Followed by the Chaotic Creature
Investigating the mystery of locker no 13

Riri was immediately taken to the UKS. When I looked at him, his condition was very weak. Looks like the teachers took the initiative to take her to the hospital and call her parents.

I went to the school toilet to check on the situation there, because the kids said, before passing out he had a chance to scream. Until now I have not found a subtle creature that frightened him.

The toilet door creaked, the door opened a little. A face hiding inside, peering through the open door. I walked closer to the toilet.

"Bu-not me bothering him! Really!" said the creature in the form of the girl.

Huh! I haven't even asked but it's been answered. Well, he's not an evil spirit. I've met him a few times. Despite his mischievous liking he never hurt a disciple here. So surely he's not the cause of Riri to faint. But he's the only ghost here I can ask.

"Did you see who did it?"

He seemed hesitant to answer my question, "A- I don't know! I don't see anything!" He closed the toilet door.

"Hey, I'm not done talking! Open door!" I cried while banging on the toilet door.

"Don't bang like that. It is impolite to disturb a ghost who is urinating!"

"You are ghosts! Can't do that! Don't fool me!"

He reappeared from the slit of the toilet door. "If it continues like this, people will find it strange again."

I turned to the direction the little ghost pointed at. Without me realizing a student was watching me since. He was standing in front of the toilet entrance. When I saw him, he ran away screaming.

"There is a trance! Help u! He rambled himself while banging on the door of that haunted toilet."

I didn't chase after him, let him run away scared while blabbering incoherently.

"That's right! What I said!"

I just breathe hearing the ghost's words. This is not the first time. Moreover, the toilet in front of me is famous for being haunted and most avoided by students here because he said there was a waiter.

On the way home from school, Angga asked me.

"How are you doing in class? Did you get a new friend?"

"It has. Why ask that all of a sudden?"

"I heard from the children that someone saw you angry with the toilet door."

Without answering I threw my bag over his back and smashed it.

"Ouch! Pain, Mel!

"Neither!"

"I asked because I was worried. Is something bothering you at school?"

"Nothing!"

"Is this about the friend you told me about?"

I kept quiet and didn't answer.

"I heard he passed out in the school toilet. Have you investigated the cause?" ask Angga again.

I'm shaking. "The asthma doctor said relapsing. Lately, there have been many events that have made him depressed. Now he's in the hospital. At least there he's calm."

"I'm not sure. Hospitals are a favorite place of supernatural beings. If he can indeed see subtle-creatures, just like us"

I entered the house without continuing the conversation with Angga.

That night I had dinner with my dad. I look happy because my father's homecoming. Mom cooks all of dad's favorites. Unfortunately, I have no appetite. I've only been stirring up food on my side since.

"Why son? You don't like the food?" ask Dad.

"No, pa. The food's good."

"Are you sick?" ask me again while checking my forehead.

"I'm fine, pa."

"Yes, I see you better than the last time you saw you in the hospital. So, any problems at your school?"

"I was fine at school too. They're all good. Just..."

"What only? Just story! Papa promised not to tell your mama."

"Lho's? Which mama?" I just realized that my mom's not home.

"You're going to Aunt Yusi's house to deliver some food. You must have been daydreaming again. To the point of not even realizing your mama's out of the house."

Dad was right subconsciously I thought about Riri's problem again.

"Son, papa doesn't want to force you to tell a story if you don't want to tell it. But if it's hard for you, tell me, papa will listen and help you."

"Pa, I had a fight with my friend. I accused him of lying. I don't trust him. He asked me to believe. I also felt that he wasn't lying, but--"

"But everything you've seen shows that he's lying to you. Right?"

I'm nodding.

"It's true, to believe in something we need evidence, but in a relationship like parent and child, a father doesn't need evidence to trust his child."

"Papa will always trust you even when you lie though, papa will still believe. Because papa knows very well papa's child is not a bad boy who will hurt his parents. You must have a reason to lie. Such is the trust of parents and children."

"Trust is not built in one day, but it takes a lot of time and process. You and your friend are trying to build that trust, your heart wants to believe it, but your experience has made it hard to trust others."

"What should I do then?"

"Follow your heart, son. Wise people say it is better to regret having believed than to regret never believing. You know what that means? It is better to regret that we mistrust others so that we can learn from experience, rather than never trying to believe in others."

Dad's right, if I want to believe I just trust. I don't need to think too much. If I don't want to believe it, I just ignore it. Unfortunately, I am not one to ignore easily.

The next day I asked Angga to check the locker again. Angga placed his hand on the locker and concentrated, trying to sense the energy in the box.

"How sis? Did you feel anything?" my many.

"There's nothing. It's just a regular locker box" Angga replied. I've guessed. I also checked that there was nothing. I thought that Angga who checked it would be different.

I've heard voices from inside the box, but it's just a ghostly prank here I thought. That doesn't prove this locker holds an evil curse. If I want to investigate, I need to know the story about this locker.

I've been very careful to ask this locker story to the upperclassman. It's not hard to talk to them because they know I'm Angga's sister. There seems to be some good luck in being her sister. He was quite popular even among the third grade siblings.

The story is unclear. Some say she was a schoolgirl who had an accident when caught stealing. Some say he was a bully. He committed suicide by jumping off the roof of a school building. Don't know which is right.

What fits those stories is the owner of this locker a student who died with a face full of wounds.
