Angga POV
I dragged her away from that place even though she rebelled.
"Sister Angga! Listen to my explanation!"
"Other thing I should hear?! You went out quietly, late at night with an unknown man? What would your mother think if she knew?"
"He's not a foreigner! I knew him a week ago! He's a poor nice guy and I just want to help him."
"What can you help? You're just a kid! You don't know how dangerous what you're doing."
Mely jerked my hand hard making me let go.
"I know I can't help much! That's why I wanted to talk to you about this, but you never existed! I know I'm too involved, but I can't ignore the person in distress in front of me and pretend not to know. He's been going around here and there looking for his missing sister, do you know? He was worried about his sister but there was no one in this town to help him. The police can't do anything either. What's wrong if I want to help him with that little bit of my ability?"
Looking at him who was almost crying, I could not say anything. He ran away leaving me silent.
Why am I being like this? I know I'm depressed. I was afraid of losing him just as I lost our other brothers. Now it's just me and him. If anyone has to die between us, I hope it's not him.
After our quarrel I didn't dare to meet him. I don't want to make her cry anymore.
Sandy came up to me while I was resting in front of the class looking at the children below.
"I heard what happened last night" he said. "You have the right to worry and be angry, but your actions are dragging him away without giving him a chance to explain it excessively, Angga! You should apologize to her!" he gave me a cold drink.
"I knew. I was too scared. I don't know when I was this coward. Every time I see the bodies of the victims, I wonder what if the victims were not other people? what if the victim was my own sister? What am I supposed to do?"
"I understand, Angga. You're not the only one who feels it. Me either. Laila too. We're all the same. In this city, those with inner eyes were easily attacked by the ethereal Beings, and could die at any time. But your sister didn't know this fact because you kept it a secret. Protecting her while hiding that fact from her was an arduous task."
"Oh yes, Angga! Regarding the man named Jun, I've already found out about him. That's right what your sister said. This man named Jun had a younger sister who was ill. He took her to a hospital that he did not remember her name. Without realizing it he fell asleep and woke up in a different place. He could not find the hospital anymore or his sister. He has already sent a plea for help to the organization but no one has yet taken his case. Because we're all preoccupied with that serial murder case and the rain girl thing. Do you want to take the case? It just so happens that the guy wants to see you."
I can only take a long breath. Serial murder case, ghost girl rain, now the ghost hospital problem that holds the patient. Why do all these problems keep coming without giving time to rest?
"I'll meet him. Because I also need to apologize to him."
"alright. I'll tell the guy to wait for you after school."
After school I immediately came to a tavern, not far from school. That guy named Jun was already waiting for me there. I'm grateful he wasn't angry about last night. But I still have to apologize for my disrespectful actions. He also did good by taking Eli home.
"I'm really sorry for what happened last night. I'm too emotional."
"Thank you for trying to understand" I said.
He then retold about the incident that night.
"I understand. The organization will try to ask the head of the hospital. If he's there, he'll be fine. Because they never hurt their patients. We promised we'd bring him back. So please be patient and do not take any more dangerous actions. The city is currently on alert for a serial murder case. Anyone can be a victim."
"All right, I understand."
"I have one more request. Please keep this organization a secret from my sister. He doesn't know anything. And I don't want him involved."
"Yes, I get it. It's just that I'm surprised the people from the organization turned out to be so young."
I just smiled at her words. How else. We have no choice.
After he finished talking to Jun left. I still think about what he told me.
Evanian. One of the hospital members. A spirit that often appears in the form of a girl in a white dress wearing an umbrella. Is she the same Evania as the girl who was killed eleven years ago? If true then he must know who the perpetrators of this serial murder are. That's why he probably warned the victims.
But why did he only warn the victim? He could have taken revenge by killing the culprit. Or get the culprit caught. And why is she taking Jun's sister? I really don't understand. But I'm sure all this is related. I have to find the chain link before things get worse.
POV Melya
When I got to class, I went to Eli and apologized to him. Because of Angga I just left him. Good thing Jun delivered it. I haven't apologized to Brother Jun yet either.
"Mel, can you help me get these books to the teacher's room?" laila asked for my help. I approached him unsuspectingly and brought the books with him.
"Mel, I heard you had a fight with Angga, is that right?" he asked suddenly as we were on our way to the teacher's room.
"Know where? What's the Angga story?" I asked back. Laila laughed.
"Where might he tell me. Because he knew I'd laugh at him."
"You know, Mel. I always waited for him to make a mistake and make fun of him. Really am! He was so annoying to be able to do anything perfectly. And everyone's counting on him."
"Sometimes he is acting pretentious, even though our age is not much different. Sok giving advice. And love to ban this and that."
I didn't expect Laila to say that about Angga. I thought they were in close contact.
