Sunday afternoon Ashilla had just come out of the mall after buying Asa's needs. Suddenly he gets a call from Iyash. His heart melted because it just remembered that yesterday he should have come to the hospital, Iyash must have been angry because he broke his promise.
“Halo,” said on the phone while driving while Asa sat down next to her.
“Why not come?”
Ashilla sighed. He thought Iyash would ask that. “Yesterday I couldn't.”
“Now?”
“Now I–” Ashilla turned to Asa.
“I'm waiting for you in front of the hospital.”
Ashilla took a breath again. “Oke.” He then closed the call and rushed to the hospital. I don't know what was the most influential of Iyash, why he wasn't struggling at all.
“Honey, we are not going home now,” said Ashilla while turning the direction.
“Why?”
“Mama no need.”
Asa raises her shoulders. “Oke.”
On the way Asa never stopped telling me about what he experienced today, he said that he was very happy because he could walk with his mother. Ashilla only responded with a smile.
“So, Mam, Asa tomorrow school list?” ask the boy.
“Ya, but because Mama has to work, so you list her school with Mommy.”
“It doesn't matter, I trust Mommy.”
“Good.”
Today's trip might make Asa feel tired, so the boy fell asleep in the car. Slowly the car entered the hospital area, before descending Ashilla looked at Asa who was so good and could not wake her because Asa liked to whine if forced to wake up from her sleep.
Ashilla got out of the car and Iyash was waiting for her. “Why not come?” ask Iyash without further ado.
“Yesterday I did not feel well, coming home from the streets I went straight to sleep.”
“Walk had time, but not here,” sneer Iyash.
Ashilla sighed. “I'm not asking you to understand what happened to me. I don't care if you get mad and cross my name off Lily's list of adoptive mothers. That's up to you. If my mistake cannot be tolerated, I will not make you accept it.”
“Not so mak–”
“Mama!” asa shouted while banging on the car glass. “Mama!”
“As?” Ashilla's two eyes fiddled to see her son locked inside. He quickly ran, followed by Iyash from behind.
“Mama-Mama,” call Asa panic because she can't open the door.
“Asa, please unlock it,” said Ashilla calmly. He looked at Iyash.
“Which key?” ask Iyash.
“Inside.”
“Why not bring. If you leave the key in the car, it will be locked automatically. If you want that you should open a little window,” Iyash's nag.
Ashilla took a breath and was not carried away by emotion when Iyash scolded her, but she was also wrong.
“Honey.” Ashilla knocked and tried to calm Asa who kept crying. “Calm down.” He gave a pause. “Inhale,” the door is soft and Asa follows it. “Exhales. Goodgood. Now, Asa pull the key there.” Ashilla pointed down the window.
Asa moves the index. “Here?”
“Yes.” Ashilla nodded and finally the door opened. He hugged Asa. “I am Sorry, sorry, Honey.”
Iyash stood behind him.
“Mama forgot,” said Ashilla as she clasped both of Asa's red little cheeks.
“As scared.”
“Iya-iya, sorry yes. Actually Asa does not need to panic, because Asa can already do it. If there is nothing to deal with calmly because if you panic, the slightest problem will feel heavy.”
Asa nodded and unraveled her embrace, she then looked up at the man standing next to her mother.
Another thing that amazed Iyash was his tenderness and wisdom towards children.
Ashilla rose soon. “It's Om Iyash, friend Mama.”
Asa nodded.
Asa looked at the mother who nodded at her. The boy grabbed Iyash's hand. “Fabian Abhyasa Wijaya.”
Ashilla smiled with relief. This is the first time Asa has introduced herself by her full name.
“Just call me Asa,” connect the boy.
Ashilla's lips kept on leaning. For him this was an advancement, previously it was very difficult to introduce Asa to people he had just met.
“Oke.” Iyash scratched the nape of his neck while looking up at Ashilla.
“As this is my son.”
Iyash stood up immediately. “Child lift?” muttered.
Ashilla smiled as she looked at Asa. “Birth child.”
Iyash's heart slipped and he stared incessantly at Ashilla.
Ashilla understands that Iyash is surprised to know that he has a child who is old enough. Ashilla has not been ashamed to show who Asa was, the baby never asked to be born, even from a woman like her.
“I looked at Lily first, and I tipped Asa with you.”
“Brought aja.”
“The age is only nine years old, can you bring a child into?”
Iyash raises his shoulders. Of course she didn't know, she just wanted to see how Ashilla treated the little baby again.
“Asa, Mama tipped Asa here the same Om Iyash is okay huh?” ask Ashilla. He looked at Iyash. “Om Iyash good really, if evilin Asa, later Asa said same Mama.”
Asa did not immediately answer and instead looked at Iyash for a long time. “Mom, I'm scared, what if I get kidnapped?”
Iyash laughed and turned to Ashilla. “Shil, do I look like a kidnapper?” he asked while pointing at his own face.
No doubt Ashilla laughed too. Apart from Iyash returning to say his name, he also felt that Iyash was not what he had seen at first.
“Now you explain, why did your son say that?” Iyash.
“Maybe your face is less friendly, Yash.”
Iyash took a breath. “Do you want ice cream?”
“No,” reply Asa fast.
Slowly Ashilla squatted down and clasped Asa's cheek. Sometimes Asa needs a more detailed explanation to feel safe. “Om Iyash this grandson of his friend Opa. She once nolong Mama when she drowned in the pool, she also never howled Mama when there was a problem and she once circled looking for Opa home address to return Mama.” ID Ashilla gave a pause. “He's a good person,” he added.
Immediately Iyash smiled to hear Ashilla mention all her kindness like a hero, let alone the woman closed her explanation with a sentence that was so proud of her.
“Are you sure?” ask Asa.
“Yes, I am sure.”
“Okay.”
Asa's calm face made Iyash curious and wanted to know more about the boy. What kind of man he used to be his father. At least that's what Iyash had in mind.
“Ya already, Mama is in?” ask Ashilla.
“Wait.” Asa held her mother's hand. “Is Mama sick so she has to go to the hospital?” He opened both his hands.
“No, Mama's healthy. Mama here to see baby.”
“Baby?” Asa's forehead frowned.
“Yes, later Mama explained to Asa. Just a moment, please.”
Asa nodded. “Just one minute.” He held up his index finger.
“Gosh.” Ashilla scrambled the top of her son's head and immediately Asa laughed amusedly. “Semenit where enough, Sweety.”
Iyash laughed too.
“Please take care of him, Yash.”
“Okay, Mom.” Iyash fused his index finger and thumb while the other three fingers were outstretched.
Asa snickered when she heard the man call her mother Mom. For a few seconds they were silent. Iyash has no talk and Asa has no interest in talking to adults.
