POV Jun
The moon hangs a pearl tub. A taxi skied quickly on a muddy road after the rain, carrying two teenagers inside. I embrace the body of my sister who is sick.
He looked out the window, his feelings anxious and agitated. It's 2 in the morning. Is there still a hospital that receives patients at this hour?
"Sir, how long until?" tanyanya fidgeting. It's been a while, but why hasn't it arrived yet? It's like being stuck and circling in the same place.
"Sorry, sir! It seems that it was because of the thick fog so it could not see the road properly," replied the taxi driver.
What it means we are lost. The driver is right. The fog is very thick. It is hard to see the road ahead.
A woman was standing on the side of the road. My heart is a little awkward to see a girl this hour outside the house. Moreover, the girl still wears an umbrella even though the rain has stopped since.
I decided to stop and ask him the way.
"Stop it, sir! There's someone up ahead. I'll try to ask him for a way."
"Be careful, mom! I feel like there's something weird there's still women out on the street at this hour." Said the driver. I know, but there's no other way.
"Sorry, pardon! Do you know the way to the nearest hospital from here?" my many.
I couldn't see his face because it was covered by an umbrella. He was silent and did not answer. He looked up at the car, then said, "Is he your sister?"
"Really! My sister is sick and needs a doctor as soon as possible" I replied. He then gave me a card.
"Just walk straight ahead. There is a hospital still open. Show the card to the guard in front. They'll help you."
"Thank you!" relieved say. All bad feelings are forgotten. "Where are you going? Will I deliver it too?"
"No need! Just walk! Don't mind me!" the answer. I also went back to the car.
I kept seeing the woman from the rear window of the car, with curiosity mixed in wonder. She's a little older than me. She wears a long white dress. When speaking, her voice is beautiful and pleasant to hear. Is she a singer who just got home from work? If so, he is very brave. I can imagine how pretty her face is covered with that umbrella. Slowly the woman was drowned by the fog.
Oh yes, he also gave me a card. I noticed a black card that I couldn't read. Is this some kind of membership card?
Before long our taxi arrived in front of the magnificent hospital building. I just found out there's this hospital. The building is more like a villa with many floors and rooms.
I carried my sister into the hospital lobby. There were two nurses standing in front.
"Please help me, sister! My sister has a high fever and needs immediate treatment."
The two treatments only looked at each other in confusion.
"Do you know what hospital this is?"
"Is this an animal hospital?" I'm holding back my irritation.
"Of course not!"
"So, do I have to know what hospital this is before treatment here."
I've heard there are special hospitals built specifically for certain families or organizations. Is this hospital like that too?
"If we are willing to give a referral to another hospital if winning is necessary we are willing to lend our ambulance to deliver" the nurse said.
I saw my sister's face turn pale. His breathing was also heavy and his fever was getting higher. He could not travel anymore and had to quickly get help.
"I've been to two houses before I came here and they're all closed. My sister can't travel anymore. Please do! Just this once! Is there no exception?" I beg.
"We apologize but we can't. This hospital has rules. We can be scolded."
I remember the card that the woman gave me. I immediately showed the card to the two nurses. Their expressions turned shocked and confused. They look at each other.
"What's the problem?" A young man appeared.
"Sir Alden!" the two nurses were happy and looked relieved. I don't know who this young man is but seeing the reaction of the two nurses it seems like he has a higher position than this nurse.
He wears a health worker uniform but looks young at 18-20 years old. One of the nurses approached her and told her the problem and showed her the card. The young man looked at him carefully.
"Where did you get this card?" tanyanya.
"I met a woman on the way, she gave me the card and showed me the way here" I replied. "Is there a problem with the card?"
"none. Sorry for the trouble" he said politely. "Please follow me, I'll take you to the treatment room. Your sister should be treated right away, right?"
I followed him and took the elevator. Different from its outward appearance. Featuring inside it looks modern and well-maintained unlike old buildings. They even have a life like a hospital.
Along the hallway were several closed rooms. I don't know if the room has any occupants or not. The atmosphere of the hospital was quiet. The light illuminating the hallway was also dim and not too bright. There are even some sides that are left dark.
Fear began to overwhelm me. To get rid of my fear I invited the young man to a chat.
"The girl who owns the card, is she one of the patients in this hospital as well? Or is he one of the members of the family allowed to seek treatment here?"
" Not both. He works here as our partner."
"Why did he come out alone at night? I don't think it's good to be alone out of these nights."
"Thank you for the attention. He did have a hard disease of sleep, and if so he chose to go out looking for fresh air. But you don't have to worry, he's taking care of himself."
Our conversation ended and we arrived at a room located at the end of the hallway. The young man opened the room. It looks very clean and well-groomed. There's a table bed and a small closet and a sofa on the other side. Like a first-class ward.
"Please put your sister there, and get some rest. I'll call the doctor to check it out right away."
"As long as I'm gone. Please do not leave this room or this hospital. For food we will deliver directly also for you, so there is no need to search outside. Do you understand?"
I nodded in agreement. Then the young man closed the door and left us both.
Ah I forgot I haven't contacted my mom and dad to tell him sister. They're out of town. Maybe this morning I'll be back. I should call them.
Unfortunately, when I checked my phone. There is no signal at all. How'this?
