Behind The Lies

Behind The Lies
Frostiness

Marissa went into the room and was surprised to see Edgar sitting on the bed.

“Looks like we should talk,” says Edgar.

Marissa quickly closed the door. “What?” he slowly approached and sat down next to Edgar.

“You didn't say that Iyash was your future husband.”

Marissa flabbergasted. And he looks confused.

“Okay, I don't want to talk about that, it's none of my business anyway,” said Edgar. “Sorry, I heard you talking to Mommy on the phone,”.

Marissa nodded. He could not respond to Edgar's confession, because he initially thought that Edgar knew it from his mother directly.

“But, why? Why are you here with Iyash?” ask Edgar.

“He's the only one who knows the way here.” Though not like that, Marissa herself was confused by all these circumstances.

Edgar. He wanted to accuse Marissa of forcing a sick Iyash to drive him here, but he knew it wasn't that important to him. So he got out of Marissa's room and left.

Marissa herself was in front of the bed, while their conversation was heard directly by Iyash. The man couldn't sleep, even though the lights were turned off. From Edgar's conversation with Marissa, he was convinced that Edgar had feelings for the woman, especially when Edgar said that he hoped Iyash just happened to be present just like the others.

Iyash does not accept that he will prove that he is not coincidentally present in Marissa's life, but it was planned and even long ago, before Edgar.

Good competition, although the two never feel competing for what they want, while Iyash himself just trying to maintain what he has including a whole family.

Iyash immediately picked up his phone and called his father. The ringing tone so silent drowned out his feelings. There was still doubt in his heart, but he could not lose. That sentence made him sure.

“Halo, Yash, how, you are fine, ‘right?” ask Hasa on the phone after the connection is connected.

Instead of answering, Iyash let out a long sigh.

“Papa hear you–”

“I'm ready,” Iyash.

“You sure?”

“As per agreement.”

“When?” ask Hasa.

“Tomorrow. I don't have much time.”

“Good, when you say yes, Papa will immediately prepare everything.”

Without responding to Hasa's words, Iyash immediately closed the call.

While Hasa smiled looking at Ira. He and Ira agree to reconcile and repair their relationship, as long as Iyash wants to be betrothed to Marissa.

“Prepare flight. Tell Rahma to leave early in the morning. I'll call Rudi to ask her to prepare to be Marissa's guardian.”

“Iyash is not dreaming, ‘kan?” ask Ira worried.

“I did this for my son and I think he did it for our wedding.”

Ira. She had given up on her marriage when she found out that the man she had been married to for decades did not love her. However, everything changes when Iyash says he will obey the wishes of his parents as long as they do not separate, Iyash also says that he will change.

For Ira and Hasa, Iyash is everything. Although Hasa has a son from Miranti, but not necessarily Edgar would admit himself. Fighting for what has passed is no longer Hasa's goal.

Ira leaves the dining room chair and she calls Rahma. Third ring, missed call.

“Iyash agree,” says Ira directly.

“Hah? That fast? I haven't told Icha about this.”

“I know this is sudden. And Iyash has everything done tomorrow.”

“Ra, I haven't told you the same Icha.”

“Maybe you can say now,” by Ira.

“I know my son. Maybe after knowing, he will run away from there.”

“Then tomorrow. After dawn we leave. I'll prepare everything.”

“I'm confused, Ra. I'm afraid I can't convince my son.”

“We've already discussed that, Rahma. We love Icha so much, like our own son.”

Rahma. “Iya. I'll convince Marissa.”

“Tomorrow morning, we will pick you up and we can go directly to the Airport. Hasa already booked a flight.”

The next morning, Hasa, Ira and Rahma set off from home to the airport. Rasya with his wife and two children. At the same time after dawn. Edgar paid his respects to everyone except for Marissa and Iyash.

“Thank you for two weeks here. I feel accepted and recognized like my own grandson,” Edgar told Granny Alma and also Juragan Hartanto. “A few percent more, my novel is ready for print. I just borrowed a beautiful place and environment here as a background.”

