Behind The Lies

Behind The Lies
Aruna's Request

Iyash closes the call to coincide with the arrival of the Doctor and the nurses. Last night he was rushed to the hospital because the hot lead penetrated his right arm. He didn't think the bullet would reach him. At first he wanted to dispel the hot lead so as not to hit Marissa, but instead injured himself.

While the Doctor was examining her, Marissa came in and stood next to the bed. If Iyash's parents hadn't asked him to stay, he would have gone home with his mother. He wanted to refuse, yet he also realized Iyash was like this because of him.

“Dok, I can already go home, ‘kan?” ask Iyash.

Doctor smile. “At least twenty-four hours after operation, Sir.”

“But, this is important, Doc, I have to go,” the sturdy guy.

Marissa was stunned, she felt Iyash's desire to leave had something to do with the phone the man had received a while ago. He did not know who was calling because when Iyash received the call the man asked him to come out.

“If for now not yet, too vulnerable, sir,” said the woman in the white coat.

Iyash took a breath. He then glanced at Marissa at a glance.

“Free a day, Doc,” says Iyash again.

The doctor was still smiling, but this time it was accompanied by a long sigh.

“I know exactly, Doc, my condition, I feel that I am fine.”

“Kak,” jolt Marissa finally. “Why, where are you going?” tanyanya.

“You are still,” said Iyash is cold and flat.

Marissa snorts. “Dok, if he wants to go, justin aja, risk him alone.”

The doctor smiled at them, a second later he and his entourage left without granting his patients wishes.

The doctor smiled at us, a second later he and his entourage left. I don't think the doctor cares either.

“Ngapain you here?” ask Brother Iyash.

“Party who wants to? If it wasn't for Aunt Ira asking, I'd have come home from earlier.”

“What are you doing here?”

“Ya. Don't ask for any help, if you need anything take it yourself,” snorted Marissa while taking a goodie bag on the table, she then waltzed away leaving Iyash alone. While Iyash himself was busy planning to go and fulfill Aruna's request. Even in these circumstances he is still trying to be the best for Aruna. However, this time is different, as a friend, not as an ex-boyfriend who still wants to be together.

At lunchtime Iyash managed to get out of the hospital. He used the time of the hospital workers who were resting. So none of them realized that the man in white was a patient. He even removed his sling arm just so that no one would notice. However, after being discharged from the hospital, he reused the hand brace because of the numbness he still felt.

At half-time, he was at the airport. However, coinciding with that, the hospital realized that they had lost one patient. They immediately contacted Iyash's family.

Ira was shocked to hear the news. He tried to contact Marissa, but there was no answer because Marissa had also left, the twenty-two-year-old woman asked Miranti to go to Surabaya to catch up with Edgar and bring him home.

Ira finally called Rahma to ask about her son. Who knows Iyash went with Marissa.

“Halo,” greetings heard after his call was answered. However, Ira did not answer the greeting.

“Iyash where?” ask Ira directly.

“Hah?”

“He's not in the hospital. The hospital just informed me that Iyash is leaving,” reports Ira.

The heart of Rahma. “Yes for mercy.”

“Icha where? Why is he so hard to contact?” ask Ira.

“I'm sorry, Ra. Icha go to Surabaya.”

“Iyash kicked him out of the hospital. So, he came home. Keep Miranti here ask Icha to follow her son to Surabaya.”

“Hah?” Ira's face immediately flushed. He tried to hold back his outburst of anger by taking a breath and exhaling it several times.

“I'm sorry,” regret Rahma.

“Why can Icha know Miranti?”

“Mirati is her cousin Ben, her husband Mila.”

Ira was silent for a long time.

“Ra, I'll try to contact Icha.”

Suddenly the phone connection was cut off.

At the same time Iyash just got into the plane. He looked for a seat that matched the number on his ticket. As soon as he found her, he immediately sat down, however, as he turned his head to the side, he was surprised to see Marissa sitting there.

“You?”

Marissa's forehead frowned. “Not the Doctor forbid Kak Iyash to go? What's here?” that woman's scatter.

“Loh, like me. You alone, what are you doing here?” ask Iyash.

Marissa folded her hands in front just like a child. “Likes-Like me.”

“You told Mama to stalk me?” accuse Iyash.

“Hah?” scream the woman was upset. “Amit-amit.” He tapped a finger joint into his own head. “Paid no matter how I won't like.” A moment later he got up. “Mbak,” call him on one of the flight attendants. “Can I sit somewhere else?”

“Can't, Ma'am. Except, anyone would like to switch seats with Mbak.”

The long-haired woman scratched the nape of her neck in annoyance. Then sit back. The flight attendant explained and asked them to prepare as the plane was about to take off.

Looks like Marissa failed to enjoy her trip this afternoon. Same with Iyash. This morning he kicked her out of the hospital, but was found there instead.

“One and a half hours, like it takes one and a half years. Old,” snorted Marissa.

“New plane flew about ten minutes,” timpal Iyash without staring at the woman.

Marissa took a breath. He then reached into the bag and picked up the book. He likes a book called Expectations by Edgar.

“The more mature, the more never expect, because the greater the expectations, the greater the chances for disappointment.” He read that sentence aloud.

“The expectation should be, as long as you have the limitation,” comments Iyash is calm.

Marissa frowned and kept the book out of her sight. “Why?”

Iyash turned his head, however, Marissa immediately turned and went back to reading the book. Instead of reading, Marissa was disturbed by Iyash's words that kept ringing in her ears.

“What kind of restrictions should I have?” the woman asked while keeping the book covered in dark sky away from her face, then she looked at Iyash.

“Man is free to hope, as long as that hope is hanged to God. People have limits, but God does not. With your hope in God, the chances of you being disappointed are slim, maybe even none.”

“Sok religious,” snorted Marissa.

Iyash smiled cynically. “Because God knows what is best for you.”

“Waw,” taunts Marissa while hiding her face behind a book.

Iyash himself was not so troubled by the presence of the woman. He knew Marissa was going to catch Edgar just like him.
