"Where are these house letters? give it back to me now!" said Ms. Ani one morning.
Larissa was shocked to hear her mother's words. "What's up, Mom? Why did you suddenly ask for this house letter back?."
"You don't want to take care of your mother anymore. So, the mother will give it to the person who wants to take care of the mother, "he said.
Larissa was disappointed to hear the words of her mother. He could only stroke his chest hearing the reason. Without saying much he immediately took the letters of the house in his wardrobe and gave them to his mother. "These are the letters, ma'am. Take that! Hopefully that person will really take good care of mom."
Bu Ani took the letters from Larissa's hand and kept them under the mattress. He didn't even feel guilty for his son. "Of course it is. You're not worried, because that's for sure!," he replied.
"Luckily, I followed my husband's words in order to use the money to buy land. If at that time I used it to renovate this house, then now I would have nothing" Larissa murmured as she passed from before her mother.
Hamzah saw Larissa talking to her mother. But because he was busy at the time, he did not pay much attention to what their conversation was about. But when he saw the change in the look of his wife's face, he could catch that something was not right. "What's up, Encus? why is your face suddenly moody?" he asked.
Larissa hunchback. She did not want to tell the cause of her change for fear that her husband would be angry. He answered with a head.
Hamzah did not give up. He knew Larissa was hiding something from him. "You're lying, you're hiding something from me. Now tell me what's going on?."
Larissa remained adamant about not telling the truth. "There's nothing, Entik. I'm not hiding anything from you."
"I saw you talking to mom earlier. Does this have anything to do with it?."
"It's nothing. We're just plain talk."
Larissa kept denying it by saying that everything was fine. But Hamza also did not give up. He urged his wife to be honest. "I'm sure you're lying. Your face says you're not okay."
"Now tell me, what did your mother say?."
Because it continues to be urged Larissa could not dodge anymore. He also said the cause of his gloom. "Mother is asking for the letters of this house back," she replied briefly.
"Then?."
"Yes I gave all the letters to mom."
"Then why are you so moody now? Are you sorry you gave it to me?."
"That's not what makes me sad, but the reason she's expressing is the cause."
"What is the reason?."
When Larissa felt sad to hear the mother's words but not with Hamzah. He was disappointed and angry. He was upset because indirectly his mother-in-law did not appreciate his sacrifice so far. "It's true you didn't take care of your mother, but I was the one who took care of her. But isn't that the same?."
Larissa breathed a heavy sigh. "That's it, Let it go! We want to be angry or whatever is useless, because this house is not ours. I didn't really expect this house either. We also have our own home, right? Yes, although it can't be occupied yet!."
"Yes, it can't be that. He has called this house in your name. So legally this house is yours."
Larissa smiled wryly in response to her husband's words. "I had expected before that mom would change her mind at any time. That's why I refused when my mother told me to take care of the letters of this house. I just didn't expect it to be this fast. And what disappointed me even more was why I had to do it for that reason."
A few months ago long before Larissa started building houses there was the management of mass land letters in the village. Bu Ani told Larissa to take care of the house papers they currently occupy. Because until now the house does not have a strong certificate in the eyes of the law.
"Larissa, I heard that there were mass land management services in the village hall office. Take care of the letters of this house using your name. I'll give you this house later but on one condition, you'll have to take care of me until I'm gone."
Larissa did not respond too much to mother's words and even asked back. "Wouldn't my mother and sister Iqbal not want to sign? Then why are you telling me to take care of this house again?."
A few years ago shortly after Iqbal moved house Bu Ani did say will give this house to Larissa as a legacy from him. Hearing the words of Larissa's mother immediately took care of the land ownership papers in the village hall office. But when all was almost finished and just a signing left suddenly Bu Ani changed his mind because he was affected by Iqbal's words. That's why when his mother again told him to take care of the letters Larissa house rejected him.
Bu Ani understands that Larissa does not believe him. He tried to convince her by saying, "It's okay. I talked to your sister, and she agreed. But yes, on that one condition. So now you take care of it."
At first, Larissa hesitated. But because he was urged to finally agree. "Alright, Mom! I'll take care of it."
Long story short, finally the land letters were completed. But now Bu Ani instead asked him to come back on the grounds that Larissa did not want to take care of him anymore.
Larissa gasped from her daydream as Hamzah patted her shoulder. "What's wrong? how come?" asked Hamzah.
Larissa shook her head while smiling faintly. "It's okay! I just feel lucky."
"I mean?" asked Hamzah again. Frowning as a sign of not understanding.
"Yes, lucky," said Larissa. "I was lucky because I obeyed your words. If not, we may not have anything at the moment. And if you're gonna kick us out of here, what can we do?."
Hamzah smiled at Larissa's reply. "Now you understand what my reasons were."
Larissa nodded her head. "Yes, now I understand! Forgive me for not trusting you first, and even I accuse you of wanting to pit me against my mother" he said sincerely. "Now I know who's wrong and who's right."
Hamzah smiled. "Easy! We better forget about that. What matters now is that you understand.
They also forgive each other and take the wisdom behind this incident, that do not easily believe in others even though that person is the closest person to us. Because you never know what someone's heart is. Whether he is sincere or just pretending.
