Behind The Lies

Behind The Lies
Uncomfortable

Iyash and Aruna went to Jakarta by train. Iyash's family, especially the father, canceled to pick him up because there was a lot of business in Jakarta. Gusman remained in Surabaya. It seemed that Gusman really could not bring himself back to the great city, for him it was the same as going back in time.

Arriving in Jakarta, Iyash took Aruna to his house. That afternoon Aruna spread her gaze around the Iyash residence.

“Mas Iqbal also lives here,” said Iyash as he placed Aruna's bag near his bag on the doorstep.

“Emang is okay?”

“Iya, you can stay here for some time.”

Aruna looked over and looked at Iyash. “Thank you,” he said not so good. He increasingly felt that people would consider him to be using Iyash.

“Nothing. Tomorrow we go around listing for the new campus. Ciee wants to go to college,” Iyash's tease while elbowing Aruna's arm.

“You guys when to get to?” tanya Hasa who also just came from the office.

“New, Pa. Oh yes this is Aruna.”

Aruna smiled kindly and kissed the back of her father's hand Iyash.

“Iyash has told me about you. Come inside-in. Which mom, Yash?”

“No idea, Pa.”

Hasa kept walking in and left Aruna and Iyash in the living room.

Iyash then looked at Aruna. “Run, you sit down first.”

Aruna nodded and immediately landed her buttocks on the sofa of the living room of Iyash's house. The house is so beautiful and looks so clean. Aruna did not know that there were seven servants in the house. One of them came to bring him some water to drink.

Suddenly a young man stood in front of her and stared at her for a long time. That really makes him uncomfortable.

“Kak Rasya,” call Iyash and the young man immediately turned his head.” This is Aruna, my girlfriend.”

“Gosh. Go home instead of bringing achievements, instead bring a girlfriend,” ledek Rasya.

Iyash knew that his brother was only joking, because everyone knew that Iyash was always the champion of the class every year. However, Rasya's words even weighed on Aruna's mind, her confidence instantly diminishing right then and there.

“Run, this is Kak Rasya, my brother,” Iyash said.

Aruna quickly got up and introduced herself, while Rasya just smiled and did not extend a hand, even with Aruna who initially waited for Rasya first, but Rasya was not interested in shaking hands with him.

“Where's the name?” ask Iyash.

“At Opa's house, because Oma is sick. You better go there tomorrow,” Rasya said.

“Yeah, tomorrow I want to go for a walk with Aruna.”

“Dating later, prioritize family,” said Rasya seriously and it makes Aruna realize that his arrival only makes Iyash away from his own family.

“Yes tomorrow I'll take Aruna to Oma with Opa.”

“Ya already bring it if it is important,” snoring Rasya while waltzing away.

“Kak Rasya!”

Iyash immediately looked at Aruna. “Sorry Kak Rasya if his words are not good to hear, Run,” said Iyash while sitting next to Aruna.

“Yes, it's okay.” As if it does not matter, even though Aruna is really made uncomfortable.

“I'll take you to room.”

“Hah?”

“Iya. You can sleep in the guest room, it happens that the room is empty, if there is a new stay the room is filled.”

“If Brother Iqbal?”

“He slept in my room, but Papa said he rarely came home. Likes to sleep at his friend's house, coincidentally while teaching, far he said if back and forth.”

“Oh.”

“Ya already yuk.” Iyash got up and got Aruna's things. The girl followed him from behind. Iyash opened the door and Aruna stared in front of him.

“Log.”

“Yash, I want to find a contract aja.”

“Pay from where, have mending you here aja.”

Aruna felt humbled by the sentence Iyash, but of course Iyash did not mean that, but Aruna suddenly sensitive after getting an unpleasant sentence from Rasya.

Aruna wet the throat. “I can work,” he said slowly as he went into the room.

“Work where, Run, find work in Jakarta is difficult, especially you do not have an acquaintance.”

Aruna realized that. In Jakarta he only had Iyash. What if Iyash goes to Spain? His father was right that he should not rely on the young man.

“Still, Yash.”

“Sama-sama. I stay first yes.”

Aruna nodded.

***

Early in the morning Iyash took Aruna to his maternal grandparents' house. He had no hand but Aruna's. Although it is not appropriate for Aruna to be said that way.

