Followed by the Chaotic Creature
Tania

Tania, that's how they called me. We live close to and side by side with nature. Clean and fresh air. We don't have the luminous round object that humans call the sun. Our world is filled with beautiful sheen of light and abundant forces of nature. The people used to call it magic.

Generally our strength utilizes soil and plants. Our ancestors used it to fight and protect themselves. Not anymore. Our new rulers hated war and chose to hide from other nations.

So our power is used to build houses and make shields to keep our territory hidden. Our territory is not large, but it is also not arguably small for human size.

To maintain order, our rulers set very strict rules that all their citizens must obey. All are compliant, because we know very well what the consequences will be if we break the rules. We have been taught about the rules since we were very small so that we get used to it as adults.

However, I am a little different from the others. There is one rule I cannot understand.

"Don't interact with humans. Except in certain and urgent circumstances that have been allowed by the ruler. Isn't that a clear rule. Why are you asking that?" That's my grandfather's answer when I asked why our nation should not be close to humans.

"I just don't think they're that bad until they have to be shunned. There is no reason to fear them either. In terms of strength we are far superior."

"You are young. You still don't know the full extent of humans. Sometimes they can be very scary. They can kill each other just for fighting over a piece of land. Some of them even have abilities that are superior to ours." Grandpa started telling me.

"Actually once we had a long history with humans. Coexist and help each other in guarding the territory. Our nation also helps in human warfare. And therein lies our mistake. Our involvement in human affairs backfires for our nation."

"Why? What happened to cake?" Askaqua.

"At first we won a war. But gradually our enemies learned. They imitate our ways. Who would have thought they were cooperating with supernatural beings as well as they were even stronger than our nation."

"They are a nation that inhabits the oceans. Two-thirds of the world is water. Our strength is not worth them. Defeat on our part led to many deaths of our nation. Long wars put our population down."

"Different from humans. It takes at least a hundred years for a new birth. Therefore, even though our nation is long-lived, we are fewer in number than humans."

"Our relationship with human beings is more loss than gain. Therefore the new lord of the territory decided to isolate this world from the outside world. With it our nation can live quietly and peacefully."

I was a little disappointed because I liked the human world. There are so many interesting things I can learn in the human world. I even have friends in the human world. I sneakily infiltrated there.

Our other nation's ability, is a disguise. From childhood we learned about it. And I did a disguise to get into the human world.

I like to disguise myself as a bird because I can see everything from above. I don't like to fly during the day. The sunlight was so hot that it could burn me. I wondered how humans could survive under that hot light. That's why I choose to fly at night.

The cat is my other disguise. And this is what I like the most. All humans love cats. They are not aware of this animal. When I became a cat I was able to get close to them and get a lot of food.

From what I see, our nation and man do not have much difference. They need to eat just like us. It's just that the food they eat is different to what we used to eat.

Humans also need to sleep, work, and learn. They also take care of their bodies. That pile of meat and skin requires more complicated care. The skin is easily injured. Even tiny creatures called bacteria can kill them. What a pathetic creature.

Unlike us, who have a more subtle form. We don't have to worry about pain or injury, because we have the ability to heal ourselves. As long as the wound is not fatal we can recover it ourselves.

Because it is also my ability to heal other beings is useless to our nation. Grandfather said I was born special, while others called me disabled or deviant, because I was different from others. I'm not healing myself but I can cure other creatures.

I was one of the lucky ones to live for hundreds of years. I'm not disappointed that I used my powers to heal injured animals.

One more thing we have in common, the human world also has several regions that are restricted and led by their respective rulers. And each region has different cultures, ways of life, beliefs, and languages, just like our nation. It's just that we use more mind language for communication with others, a kind of telepathy. It was even more effective to talk from afar.

Gradually I became an expert disguised as a human and imitate their behavior. I also learned their language to make my disguise perfect.

Lili is one of my human friends. I met him when he fell from a tree and got hurt. I helped cure him. And I asked him to promise to keep this a secret from anyone. He also became my secret friend.

Lili used to take me to her house. His mother was very kind and friendly. He gave me sweet biscuits and warm bread. Human food is different, it has different flavors. But that's not what amazes me. The food was filled with many pleasant emotions. I felt my heart filled with something sweet and warm.

"Tania, don't you miss your parents?" Ask lili. At that time I was accompanying him in the river catching fish. In this season, many fish migrate. So this benefits the villagers to get food and more income.

Lili helped her parents catch fish in the river. In his family there was no boy so he had to do it. He did it without complaining, he instead enjoyed it while playing water in the river.

"Hindu? What'sthat?" I asked Lili, hearing a foreign word that I did not understand.

"It's kind of a feeling of wanting to meet or see them. Did you never feel that?" Lili explained.

"I don't know. I never saw my parents. My grandfather said they died shortly after I was born." Reply relax.

"You don't want to go to your parents' grave?" Ask her again.

"The tomb?"

"That's where the dead are buried. You don't have anything like that?"

"We don't have anything like that." I was confused to answer. Lily seemed to be thinking. He walked to the riverbank carrying his fish basket. It looks like the basket is full.

"Dad said there were indeed some tribes who burned dead bodies to save the burial place. Is your tribe like that too?"

"Emm, yes. That's it." I am confused as to what to answer? We do not have a body like humans. So we don't have to bury or burn the bodies of the dead.

Lili sat down by the river and cleaned her legs before we went home.

"What's this?" Lili cried to see something big washed away by the river, and got caught in the big rock in front of us.

"Lilly!" I pulled Lili from the river, so aware of what we saw. A human body with many wounds on its body.

"What's really going on up there?" Ask Lili.
