When Love Should Determine

When Love Should Determine
Chapter 138

Larissa invites her daughter to play guessing by using a medium glass filled with water. The purpose is to explain about the Islamic order.

Larissa asked her daughter to remove one finger at a time from the glass she was holding after giving a little explanation. Until only the index finger and thumb are left from the grasp of the glass.

Zahra seems to have trouble doing her mother's orders this time. It is possible to remove the fingers between the two remaining fingers without making the glass fall.

Seeing her daughter in distress, Larissa chuckled. "what's up? You can't do little orders from mom?."

Zahra Manyun's lips saw her being laughed at by her mother. "It's not that I can't, ma'am, but it's really hard. How can I take one of my fingers off without making this glass fall."

"You're right! because the two fingers can not be separated," said Larissa.

"If you already know that you can't, then why tell me to do it?" ask Zahra sewot.

"There's a reason why Mom told you to do that. And all this is related to the first and second pillars of Islam."

"You mean mother?" asked Zahra, not understanding.

"So gini," Larissa paused her speech for a while and changed her sitting position because her legs felt a little numb because they were in the same sitting position for a long time. "The first pillar of Islam is the shahadah, while the second is the prayer. These two things cannot be separated from each other."

Zahra was silent, listening to her mother's explanation carefully.

"One is said to be a Muslim if he has spoken two sentences of shahadah. You must know how the shahadah sounds."

"Know, mom!" zahra replied, and without waiting for his mother's order, he immediately mentioned the two sentences. "Ashhadu alla ilaha illallah, wa Asyhadu anna muhammadar the apostle. I testify that there is no God but Allah, and I testify that Prophet Muhammad is the Messenger of Allah."

"Good! My daughter is indeed a smart child." again Larissa praised her daughter for the accuracy of the answer she gave.

"Well, this phrase is also referred to as the identity of Muslims. That's why we can't ignore it."

Zahra mangosteen heard his mother's explanation. Larissa continued her explanation.

"Just like the shahadah, prayer is equally important. People are called Muslims if he diligently conducts prayer. You know why?."

Zahra answered her mother's question with a shudder of cluelessness."

"The cause of prayer is the pillar of religion. And the one who does not want to pray, then it means he is knocking down religion."

"And do you know, son, the first practice that God will question in the hereafter is about prayer. If the prayer is good, then he is classified as a lucky person. All his other practices will be considered good. While if the prayer is not good, then he is among the losers. Because all his other practices will not be useful if he does not want to pray."

Zahra was silent a thousand languages heard her mother's explanation earlier. Presumably he began to realize his mistake that likes to be lazy if asked to pray.

"Go back to the glass you held. Till now you won't be able to take off any of your fingers, because they're related."

"Do you understand now why you're always mad if you don't pray, son?" Larissa ended her long explanation by asking her daughter's opinion.

Zahra bowed her head, apparently if she regretted her actions. "Zahra understands, ma'am. Forgive Zahra's attitude all along."

Larissa smiled happily at her daughter's answer. Relieved at last Zahra wanted to understand everything he had done so far. "Come, boy!."

Zahra approached her mother with her head bowed, afraid that her mother would be angry. But all that is wrong, Larissa actually holds her daughter full of affection. "That's it, son, it's okay! Mom said it like that just so you understand how important prayer is. The most important thing now is that you have to promise not to leave the prayer again. Would you promise me that, son?."

"Yes, ma'am, Zahra promised not to leave the prayer again" he said. Both fingers were raised up as a proof of his sincerity.

"Good! My son is a obedient boy. Now turn off the television and we pray Isya' congregation. Now is the time for prayer isya'. The sound of Adzan."

Zahra nodded and turned off the television. Then they took ablution water and performed congregational prayers at home.

Actually Zahra was a smart and obedient boy. It's just that he doesn't understand what his duty is as a Muslim. And it's Larissa's job as a parent to teach it.

Sometimes a child does not need to be yelled at or beaten in order to comply. It is enough to invite him to speak from heart to heart and give explanations using language that is easy to understand by him.