The motor stopped at Wahid's residence. Iyash went down and Aruna followed. He pressed the bell and a maid allowed him to enter.

“Iyash.” The young man immediately got a hug from his mother.

“Mama.”

“From earlier, Oma already nanyain you.”

Ira sighed, then smiled. He wanted to lecture Iyash because he shouldn't have brought anyone else here.

Aruna returned the unfriendly smile. As Ira reached out to greet her, Ira turned and grabbed Iyash's shoulder to invite him to meet her grandmother. “Oma already misses you.”

Aruna feels goiter. No one really wants him but Iyash. So he chose to go out and wait for Iyash on the deserted terrace.

Iyash himself is unaware of Aruna's departure. It was only when he was about to introduce Aruna to his grandmother that he realized that the girl did not exist.

“Where's aruna?”

Ira put her shoulders.

“Bentar, Oma.” Iyash got out of his room and went to look for Aruna. “Run,” call it.

However, Aruna did not hear because Wahid had just invited her to chat.

“So, Iyash bring a friend from Surabaya?”

Aruna was embarrassed.

Wahid smiled gently. “Whose name are you?”

“Aruna, Sir.”

“Aruna.”

Aruna nodded back.

“In Jakarta live where?”

“At home Iyash.”

“Loh, stay at home men. Not good, mending you find a place kos.”

“But, Iyash says–”

“Cost problem, let Opa pay. Instead of staying with Iyash, it's not nice talking neighbor.”

Aruna wet the throat.

“Run,” call Iyash after a few seconds of silence.

Aruna blinked and a bitter smile looked at Iyash.

“I cariin, kirain where.” Iyash approaching. “Opa?” He only realized his grandfather's whereabouts and immediately kissed the back of his hand.

“Yash, when to go home?” tanya Wahid patted the young man on the back.

“Barin afternoon.”

“Oh. Last week we talked to Aruna.”

“Oh yeah? Chat what?” Iyash then looked at Aruna who was just smiling clumsily towards him. Iyash was completely unaware that Aruna was indeed uncomfortable. Once again his father was right that he could not continue to depend on others, especially Iyash, even though Iyash was his girlfriend. Yeah, just a girlfriend. People who are attached to it because of a feeling. Not a brother, but suddenly more important than a brother.

“Ah, ordinary just acquaintance,” said Wahid interrupted. “Iya, ‘kan, Aruna?”

Aruna nodded.

“Have met Oma?”

“Already, Opa.”

“Good.”

“Oh yes, Run, I want to recognize you to Oma.” Iyash pulls Aruna's hand, but the girl's leg is restrained with doubt. He was afraid he would get another insult. “Why? Come on, Omaku is good.”

Aruna nodded and forced her legs to follow Iyash. Arriving in the room of his grandmother Iyash, Aruna sculpted. “Come, Run,” Invite Iyash enthusiastically. “Oma, this is Aruna tablets, beautiful, ‘kan?”

Aruna smiled as she approached her grandmother's bed Iyash. He then lowered his head and peeked at the back of the wrinkled hand of the woman who had been able to lie on the bed for a week.

“Whose name?” ask Oma slowly.

“Aruna,” reply Iyash.

“Iyash, Oma nanya this beautiful girl, not you.” The old woman's friendly smile warmed Aruna's heart.

“Aruna, Oma, Aruna Anastasia.”

“Good name. Do you hear your friend Iyash from Surabaya?”

Aruna nodded. However, Iyash quickly read the word friend. “She's my girlfriend,” says Iyash.

“Ah,” Ira rise, “you are still too small to date.” The woman then left as if she did not want to hear Iyash's rebuttal.

“Nnothing is still small, as long as you know the limits,” bela Oma slowly.

Iyash.

“Oma hurts what?” asked Aruna concerned.

“Asma.”

“Oh. Quickly healed, Oma.”

“Udah cured.” Oma smiled and patted the back of Aruna's hand. “You are beautiful, fast Iyash likes.”

“Iyash likes it not because she is beautiful, Oma,” like the young man.

“Lies, don't trust men.”

Aruna smiled. Since yesterday, only this time he was made comfortable.
