Behind The Lies

Behind The Lies
Not a Wife Candidate

Iyash's footsteps were so fast that he was chasing after something that afternoon, even though Nadine was behind him. If Iyash's only goal was Nadine he shouldn't have left her.

“When do you want to accompany me to Makassar?” nadine asked as she followed the man.

Iyash turned his head and was silent for a few seconds. It seems that Iyash's consciousness has not yet fully returned. I don't know if he feels like he's dreaming of seeing Aruna that afternoon, but why at a time like this? When he slowly let it go?

“You promised, Yash,” sulk Nadine.

Iyash was silent.

“Yash?”

“Iya, later we find time.” Iyash opened the car door.

Nadine got into the car and put on her seat belt.

“Maybe tomorrow I can take you to Makassar,” said Iyash after sitting next to Nadine.

Why did the plan in Iyash's mind suddenly change?

“Wedding ceremony is when?” ask Nadine.

“Still a long time, there is still time if you want to visit your papi.”

“Let's go, I'm here to accompany you to the event, ‘right? Anyway later I have to fly again here, so go back and forth.”

Iyash was stunned for a few seconds. What Nadine said was true. He had asked the woman to accompany him to the Angkasa wedding just to make Ashilla think that he could rise up and there was another obsession in his life, but after seeing Aruna all those thoughts turned around.

“You know, there are more important things than seat belts,” Nadine said.

“What?” Iyash asked without looking.

“Consciousness,” said Nadine. “It looks like you left it with the woman earlier.” If Iyash had realized Nadine's jealousy, but unfortunately he didn't. Iyash's heart and mind could not change from his encounter with Aruna.

“I think the woman was jealous to see you with me.”

“Aruna,” exchange Iyash. “Name as Aruna.”

Nadine.

“Lain times I introduce.”

“No need,” reject Nadine quickly. How could he possibly want to get acquainted with a woman who had clearly rejected his introduction at the first meeting. “You didn't see that I was friendly, but she–” Nadine held back her words, but her heart was turbulent and felt coarse. “Bitchy.”

Iyash was stunned for five seconds.

“Usually such women are only friendly to men.”

“Ngak. That's because you don't know him yet. I used to think he was too.”

Nadine seemed worried to hear Iyash say that, she was sure Iyash's happy look was not for her and not for her arrival.

Before long the car stopped in front of Iyash's house, while Nadine looked increasingly worried. “Yash, I stayed at hotel only.”

“Loh, why didn't you tell me from the beginning?” Iyash looked upset. Of course he had gone too far to bring her here.

“I ...” Nadine gave a glance.

“Have already come here, besides I have another need, Nad,” said Iyash.

Nadine took a breath. “You said you had no other need than to pick me up. I haven't forgotten.”

Iyash went down and ignored Nadine's rapprochement. I don't want Nadine to follow him.

Iyash invited Nadine to come in. “You sit down first, I call Mama.”

Nadine nodded and sat down. It wasn't long before Iyash was back with his mother. “Ma, this is Nadine.”

“Oh.” Ira quickly approached and shook Nadine's hand.

“You can speak Indonesian?”

“Slight.” Nadine smiled nervously.

Ira looked at Iyash. “Diajarin Iyash, surely?”

“His original Makassar,” said Iyash while sitting down. “Until thirteen years old he grew up in Indonesia.”

“Oh.” Ira laughed a little.

“The mother was Spanish, but married again to a German and now she lives in Germany,” Iyash continued.

“Oh so.” Ira sat down.  “Befit earlier Iyash hastily left, it turns out to pick up a future wife.”

Nadine and Iyash sat at each other. “Ma, Nadine instead of–”

“Sri,” shouted Ira called her domestic assistant and cut off Iyash's explanation.

Sri tergopoh as he approached. “Iya, Ma?”

“Bring a drink to his girlfriend Iyash.”

“Mah, Nadine instead of–”

“Sri, all of you take out all the snacks and cakes, bring them here.” Ira did it again.

“Good, Bu.”

Iyash clucked because again the mother cut her explanation. “Ma ..” However, he still tries to explain that Nadine is not his girlfriend, but, Ira instead looks enthusiastic.

“Here stay where?” Ira asked Nadine. That woman really didn't give Iyash a chance to talk.

Nadine shakes. “Not yet know.” Although Iyash had already said that he would stay at his house, but Nadine wanted Iyash's mother who immediately gave her a place to live so she would not feel awkward.

“Kok don't know?” Ira looked at her youngest child. “Iyash?”

Iyash remained silent for quite a while.

“Ya already you stay here only.”

Nadine smiles. “Thank you, Aunt.”

“Call Mama.”

Nadine smiled again.

Last night Iyash heard his parents fighting over his father's past, who finally admitted he had another daughter before he married Ira, and that Ira was devastated.

Seeing the happy face of the mother this afternoon when welcoming Nadine made Iyash did not want to see his mother sad anymore. Let it be if Ira thinks Nadine as his most important wife-to-be Iyash can see that smile again.

“Why are you, Yash?” ask Ira.

Iyash. “I need, titip Nadine yes, Ma.” He then got up.

Nadine raised her face and looked at the man. He wanted to arrest Iyash, but there was no way, after all he had no right to it.

“Nad, you were here first with Mama, if there's anything you just say.”

Nadine nodded as Ira smiled at the two who were so harmonious.

“Mama take you to the room, you must be tired, ‘kan?”

“Nadine hasn't eaten, Ma. We ate at the restaurant, but she refused. Mama can, ‘kkan accompany him eat?”

Iyash is so considerate, it makes Nadine more and more can not be separated from her feelings for Iyash. Ten years he knew the man, even though he had returned to Indonesia they never stopped communicating. Iyash was always kind to her.

“You also accompany me to eat,” pinta Nadine.

Iyash stared at his watch. “No way, Nidu, I'm sorry.”

Nadine's heart smiled hearing Iyash call her by that name. Nidu is the call the father gave him. Iyash always reminds him of his father, the comfort Iyash gives is the same as the comfort and security he feels when he is with his father.

“I go.” Iyash pamphlets without further ado. Nadine admitted long ago Iyash was a stiff man.

“Yes already, Mama accompany you to eat,” invite Ira.

Nadine nodded and followed Ira to the dining room. While Iyash drove by his car to the orphanage. He had promised Marwan to visit Ganjar at the hospital. They heard Ganjar's condition is getting worse. Who knows, he also met Aruna.
