When Love Should Determine

When Love Should Determine
Chapter 21

"You are beautiful and young. I'm sure you can get a better man later."

Larissa fell silent, trying to digest her mother's words. She felt hurt, angry, and disappointed in her husband. But divorce is not an easy thing, it is not a good way out.

Before getting married, Larissa had one wish. He will only marry once in a lifetime. And she'll try to keep her marriage going no matter what happens.

Bu Ani's words couldn't just be blamed. He just wants the best for his daughter. He was blind, and could not read. Poverty is what causes all of this.

Larissa took a breath. He can't make any decisions for now. He does not want to be rash, because every decision taken, will have a big impact on his future.

After a long silence, he finally began to open his voice. "Come, Ma. For now, I don't want to think about it. I want to focus on my pregnancy first."

Bu Ani looked a little disappointed to hear his son's words. But he also could not impose his will.

"Later in the afternoon I'm going to the midwife to check my contents. Mommy wanna drive me?" ask Larissa.

"alright, son. Later in the afternoon, after returning from the stall mom will take you there" replied Bu Ani. "Now you better rest in the back, don't go straight home. It's not good if you're home alone in this condition."

" good, Mom. Thanks very much!." Without a lot of words Larissa passed towards the back. He wanted to rest his body for a moment. His physique was very tired, as well as his psychic.

...****************...

In the afternoon Larissa went to the midwife with her mother. He did not need to wait long, because the midwife was open practice at home.

Larissa came into the room, midwife checked. The condition of Larissa and her fetus is declared fine. Just need more rest and eat nutritious food.

Larissa conveyed her complaints about nausea and vomiting that she had always experienced throughout the day. He also said that he immediately vomited as well as smelling the smell of rice, even though he always felt hungry.

The midwife explained if it is common in young pregnancies. It usually occurs during the first trimester of pregnancy, which is one to three months during pregnancy.

Midwives also provide some vitamins and blood-added tablets so that larissa is not easily tired. He also gave a booster drug, considering Larissa had experienced a miscarriage before.

The midwife suggested that Larissa eat whatever she might be able to eat. Do not let him not get food intake at all, worried even bad effects on the fetus they contain. In addition, he also suggested Larissa consume pregnant milk to minimize nausea. Larissa thanked him and passed.

Arriving at home, Larissa immediately took the medicine given by the midwife. Then he immediately rested. Her pregnancy this time made her body more easily tired.

Larissa could not close her eyes. The words of the mother in the stall continued to ring in her ear. "Do I have to drop this content and ask for a divorce from Hamzah? But this kid is innocent? Why should I punish him for a mistake he never made? Then will I kill my own son?." The questions kept spinning in Larissa's head, leaving her with a huge dilemma.

Without feeling, Larissa's eyes were closed because of fatigue that so whack. He woke up when his stomach felt wrapped around asking to be filled.

...****************...

After a long time of weighing and thinking, Larissa finally decided to keep the fetus in the womb. She would not ask for a divorce from her husband.

Larissa also conveyed this decision to her mother. "Mother, I decided to keep the child in my womb. I also will not be divorced with hamzah" Larissa told her mother, who was relaxing in front of the television.

Larissa held her mother's hand. "Mother, in any religion, aborting the womb is a great sin. It is the same with killing. Do you want me to be a murderer?" larissa said meekly, trying to give understanding to her mother.

Ani's mother fell silent, unable to refute her son's words. He also breathed. "All right! I won't tell you to abort the womb again. But, you should still divorce Hamzah. I don't want you to be hurt by her anymore" said Bu Ani finally.

"But, Mom, Larissa doesn't want a divorce!."

"Are you afraid you won't be able to raise your child if you get divorced? You don't have to worry, it's the mother who will raise your child!" replied Bu Ani with a high tone. "Let's see mom!. I can raise you and your sister without a husband beside me. Take your mother for example."

Larissa sighed, thinking how to explain to her mother. Especially since the beginning her mother did not like her husband. It would be hard to convince him. "Mother, it's not about being afraid to raise a child alone. But more on how my son's growth will grow. Do you want your granddaughter to grow up without her parents?" larissa said at last.

"I know enough how it feels to grow up without a father, it hurts so much. And I don't want my son to feel the same way about me either. God hates divorce, even if it doesn't forbid it."

Ani's mother fell silent, unable to deny her son's words.

Larissa grew up without a father next to her. And he's very hurt about it.

Back when he was still in the orphanage in the city of Malang, he was once said to be an illegitimate child, because he did not know about his father. "Did you come out of the rock like a great ape? so you don't know who your father is?." That was the insult he received at the time.

Larissa was silent when she accepted the insult. Because he knows nothing about his father. His mother never said anything about it. And he didn't want to ask what would make his mother hurt. For him, having a mother with him was more than enough.

"Whatever you want" said Bu Ani at last. "But one thing you need to remember. Don't ever cry again to your mother if one day your husband hurts you."

After saying that, Bu Ani left Larissa who was still pensive to hear his words.

Larissa inhaled and exhaled heavily. He did the same thing repeatedly. "I'm sorry, mother. This time I can't keep your word. This is about the child in my womb" he said.

"I still love my husband, even though he hurts many times. I can only hope, hopefully, this child in my womb can restore the attitude of Hamzah who used to be. A child is not a strap for his parents."

Larissa decides to go to her father-in-law's house to apologize to Hamzah and take her back home. Although he was not guilty, he was willing to apologize first. Is not in a relationship there must be a party who relented for the sake of the integrity of the relationship.
