Behind The Lies

Behind The Lies
Must Rest

When Marissa was about to enter Iyash's room. Edgar pulled his hand and led the woman to the edge of the wall.

“I heard you came here to pick me up?” ask Edgar sure. After returning from the mosque, he heard Marissa talking to Miranti on the phone.

However, in contrast to Marissa's intentions at the beginning, now she just shook her head. “Persuading, does not mean fetching,” the woman said.

Edgar immediately let go of his grasp. Maybe he was overconfident in assuming Marissa came for him. What did Marissa and her mother talk about?

“If Brother Edgar can not accept Brother Iyash here, you should Brother Edgar go home because Mother needs more Brother Edgar.”

Edgar turned and was about to walk away. However, Marissa again said, “Nothing to regret. It's not Edgar's fault. No child asked to be born,” added the woman.

Edgar looked at it. “You know?”

Marissa nodded. “Sorry, Icha didn't mean to. Indeed Mother who asked Icha to come here followed Brother Edgar.”

Edgar took a breath. “Why did you–” Edgar's sentence was held when Grandma Alma came.

“Sugeng is calling Doctor Seto. Now you can compress Iyash first,” said Granny Alma while thrusting a basin filled with water and a small towel.

“Good, Grandma.” Marissa quickly went with the basin. Again he ignored Edgar, when in fact he did not mean it, only the circumstances that made it look like that.

Iyash was still shivering in the cold, while his body temperature was rising. Marissa quickly squeezed out a small towel, then placed it over Iyash's forehead.

“Kak Iyash forgot not to take the medicine,” murmured the woman was concerned. He did not forget that Iyash once said rudely and belittled himself. It was just that the events of that one night made him feel indebted to the man. Maybe if there was no Iyash, he was the one who felt the pain, or maybe because of Marlo's shot he was no longer in the world.

Marissa took a small towel from Iyash's forehead and wet it again, as she was about to compress Iyash back. Doctor Seto came with Sugeng.

“Who is sick, Sir?” ask Doctor Seto.

“My grandson, Doc.” Juragan Hartanto got up, then retreated.

Marissa got up to make room for the Doctor to examine Iyash. He was about to bring the basin to the kitchen, however, Lastri took the basin from his hands. “Let Mbak take it back,” said Lastri.

Marissa nodded.

“Before why?” ask the doctor while checking Iyash's condition.

“Kak Iyash out of operation, Doc,” Marissa replied.

“This?” The doctor pointed at the bandage wrapped around Kak Iyash's arm.

“She had a gunshot wound.”

“Oh.” The doctor was worried.

“Kak Iyash is not an infection, ‘kan, Doc?” ask Marissa fearfully.

“It does show early symptoms of infection, but, fortunately it can be treated immediately.”

Marissa's heart slipped until she felt her tears fall. If it wasn't for protecting her, Iyash wouldn't be like this.

Alma's grandmother turned her head when she saw Marissa crying. He quickly grabbed the girl's shoulder.

Marissa then looked. “Grandmother.”

“Nothing. Iyash is a strong boy. Ten years ago he had something worse than this,” said Granny Alma.

“The medicine is there?” asked the doctor after injecting antibiotics into Iyash's body.

“Leave,” replied Granny Alma. “It just so happened that my two grandchildren just arrived this afternoon.”

“Oh, so, this Iyash is still in treatment? Why did you get out of the hospital? Escape?” ask the man in the white coat.

Marissa could only be bowed to the accusations of Doctor Seto. It is not worth it because Iyash went away secretly.

Sugeng nodded immediately.

“I suggest Iyash stay here until completely recovered.” The doctor then replaced the bandage on Iyash's arm.

Iyash grimaced with the pain all over his body.

“Luckily you were quickly handled. Next time don't do this again.”

Iysah is aware that everything has consequences. Maybe this is the consequence of Aruna's desire to be recognized, want to look great and want to look okay. Ten years is certainly not a short time living with the shadows of the past. There is nothing wrong because life has its own peaceful path.

Juragan Hartanto smiled. “Maybe Allah rebukes you, Yash.”

“Bapak.” Alma's grandmother shook her head at Hartanto.

“Mom remember when was the last time Iyash was here?”

Grandma Alma nodded. He remembers when his favorite grandson visited. Exactly one year after Iyash went to Spain, even then to meet Aruna, from the moment he knew the news, he locked himself in his own world until he forgot how to open his heart.

“Our grandson does not have time for a vacation, even breaks seem rare, maybe sleep is also only one hour a day,” said Juragan Hartanto.

“Grandfather's right. No coincidence, maybe God sent Brother Iyash here to rest,” replied Marissa.

“Tuh, I hear? Marissa also agrees with Mr.”

“Iya. I agree with Icha.”

“Loh, not the same Mr?”

Doctor Seto smiled. “Tuh, Yash. You calm down, as long as you are here nothing will make you tired, as tired as you are enslaved to the capital.”

Iyash smiled faintly at Doctor Seto's chattering.

“Then excuse me, Sir, Bu.”

“Thank you, Doc.”

Doctor nodded. “Yash, fast healing. Later the medicine do not forget to drink.”

“Quiet, Doc. There is his future wife here, he will take care of Iyash,” Grandma Alma said while embracing Marissa's shoulder.

Marissa was shocked to the point of looking at Grandma Alma's face. However, her mother-in-law Ira did not see herself, the eighty-year-old woman instead focused on looking at Iyash who was equally surprised and even Grandma Alma's gaze and smile made Iyash misbehavior.

Meanwhile, Edgar felt excluded. He was aware of Iyash's whereabouts here, he was a nobody, even since his arrival to that place, he was only a guest.

“Oh, so? So, Iyash is here to introduce a future wife?” seductive Doctor Seto. “Good. Just maybe the time is not right.”

“Ehem.” Finally Iyash cleared his throat. However, not to refute, but to ask everyone to leave his room. “My head hurts, Doc, can I rest?”

“Sure. Then excuse me, come, sir, Bu.”

The doctor came out followed Sugeng, then followed by Edgar, then Grandma Alma, but, before Grandma Alma stroked the top of Iyash's head first while praying for him. Juragan Hartanto did the same thing, and then came out of Iyash's room. While Marissa was pecking in front of the man.

“Why are you still here?” ask Iyash.

Marissa stunned. He wanted to ask about Grandma Alma's words. However, maybe Iyash would be angry because the man must have been very tired.

“Let me come here again to give you medicine.”

“Serah.” Iyash closed his eyes.

Marissa let out a sigh, then turned off the lights and walked out of Iyash's room.
