Bad news came to us over the phone. I got the call late at night. With an angry and anxious face, my mother took us both to the port outside the city that night. Apparently the ship that my father boarded reportedly sank was hit by a big storm.
Hearing that news my heart skipped a beat. I wonder what is the fate of our father? Mother is no less upset. He went to the hospital to check one by one the bodies of the victims that were found, but our father was not among them. We went back and forth from the hospital to the port, waiting for news of our father's dismay not being found. Sometimes we would spend the night there just waiting for news. Mother was forced to take us because no relatives could be cheated on.
Day by day passed. Our father was never found. Hope is also gone. She looked tired and desperate.
I felt something strange about the calamity that befell my father, the storm that suddenly came and my father who disappeared, want to be thought of anyway...
"Rabbits!" I saw him sitting by the window of my room, looking out. He looked at me as soon as I called him.
"Oh Celin, are you back? Hows it? Have you heard anything about your father." He asked like a worried friend. If I didn't know what kind of creature was in front of me, I would probably be deceived.
"No. Not yet" I replied tired. I was really at my frustration point. All search teams have been deployed, but only my father has yet to be found. It's day three. Is it still possible to find it alive.
I wanted to cry thinking that I might never see her again.
"Oh don't cry, baby! I know it's hard for you. I hope your father is found." Hearing his false words I was not amused at all. It makes me even more angry.
"You said you were expecting my father back? Then give her back to me!"
"Don't pretend not to understand, I know this is all you're doing, right? You came to me like a magical thing that could grant all my wishes!" I gripped him and shook the rabbit's body as light as that feather. I think I'm really gonna rip it off.
"Wait on! Wait, baby! I didn't never say it wasn't paid, did I? But you keep asking for it even if you know it."
He's correct. I am the fool for being deceived. I should've been suspicious since Feby. Of the many participants who participated why should Feby who had an accident? Though it could have been someone else I didn't know his face, that way I didn't need to feel guilty replacing him.
But, Rabit chose Feby not without reason. That's because he's 'my friend', 'mine'. Rabit said I'd lose 'mine' as payment, and he never said it was just 'thing'. It could be something close to me, the people around me. I'm fooled.
And right now I have to swallow the harsh reality that I'm going to lose my father too?
Nah! I can't accept that!
I took the scissors out of my desk drawer.
"Wait on! Waitaminute! What do you want to do?" It seemed like he had guessed what I was going to do, therefore he started to panic, as I raised the scissors before him.
