Behind The Lies

Behind The Lies
Ashilla and Space Wedding Invitations

Iyash sees the invitation paper on his desk. The names are Ashilla Wijaya and Angkasa Andromeda. Heart's smearing. Chests rumbling. He quickly picked up the invitation card and left the office.

“Where, Yash?” ask the father to panic.

“There is a need.” The man in the maroon's suit stepped with wide feet. Exactly ten o'clock he left the office and his entire job only to come to Ashilla and confirm everything.

The car is speeding up in the hot sun.

At the same time, Ashilla has been busy with company meetings about declining earnings for the past three months.

“It should be followed up as soon as possible, Mom,” Novia said.

“My time should be down directly?” Ashilla frowned. “Pak Yadi can not take care of this with the team?”

“Bi-can, Mom,” said Mr. Yadi as the person whom Ganjar trusted to take care of Warehouse and marketing.

“Good. I just need the report.” Almost three months Ashilla worked in a textile company owned by Ganjar, but he still did not understand. Even the company's revenue has dropped dramatically.

Not a few employees talk about it. Ashilla is unfocused and seems not serious in running the company. They think Ganjar is wrong for being too sure that his long-term grandson can take care of all this.

“Already I have to go, no business.” Ashilla then rose.

It's always like that, going in and out of the office.

“You why?” ashilla asked all the office divisions who were looking at her in annoyance. “It's done, ‘right? I have business. Later if I had time to come again here to see the progress.”

Novia sighed while bowed. Ten years he was Ganjar's assistant, never did his boss act as arbitrarily as Ashilla now.

Ashilla actually left the meeting room. He was sure that everyone in the room did not mind, after all he had too much business to prepare for his marriage to Angkasa which was only two weeks away.

While walking in the lobby, he was surprised to see Iyash blocking his steps. “I want to talk,” said the man.

“Sorry, I'm busy.” Ashilla took another step.

“This is important.” Iyash chased and held the woman's hand.

Ashilla sighed and stopped stepping. “Lily is none of my business anymore.”

Iyash quickly approached and stood in front of him. “Not that, but about this.” He took out an invitation card from his suit pocket and showed it to Ashilla.

“You've received? Thank goodness don't forget to come.”

“I can't accept your marriage with Angkasa.”

“Hah?” The woman's forehead wiggled. “What is your business? We are not partners in any case.”

“Please don't act like this again. When are you going to be like this?”

“Means?”

“Stop pretending to be someone else.”

Ashilla threw away face.

“You think I don't know?”

“What do you know about me?” challenge Ashilla. “Nothing. You don't know anything about me.”

“Run, please.” Iyash held Ashilla's hand.

“Iyash!” Ashilla brushed off the man's hand. “You should stop pretending because I'm sure you know that I'm not Aruna,” Ashilla said. “I'm not him. If my face looks like her, it doesn't mean I'm her. I've been crazy enough all this time.”

Iyash. “I'm sorry for the incident that time.”

“Enough! I have too much business and I cannot take care of something that is not my business.” Ashilla then walked away.

Iyash's heart is beating. He continues to chase Ashilla all the way to the parking lot, but the woman ignores him and darts away in a silver fortune-teller.

“Aruna!” shout Iyash. Ever since the events of ten years ago, Iyash had become insane, he kept hoping that Aruna would return to him. However, he did not expect that Aruna would forget about it and did not forgive him for the incident.

“Building already, invitation already, fittings already. Your turn.” Ashilla squeezed her back into the back of the chair and left the book lying on the table.

Angkasa pulled the book and looked at it, while Angkasa was busy thinking, Ashilla held out a hand at the waiter to order a drink. “Cappucino ice.”

The waiter nodded. “There again?”

“Already.”

“Good, awaited, Ma'am.”

Lucky Space did not hear his murmur. If he knows, it could be a matter of contention.

“Tante Ira, ‘kan catering business, keep his son-in-law have WO. Let's use their services.”

“What?” Both of Ashilla's eyes were puffed up. He just met his son and now he has to deal with his mother. “Ngak-no,” he said while raising his face.

“Indeed why?” ask Angkasa wonder.

“Why should Aunt Ira, why not the others?”

“Whose other is it? Do you have any acquaintances?”

“Ngot have to be acquaintances, many WO services, catering moreover,” snickered Ashilla.

“No time. Our marriage is near. Now I'm asking, why Aunty Ira?”

Ashilla termangu's. He couldn't have said that he didn't like Iyash's mother because of her judes. He still remembers how Ira treated him.

“If this is an Iyash problem. It has nothing to do with him, I told you that I wanted Aunt Ira to play a role in my marriage, so what's wrong?” Space seems serious about his words.

“She can come as an invited guest,” Ashilla proposal.

Space was silent for a moment.

“We can ask for help–” Ashilla's throat choked, her brain suddenly dead-end. He forgot that since moving to New York he's cut all his friendships off.

“Whose help?”

“You sure Aunt Ira can help?” ask Ashilla.

“I'm this–” Space pointed at her own chest. “Already considered the same child Aunt Ira, I've told you everything the same you.”

Ashilla is bored, Angkasa will definitely repeat all the boring stories again. “Yes already, it's okay. It's up to you.”

“Later in the afternoon I'll see Aunt Ira.”

“Serah.” Ashilla turned the eyeball.

“You are that. This is our wedding, don't act like you don't care.”

“Udah ah.” Ashilla tidied up her bag. “I have to go back to the office. “You take care of it, everyone, anyway I know it's done.”

“Loh, Shill?” Space tried to hold the woman's departure.

“My work is a lot. Two weeks before the wedding, but I still have to take care of Opa's office. You should have understood. I'm driving myself to whatever others want.”

“How do you mean? Other guy? This is our wedding.”

“Iya-iya. It's the thousandth time you say it.”

“Lebay you,” snorted Space.

“I'm not lebay. Today I really stress.” Of course, Iyash's unfinished office affairs came and accused him of a no-no.

“Sayang ..” Space tried to calm down, if it wasn't her who calmed Ashilla, then who?

Ashilla sighed, then circulated a glance. “Old coffee. There is no point in waiting. I have to get back to the office.” Ashilla rose up followed by Space. The man paid for his coffee, but it didn't belong to Ashilla.

As he walked towards the exit, the waiter called out to him. “Mbak, coffee.”

“I don't pay for coffee whose manufacture takes almost twenty minutes!” ashilla said as she stepped out.

“Sorry, Ma'am earlier our machine jammed,” shoot the waiter.

“I'm not your boss, so, there's no need for you to complain to me.”

Space clenched both of his hands. “Sorry, Ma'am.”

While Ashilla left with wide strides towards the parking lot. Angkasa always feels guilty with Ashilla's bad mood, even though it's not his responsibility because he can't control everything himself.

“Honey, you are calm, we can talk about this carefully,” said Angaksa while tapping on the glass of Ashilla's car.

Ashilla lowered the window of her car. “Other times don't ask me to meet at work hours, I'm a busy person,” Ashilla said annoyedly.

Space stumbled. He was not surprised, if the early stay in Jakarta Ashilla much silent, even look more calm, it was because he did not want to find trouble, especially in a new place. And, yes ..the woman would rather look for trouble with him.

The car sped away while the Space pegged for up to a few seconds. Her stepmother said that before the wedding there was always a problem, whether it was a trivial problem that was never even questioned at all, but before the wedding all became very important, including things that have never been noticed before.
