The full night looks beautiful with many rainbows surrounding it. However, my feelings have been uneasy since returning from the waterfall. This is not a good thing, because usually my gut feeling is never wrong.
On our way back from the waterfall, one of the students suddenly fainted. Everyone panicked and was shocked. But the teachers calmed down and explained that he fainted from soaking in cold water for too long.
Unfortunately it does not dampen the issues that arise because of the incident earlier. Some children argue that the fainted child has been bullied by subtle creatures.
"Is he really possessed by a ghost?" lisa asked.
"I don't know. I've never seen a possessed person." I replied indifferently, while tidying up the bed inside the tent.
"I want to look there."
"There's been a lot of people better not go there if you just want to watch," prevent me. "A sick person needs space to rest, too many people will just make him cramped."
"I think he was just a little hypothermic, because too long soaking in cold water so that the body temperature dropped drastically. So he fainted because his body could no longer hold back. Things like this happen often but people who do not know often exaggerate with stories that are not clear," I said give understanding to them.
"So, he'll be fine once the temperature returns to normal. The teachers must have handled it."
"What I don't understand is, why is he the only one with hypothermia? Are we going to the waterfall?" ask Dina to investigate.
"Everyone's body condition is different. He may be the weakest among us. Or indeed his condition was sick at that time," I replied.
"Easy! Don't talk about it anymore! Better get some sleep!"
What makes me restless is not the fainted child, but our current condition is not in order.
The student who passed out earlier was our old friend. And his other friend decided to accompany him tonight. So in this tent only the three of us remained.
In addition to the position of our tents at the rear among the rows of women's tents, less lighting. The teachers and the committee are at the health post which is located quite far from here.
I'm still thinking of the creature I saw last night. I hope he doesn't show up again. I pulled out the blanket and tried to close my eyes.
Ggkr!
"What's that sound?" I woke up with sleepy eyes. I was surprised to see a silhouette that was exactly like last night. The creature came again. Followed by the sound of wild animals moaning.
For a while he was just pacing around the tent.
"What's that?" I looked back to see who was asking. Dina and Lisa, they both wake up and see the shadow. They hugged each other out of fear.
"You can see it?" many ensure. They nodded.
"So, what is it?" ask Lisa again. "What is a wild animal?"
"What wild animal stands on two legs?" Hearing my words made Lisa even more frightened. He almost screamed. I quickly closed his mouth.
"Don't scream! The reason he hasn't attacked us is probably because he doesn't know we're in here. We better pretend not to know and sleep again. Try not to be noisy for the creature to go!"
They both nodded in understanding. I slowly lay back down.
The creature struck the ground and made its surroundings tremble. He looks very angry. He roared even harder.
I circled my eyes around, looking for things I could use for weapons if this thing attacked us.
"Kem-ba-li-kan!" The sound of the roar was increasingly clearly heard forming a word. I kept listening to him carefully.
"Kem-ba-li-kan!"
Restore it? What's 'return'? I didn't bring anything. What he's looking for. I turned towards Lisa and Dina.
"Did you pick up something today that you brought here?" I whispered to both of them. They stared at each other in silence. "The creature asked you to return it. Otherwise he wouldn't have left," I continued.
"I accidentally found this in the waterfall earlier." Lisa held out a doll of her own cloth shaped like a small, light brown dog.
"Why take it? Don't pick up anything in a place like this! Did your parents not teach you that?"
"I'm sorry, I thought this thing was thrown away. Because it still looks good, so I brought it to be fixed," he said with a sob. I think I scolded him too much.
"Don't cry Lisa, I'm sorry to yell at you" I said. "Next time don't pick things up like this. Because it could be that there's a 'owner'."
"But Melya, it's a child's doll. You sure, the ones outside are looking for this thing?" dina asked doubtfully.
Also true. I watched the doll. These are human beings, not things that creatures like them can possess. So why would he want this thing to come after us here?
"Prank!" There was a sound of something breaking outside the tent.
It seems like the lamp I put outside the tent fell was knocked over by him. It's getting darker outside. There was one more light in the tent.
We don't see the shadow of that creature anymore. Has the creature gone? Or stay there? The three of us looked at each other for a moment.
I ventured to open the tent gap a little and put the doll outside and then closed it again. We waited a minute. No sound of anything.
I opened the tent again, and saw the doll lying there. That thing wasn't there. I put on my jacket and took the flashlight. I got out of the tent checking around. I can still feel his presence somewhere near here. Is he watching us?
Dina and Lisa followed us out while carrying the lights.
"Has he gone?" ask Lisa. I didn't answer. Just then my eyes stared at the strange figure perched on top of the tree. The creature jumped over the tree and went away.
"Wait!" myrag. I unconsciously ran after the creature. "I just want to return this doll! You want it, right?"
I stopped somewhere. I lost track of him. Where is he? Why did he run? I flicked my flashlight up the tree checking around me.
That's when I light my flashlight highlighting a hairy creature standing on a tree branch. Her bright yellow-golden eyes looked at me furiously. He has cat-like ears and a long snout like a dog.
My brain thought hard studying the figure in front of me.
"There is a group that often appears in the story. Some believe it like a legend. One of those supernatural creatures that hates humans. Demon wolf. They are creatures that are difficult to communicate with. They tend to attack first rather than listen. They won't show up for no reason, but if you see them, run!"
Angga's words while teaching me ring in my head. I wanted to run but the creature had already jumped at me and pounced on me without giving me time to dodge.
