Chapter 95
POV Dina
Pi-pi-pi!
The sound of an alarm infiltrated my dream. Suddenly I woke up, and when I opened my eyes the figure had disappeared from my room.
My breath hunted like I ran out for a long time, while sweat dripped from the side of my face.
I hurried to reveal the curtains covering my bedroom window, still locked as I left it. I'm glad last night was just a dream.
"Dina! Getup! You have an extra class today, right?" My mother's voice called out from the dining room below.
"Yes, Mom!" sahutku.
"Hurry to prepare, then get down to the dining room!"
I've been haunted by nightmares ever since I watched the house burn. I was only 8 years old, and it was a hot day. The two-story building was completely covered in flames until I was pessimistic that someone had survived the fire. The hostess was lucky to be waiting for her husband in the hospital, but not for their child.
A few months later the owner renovated the house exactly as it was, as if the fire was just an illusion and never happened.
I went down to see my parents at the dinner table.
"What's wrong with your face? Are you sick?" ask my mom worried. "If you're not feeling well, I'll tell your teacher that you can't take an extra class today."
"Dina has to take this extra class, or she won't be going to class" said the father, putting the newspaper he had been reading. Then switch to looking at me. "What's wrong? Yesterday you were fine. Does taking classes on vacation make you depressed?"
"No dad. I'm doing fine. Just a little nightmare last night" I replied.
"Nightmare?" my mother asked while putting my breakfast on the table.
I took a deep breath before answering. "I had a nightmare about that house next door again, Mom."
"Dina, how many times did you tell you, the house is fine. After the renovation, the house looked normal even nicer than our house. The house was also not empty, there were still residents. So stop thinking it's a haunted house or you'll keep having nightmares." Mom scolded me, not looking anxious at all.
Mother did not understand how scared I was of the house, and its inhabitants rarely showed themselves.I silently ignored my mother's scolding.
After breakfast, I left immediately. My school is about a twenty-minute walk away. I picked up Lisa at her different house two blocks from my house.
This is the first day we take extra classes. I promised to see Riri and Eli in the cafeteria before class. I greet those who have already arrived first in the canteen.
Now it's a long school holiday, but the four of us and a few other kids are unlucky to be forced to take extra classes for two weeks.
Lisa and I are not very good at lessons, so it's not strange that we take extra classes, while Riri and Eli are left behind during their hospital stay.
Our school is pretty strict about academics. Students whose grades are below the standard of class increase must take additional classes and take re-exams on weekends.
Melya was lucky to have Angga to help her learn. One of the students with the best grades in school.
During the week before the test Melya studied at home without being able to go out. On the phone he complained to us about having to do a lot of things that made his head feel broken.
Even so he managed to get away with the mediocre value. Now he is enjoying his holidays out of town. Just like the other kids. Therefore, during school holidays like this, the city feels lonely abandoned by its residents.
"Gee! If only I had something that could grant a wish. I'll ask for no extra classes during the holidays and more holidays," lisa lamented lethargic.
Something like that might exist. Come to think of it, something that could not possibly exist always appeared in this city.
Suddenly Riri leaned over, then spoke softly and half whispered. "You know what the kids are talking about in school these days? In the craft room he said there was a living doll and foam talking at night."
"Thrilling! Is he just as bad as he is in horror movies?" ask Lisa.
"Really?" lisa's eyes began to sparkle enthusiastically.
"really. But the kids have to beg. Can't be adults. Maybe because it's a puppet" continued Riri.
"Some kids have tried to find it. But no one has found him yet. Weird, right?"
It is strange that such things are easy to find. If anyone found it, they would definitely hide it for their own.
"What if we try to find it too?" bring Lisa together.
Eli and I stared at each other for a few seconds. It seems like what Eli thinks is the same as me.
"Don't make trouble, Lisa. You know how lonely this city is now. If something bad happens who will help us" I said.
"But he said he wasn't evil. I think we're gonna be okay" Lisa said.
"Just because people say he's good doesn't mean he's really good. Imagine if a ghost appeared in front of you and told you he was a good ghost and wanted to be friends with you. Are you just gonna be friends with him?" my word.
"No! I don't want to be friends with ghosts. Why do you call that scary thing?!"
"Because you're just gonna understand that I set an example like that. Besides, I'm sure that the doll must be possessed by a ghost or something, because a normal doll can't possibly talk.
"Dina's right. The city had just calmed down for a while after going through a terrible incident. We'd better not get involved in anything weird again" Eli said.
Everyone agreed with what Eli said. Not long ago we experienced scary things.although we were lucky enough to survive, we do not want to experience it again if we can.
We continued our breakfast in the cafeteria. Because I had breakfast, I only bought a few light snacks while accompanying them.
"Ah shit! I'm going to the toilet. Anyone want to come?"
"It's still morning, Lisa! Which ghost would show up this early. Go yourself!" sahutku.
"Basic evil! You told me to go alone after I cursed to meet a ghost earlier!" lisa's grumbling at me.
"I don't swear at you!" He didn't listen to me because he ran away. It seems he can't take it anymore.
"we have to create a study group like a teacher's advice. A minimum of one group of five people. And be free from any class" Eli said.
"We're just four, less than one more member, do you have any advice?" said Riri. We all fell silent. Because we are not very familiar with other students besides the four of us. Even if there were, they would have made their own group.
Until her time in class, Lisa still hasn't returned from the toilet.
"What's he doing in the toilet? Why so long?" i grumble.
"Let's take him! All in class." take Eli.
As we were about to reach the toilet, Lisa's screams shocked us. Lisa was seen coming out of the toilet scared until she fell. We ran to him.
"Lisa, what's wrong?" I was worried to see him scared like that. Lisa pointed into the toilet.
I ventured to check inside. The toilet looks dark. I touched the wall to find the light switch. Damn the lights don't light up, it looks like it's broken.
The central toilet door creaked open and someone wearing our school uniform stepped out of the toilet room. I couldn't see his face clearly because it was dark. As she stepped forward towards me my reflexes retreated away out of the toilet.
Riri and Eli looked at me asking. I turned towards the student who had just come out of the toilet. His eyes stared coldly and his lips were expressionless. Part of his face was damaged from the temples to the cheeks and almost hit the eyes. The wound on his face looks terrible. And the way he saw us made us silent in fear.
I was the only one who recognized him. My knees were shaking but I could stand it. I didn't expect to see him here.
"Ce-lin...?"
