Get lost

The last night camping event is a night tour or night squeals. Some kind of courage test. We will be divided into groups of three people.

We are required to visit every post and request items that are already on our list. Of course along the way our teachers and seniors help keep an eye out for lost children. With flashlights and floor plans we walked down a dark path.

Along the way we will also be tested for his courage. They range from scary noises to strange objects hanging from trees or placed in bushes.

I knew it was all fake. It's all just senior games. But still a lot of screaming in fear even some are crying. One of our friends, Lisa. Along the way he continued to be frightened and repeatedly shouted whenever something surprised him.

Lastly, he fled because he was surprised by a skull that was wrapped in a tree. And subconsciously he was carrying a fake hand that was thrown from the bushes. He would probably scream again once he was aware of what he was carrying running.

I have to get a thumbs up, our seniors are very creative in making fake ghosts.

Dina and I continued our journey while following Lisa who had escaped first.

"I don't hear Lisa's voice yelling anymore, Is it possible she's lost?" ask Dina.

"It's impossible to get lost. The last post was only less than a hundred meters away. Maybe Lisa fainted or got to the last post first."

This is weird! It feels like I've been walking for quite a while but haven't found the post in front. The atmosphere was getting quieter, there was no sound except the sound of the wind shaking the branches of the tree. Dina docked to my side while embracing my arm.

"Hello! Is there anyone? Senior brother? Master teacher?" I cried, no one answered. Did they intentionally attack us? Or are we lost?

Did I just go back to the previous post and ask them?

"We just turn around. I don't feel good."

"What about Lisa?" ask Dina worriedly.

"We can't look for it alone. We went to the post before and asked them to help us find it" I replied.

We turned around and paved our way. But strangely the road we went through still feels foreign. It's been a long way since we turned around but we haven't found the post you just passed.

"Have we gone this way?" my many.

"I don't know. To me all the roads look the same," replied Dina who was still attached to me.

"Not just post, the skull of the toy that was hanging on the tree is also not there. And did we just go through the branching road?" I highlighted the forked road in front of us.

The road we were walking on should be a straight path without crossing. This proves that we are lost. Wasn't it! More precisely we are trapped in a path that should not be. Either forward or backward remains the same result. We can't get out.

"Se-now how?" ask Dina again in fear. It seems he realized we were lost. I took his hand off my arm. And sit by the side of the road.

"I don't know. I'm tired. I want to rest" I replied.

"Is it time to rest? We need to find the right way home!"

"How is it? We've been on the road since. Going forward or going back the result remains the same. Now better rest. So we have the energy to escape if something bad happens."

"Is something going to happen?"

"I don't know. Anything can happen in a place like this. We better get ready."

Dina squatted in front of me while covering her face with her hands. He looks frustrated. Actually compared to Lisa, Dina is still better. Even though he was a coward he tried to survive this far.

I'm actually more worried about him. I checked the compass in my pocket earlier. The pointer needle is screwed spinning indeterminate direction. We are not lost because we chose the wrong path. Right now we have entered an unfamiliar place and are trapped within it.

I doubt if they can find us. I need to figure out a way to tell them where we are. It's even better if we find a gap to get out of this place.

I looked up at the sky. The moon and stars are not visible. The thick cloudy sky.

Duk! Duk! Duk!

Sayup-sayup I heard the sound of drums being pounded. Like music.

"What's that sound?" ask Dina who heard it too.

"Let's find out!" take me. We continued to look for the source of the sound. My flashlight started to blink. The battery's almost out. Usually strong for days.

I had to find someone or a place to shelter before losing the only light.

My flashlight finally died just as we found something bright far ahead of us. Dina and I decided to approach the light source. I don't know what we're going to face up ahead, better than being caught in the dark.

The closer to where the light was, the more the sound of the drums was heard. We also heard cheers from many people. Is there a party? Or the stage show?

It turned out that the light we saw came from the campfire. Some people danced around it and some beat drums. Several torches were lit around the place.

At first we thought they were just like us, doing camp here. But I realized something was wrong with them.

The clothes they were wearing looked strange and they were all wearing masks. Are they local? And their dances, rather than celebrations or parties, they are more likely to be performing ceremonies or rituals.

"Let's go there!" get Dina excited.

"Wait!" stop me from pulling his hand back. As I looked more clearly I realized something more terrifying.

It's not a mask! That's their real head! Some of them looked like animals. While others I can't recognize the shape. They're not human!

"We need to get out of here fast. I feel this place is dangerous. They may be angry because they think we are interfering with their rituals.

"Ohhhh!" Suddenly Dina screamed in fear. The view goes through my shoulder. There was something right behind me that made her scream.

I dare to turn around. And saw them right in front of us. I retreated slowly away from them. They stood like humans and had human-like bodies, but their heads resembled horned animals. A cow? A buffalo? Or bull?

I can only guess in the dark. There's about three people. Maybe if I run I can break through to escape by utilizing my small body. I clasped Dina's cold hands. I was getting ready to pull it.

"Dina get ready to run!" I whispered slowly to him. But what happened was beyond suspicion.

"Bruck!" Dina collapsed before she could escape.

"Dina?"

Dina's defense finally collapsed. He was unable to stand up to everything he experienced and witnessed for himself.

While my condition is getting harder. I can't bring Dina who fainted running. What am I supposed to do?
