that you want to harm Fatim. I just said I wanted to protect my son" Hamzah said, trying to explain. "That fatim I wear a necklace to ward off the interference of subtle creatures. And his abstinence is to eat the golden banana. If the taboo is violated, it will turn against the wearer himself."
"All right, that's just your excuse, right! tell me if you don't like me. It looks from your attitude."
"I'm not looking for excuses. That's the truth."
Hamzah does wear a necklace from smart people who serve to ward off interference from subtle creatures. He purposely put it on because he often saw Fatim suddenly crying loudly with a frightened face. His eyes were on one direction. No one can stop her crying.
Once when Fatim was forty days old, Larissa and Hamzah visited the house of in-laws. There Fatim already showed an unpleasant gelagat. But Larissa was not aware of it.
Hamzah knew that Fatim was not just an ordinary cry. He was crying because of the disturbance of the subtle-creature. It could be said that he has a mind that is very sensitive to mystical things, or it could be said that Hamzah is an indigo.
From the beginning Larissa already knew if her husband could see the subtle creatures. According to the mother-in-law, it was all due to her birth day or wetonnya, which is Legion Sunday. So even though he never learned about mystical things, he could see subtle creatures. Some of the creatures even chose to follow him.
When she first got married, Larissa found a little finger-sized dagger suddenly on the dresser. He was confused, because before marriage Hamzah had given the keris to one of his friends when he migrated to the other country. Larissa immediately told her husband.
At first Hamzah was also confused why suddenly the chairman could be there. But then he smiled. "This gris would rather come with me. So he came back to me even though I gave it to someone else. Maybe the current owner can't take care of him" he said. Then he kept the keris back between the folds of his clothes.
So far Hamzah has allowed the creature to follow him, as long as the creature does not disturb him or his family. But in this case the creature is disturbing his son. That's why he took action by wearing the necklace.
Hamzah had already explained to Bu Ani about his actions earlier. But unfortunately Bu Ani did not want to accept it, even tend to blame. Perhaps this was because Bu Ani did not believe in such things.
Larissa who had seen the incident was as surprised as mother. She deeply regrets her husband's attitude. He knew if Hamzah meant well, it was just a wrong way.
What makes Larissa sad, mother threw Hamzah out in front of her eyes. She couldn't do much, let alone defend her husband. Because what Hamza did was wrong.
If Hamzah could have been more gentle and could have kept mom feeling, maybe none of this would have happened. Although what is meant is good, if the way of delivery is wrong it will cause misunderstandings. Just like what's happening right now.
My mother cried after the incident. Larissa came over to calm him down. "Mom, no, don't cry anymore" she said, wiping her arms. "I know you're angry with Hamzah's attitude. But please, don't drive him out of this house, ma'am."
"Mother doesn't want her to stay here. I don't want to see her face anymore!."
"If mom kicked Hamzah out, then what about me. Can you see me living without a husband?."
Mother wiped her tears and looked at Larissa intensely. "If you want to follow your husband, just come along. I won't ban you. One thing you need to remember, if you choose to come with your husband, then there's no place for you here."
Larissa was stunned to hear mother's words. He could say nothing more to change his decision.
Meanwhile, Hamzah rushed out of the house without another word. He did not even look at Larissa. That is Hamza's attitude. If he feels innocent, he will not budge and apologize first.
Larissa looked at her husband's departure with feelings that were hard to decipher. Tears are breaking. He was in a dilemma, not knowing what to behave. "Oh my God, why do YOU repeatedly put me in such a difficult position? why did YOU come back to make me have to choose between mother and husband? Can't they just unite?" larissa Lament.
