Larissa finds out how her real father looks by accident. At that time he was tidying his mother's clothes in the closet. Suddenly his gaze was fixed on a dark green book tucked between the folds of clothes.
Larissa grabbed the book and looked at it. A WIFE'S WEDDING BOOK. RELIGIOUS COURT OF THE REPUBLIC OF INDONESIA, printed in bold.
Larissa's hand shook as she read the text on the front cover of the book. "Does this book belong to my mother?" he murmured in the heart. With courage, Larissa began to open the book.
Slowly, Larissa's fingers turned the pages of the book. It turns out his guess is right. The marriage book belonged to his mother. A clear picture of the mother was there, and her name was written. Next to her is a picture of a man who married her. "God, this is my father's true face."
Larissa's tears shed instantly. He took a picture of his father that he could never meet. "Father, if all this time the father and mother were legally and religiously married, why did the father leave the mother? Why didn't Dad ever see me for stuff once? am I a child that was never expected? the son of a bitch?" crying bated.
There were footsteps approaching. He hurriedly put the book back in its place before anyone knew it. Then he put in the remaining clothes.
The door to the room is open. A middle-aged female figure poked out from behind the door. It turned out to be the figure of Bu Ani, Larissa's biological mother. Larissa wiped her tears and acted as if nothing had happened.
"What are you doing here?" I asked her when I saw Larissa in her room.
"I'm putting my mother's messy clothes in the closet. All right, I put in my mother's clothes that I finished washing yesterday" Larissa replied a little nervously. She was afraid her mother was suspicious.
Bu Ani stared intently at Larissa. His view seemed to be introgating. Larissa was afraid of being looked at like that. Worried that his mother realized something was wrong.
Bu Ani sighed. Look her eyes dim. "When it's done, the splinter comes out. I want to rest" he said as he put his luggage down.
Larissa breathed a sigh of relief at her mother's words. "Good, Mom. It also wants to be done" he replied while putting the last shirt in the closet.
Larissa shut the closet doors and rushed out of her mother's room. "Huft, almost there!" he murmured inwardly after he made it out.
That was the first time Larissa knew the face of her real father. Millions of questions kept swirling in his heart as to why his father never came to see him without an answer. And maybe forever, he'll never get an answer to all of those questions.
...****************...
Larissa continued to feel restless thinking about the intention of her dream last night. He could not understand why he suddenly had such a dream. All his life, he never saw the father. Finally, he told his dream to Bu Ani.
Bu Ani looks very worried about the safety of her son when Larissa tells her about her dream. Larissa is pregnant."Go there!. Don't bother my son. I took care of him from childhood. He won't come with you" she said at the time. The purpose of his words was intended to expel the spirit of his father so as not to disturb Larissa again.
This action of Bu Ani is due to his belief that the dream of a deceased person is a bad sign. Especially in that dream Larissa was invited to participate. He was afraid that anything would happen to Larissa.
"You take it easy, son. I'll never let your father take you. I took care of you from childhood. So I have the right to take you" said Bu Ani again while rubbing the youngest child's head.
Larissa calmed down a little after hearing her mother's words earlier. Then he went into the room to break the body. Beside her was her husband, Hamzah who was lying down as well.
"Why are you? from earlier, I had been silent like that. You think I'm a statue!" he screamed as he got out of bed.
"Obviously I'm mad at you. Because of you, I was scolded as hell. I don't really care if you talk from the beginning. I can understand that. But I don't like it when you resign suddenly like that. It can hurt others." cried Larissa did not want to lose. "You know, because of your attitude earlier, the pilot so canceled to sea because of lack of people. Does it not hurt anyone else's name?."
"I told you, I'm not feeling well. That's why I canceled to go to sea."
"That's why you're wrong. You should have talked from the beginning."
Hamzah snorted in annoyance. He rubbed his face rough. "You think pain is predictable? the pain came suddenly. No one knows he's gonna get sick."
Hamzah's speech made Larissa go silent for a moment. But that had no effect on his stance. He still does not want to understand and still blames Hamzah. Making Hamzah more emotionally disturbed.
Hamzah decided not to continue their debate. Free to explain what it is like. Because Larissa herself still does not want to understand. He only thought about his heartache from being scolded by the juragan.
Hamzah got his clothes on and left the house. I don't know where he went, because not long ago he had re-entered the room.
"I told the boss. From now on, I won't go to sea with him again. And you will never be scolded again by him" he said flatly when he was in the room.
Larissa was shocked to hear her husband's words. Didn't think he would act like that. Apparently, his departure was to the house of the jury.
Larissa bowed lethargic. Now he is confused by himself.
Hamzah's words did not stop there. It turns out he still continues his anger. "I'm sorry I married you. You can't understand me."
Larissa was stunned to hear
husband's words. The expression of regret was spoken for the third time from Hamzah's lips. Even Larissa shed tears. "What do you mean say that? Do you want a divorce from me."
"Yes! I want a divorce with you. If necessary, also remove the baby in your womb. I'm taking you to the midwife now to do it. Let's not have any more ties. And it's all over!?" he said with fiery eyes.
The emotions are pouring out already. Either Hamzah was earnest or not when he said that horrible thing.
Larissa's body was on the floor. Her tears were broken unstoppable. The world seemed doomsday when she heard her husband say the thing he feared the most.
"What do you mean say that? Do you really want to do it?" larissa lirih. Tears wet his cheeks.
Hamzah did not answer the question his wife asked. He turned his face away from Larissa's view.
