Behind The Lies

Behind The Lies
Jakarta, RSCM

At exactly 17:45 they arrived at Gambir station and started looking for a taxi to get to RSCM. Aruna was complaining and exhausted. “I don't think it will be this long,” he said slowly.

Iyash just smiled in response. He knew this was the first trip for Aruna. Iyash should tell me how to travel Jakarta to Surabaya. But he was afraid of ruining all of Aruna's plans.

“Sorry yes, Yash,” he said after getting into the taxi.

“Nothing, Run. I'm happy to accompany you here.”

Aruna slammed her back into the backrest of the car seat. “What if there are no results, Yash?” tanyanya slow.

“Maybe we have to work again.”

“Far away come here I do not want if you do not get any info.”

Iyash sighed, he felt sorry to see Aruna like that. “Yes Allah, help Aruna find her mother,” Iyash prayer slowly.

Aruna smiled. “Aamiin,” said while staring at the young man.

Aruna was just trying to conquer the doubts that continued to appear encompassing her heart. Seeking the truth and proving lies. They hope that what they are doing will pay off.

Arriving in front of the hospital, they immediately descended. Time shows at 19:15. Aruna stepped into the reception desk of the hospital accompanied by Iyash. “Excuse me,” said the girl.

“Iya, Deck? Can we help you?”

“I want to find out about–” Aruna immediately reached into the bag and took a piece of photo, then showed it to the woman in white uniform. “ini.”

“What do you mean, Dek?”

Iyash just stood next to Aruna while listening.

“In 1995 my mother gave birth here, I just want to know where she used to live.”

The hospital worker nodded. “Where is your mother, Dek?”

Aruna shakes.

“If we knew where our mother was, we wouldn't have come here, Sus,” Iyash said.

“Oh. You're sisters?”

Iyash nodded while Aruna only fell silent. “I'm his sister.”

Instantly, Aruna turned with her eyes together and stared at Iyash. Could Iyash claim to be his sister, does Aruna's face look old?

“Please help us, Sus. We are from Surabaya, it takes all day to get here.”

“Your fathers still exist? She knows you guys are here?”

Iyash. “Sus, please help us.” He then reached for two train tickets for the return trip tomorrow. “We don't have much time. I just gave you time today.”

“Oh, so your dad knows you guys are here?”

“If not with his permission, I will not go, Sus,” timpal Aruna.

The lady with such a shoulder-length hair sighed. “What month, what date?”

“Twenty-seven May nineteen nine five.”

“Whose parents' name?”

“Goddess and Ridwan.”

“Wait here, let me try to find the archive.” The woman went to the archive room.

Aruna nodded, then looked at Iyash. “Why did you say you were my sister?”

“Yes if I said I'm your sister, sister would ask why I'm not in the photo, at least if I'm your sister, she won't do anything, right, ‘kan?”

“But, your face looks older,” said Aruna ketus.

“You are helped no?”

Sometimes people are always exposed to reality. And that's what Aruna was afraid of. Standing here with great hope could find an answer, even if it was just a sentence.

Not long after the nurse arrived. “This data gave birth here in the year one thousand nine hundred ninety-five. And these are the names of parents who gave birth in May.”

Aruna glanced at Iyash at a glance, then she received the data from the nurse. His index finger continued to search and his eyes looked at every name that matched the names of his parents. However, Aruna was silent for a long time and her index finger was held in the name of the husband and wife of Dewi and Gusman Wijaya.

“Meet, Dek?” ask Nurse.

Aruna did not answer and instead pensively pensively long enough.

“Run?” call Iyash slowly.

“Iya,” says Aruna fast. He wrote down the couple's home address on top of his diary. His hand shook, several times he miswrote and directly crossed it, then rewrote it.

“Thank you,” Aruna said as she closed the file and gave it back to the shoulder-haired woman.

“Still, Sus, I pray for a handsome, well-established and rich soul mate,” says Iyash. The nurse laughed.

They both left the hospital and stood for a long time in the parking lot. Aruna bowed and cried. Iyash immediately tilted his face to look at Aruna's face. “Why Run?” ask Iyash.

Aruna looked up at Iyash. “I didn't find father's name.”

Instantly Iyash frowned. “So you wrote what?”

Aruna gave the diary to Iyash.

“Whose address?” ask Iyash again.

Aruna quickly snatched her diary from Iyash's hand. “Antar me to this place, Yash.”

“Hah .. are you sure?”

“Antar only, Yash. I don't want to go home without getting any info.”

“You said you didn't find your father's name.”

“But, I found mother's name.” Aruna gave a pause. “Not finding father's name doesn't mean I should stop here.”

Iyash stared at how emotional Aruna was that night. “I know you're tired. I'll drive you tomorrow morning.”

“Tomorrow we want to go home,” said Aruna while crying.

“There's still time, Run.”

Aruna was silent for a few seconds, then crouched down while covering her face. Iyash sighed, then bowed holding his shoulder. “Run, let's eat first, you haven't eaten. While we ask people, who knows the address is close from here.”

Slowly Aruna moved her hand away, then nodded, she then stood up and walked next to Iyash. They went to the stall next to the hospital and ordered boiled noodles.

Aruna sat quietly on the chair. She covered her face with both palms. He was trying to hide his sadness. She just didn't want Iyash to see her cry.

Iyash himself is confused as to how, he does not want Aruna to be sad or think that he does not care about her. Slowly Iyash gently rubbed the girl's shoulder.

“I have to how, Yash?” asked Aruna without stepping away from her hands and kept her face covered.

“Follow your heart, Run.” Iyash paused and slowly Aruna kept her hands away from her face and looked at Iyash. “As you said we will come to that address to prove everything.”

“I'm just scared, Yash. Afraid of finding nothing.”

“Yes, I understand, Run.”

Not long after their order noodles came and served on the table.

“Eating noodles can be full longer because it takes three days to be digested by our body,” said Iyash.

“To be sure we can not fast for that long,” snorted Aruna.

Iyash smiled, he hoped that after this his relationship with Aruna became better and could be much closer than this.