Grandma Alma smiled. “We are proud to be a part of your struggle. Grandmother same Grandpa pray you always protected God, facilitated and especially you and your family given health and long life.”

Edgar smiled. “Then I pamit.”

“Eh, have you done the same with Icha?” ask Grandma Alma.

“Already,” lied Edgar. He knew that Marissa would not go home with him because she was busy taking care of Iyash.

“Ya already, be careful.”

“Often-often visit, we are also your family.”

The words of Juragan Hartanto made Edgar want to cry. He hugged the old man for a long time.

“You must already be at home here, yes, ‘kan?” alma asked Grandma while caressing Edgar's shoulder. “Then add one more night, Iyash's two parents will come and all Grandma's children will gather here,” said Granny Alma.

“Sorry, Grandma, I promised Mother to go home today as well.” After all, Edgar would not want to meet the man who had left his mother, even if only two seconds.

“Oh so. She must miss you.”

Edgar smiled.

“We can not supply anything, even for breakfast is not ready. How about you leave later after breakfast.”

“Later I can have breakfast on the road, after all until Jakarta can be at night, ‘kan? So, the morning the better.”

“Ya, you're careful. Next time play again here.”

Edgar nodded. He then said hello. He left the house with his vehicle. Meanwhile, Marissa saw Edgar's departure through the window of her room. He feels guilty. However, he was confused as to how. He had already explained to Grandma Alma, Edgar also already knew why he was here, however, it was Iyash's presence that made things complicated.

Last night Marissa got a call and Miranti transferred her some money. Although Marissa has refused in fact Miranti appreciates Marissa's work with treasure. And that's what makes Marissa feel humiliated. He did this in order to be close to Edgar, not even like he was opening services.

“Cha,” call Grandma Alma in front of her room door.

Marissa got out of bed and went to the door, and opened it.

“Edgar, go home and say he has said goodbye to you.”

Marissa was silent for a few seconds. Edgar did not say goodbye, but at least he knew Edgar was coming home.

“Cha?”

“Iya.” Marissa nodded.

Grandma Alma smiled. “Why he should go home, whereas the house is crowded he is here.”

Marissa took a deep breath. “So long she's gone, Grandma. Poor mother.”

“Oh is indeed his father where?”

If Marissa could have said that her father was Hasa. However, he realized that he did not need to interfere too far. The order is getting more complicated.

“But, grandma is happy to have you here.” Grandma Alma embraces Marissa's arm. “Home so scented.”

Marissa smiled clumsyly. “If there is a brother Edgar house so crowded, there is a house so fragrant Icha, continue if there is a sister Iyash home so what? Freezing?”

Grandma Alma laughed. “Iyash isn't that cold. Yuk, meet Iyash. Bear you do not want breakfast if not the handler who bribe.”

“Nek, but Icha–”

“Iya, Grandma knows. But, Iyash must take medicine.”

Marissa wanted to deny everything Grandma Alma thought, but she was afraid of making the old woman sad.

Marissa looked at the door of Iyash's room. While Grandma Alma had already entered the room.

“In the morning, the light of the sun enters Iyash's room. So, you can all sunbathe,” said Granny Alma. The woman then looked at Marissa. “Icha, come quickly, Iyash is hungry.”

Iyash himself just sat quietly on his bed. Perhaps his cold attitude made everyone doubt that he would marry Marissa.

Slowly Marissa approached and sat down near the man's feet. Then he took a bowl of warm porridge and began to feed Iyash. He is lazy to talk if it leads to tension and provokes a fight. So, it was better for him to shut up and conserve his energy.

Until the porridge was gone, there was no chatter between them. Iyash himself did not invite Marissa to speak, so it makes Marissa want to immediately complete this activity. Meanwhile, Grandma Alma sat on the sofa watching the ice between them. After Marissa finished feeding Iyash, Grandma Alma came out first and Marissa immediately followed.
