Behind The Lies

Behind The Lies
Preventing Aruna from Going

After camping, Aruna felt better as if the burden on her chest was gone. Now he is busy preparing himself for his departure to Jakarta and starting everything there. The plan is to join the Iyash family.

“Father feel that you are better here,” said Gusman in front of Aruna's room.

“So, I don't believe in Aruna?” asked Aruna without looking over and kept packing clothes into the bag.

“Jakarta big city, Son. If you can not bring yourself, just a little wrong you can regret.”

Aruna looked over and looked at her father for quite a while. “There is Iyash,” he said as he returned to packing the goods.

“Tak should you rely on him. I'm just afraid you're used to it until you forget how to stand on your own feet.”

Aruna took a breath. “Which may be like that, another month Iyash left for Spain for a long time.”

“Yes, I know you can. You also have to believe that Dad can send you to school here.”

Aruna clucked and stood up straight. “Fear Aruna met Dad's parents there? Or is Dad afraid Aruna met mom?”

“Not like that.”

“Daddy is more happy to get mercy from others and Dad is not happy with the affection of both parents Father himself? When do you want to live like this? What if one of us dies before we can meet the other family?”

“Astaghfirullah, Run, why should you say that?”

“Keep what should Aruna say?”

Gusman. Aruna's ambition is exactly like her mother's. “Tersubscribe.” The man left the child's room, while Aruna was alone in her seat.

Aruna felt that there was nothing wrong with what he said. Why should my father be angry? Aruna is too eager to prove it all. He wants to be the one who can elevate his father.

That night Gusman met Iyash at the home of Juragan Hartanto. He wants to speak as his father Aruna, not as his grandfather's worker. For Iyash this was the first time Gusman had discussed this with him.

“Father knows that Aruna has been depending on you.”

“Neither, Sir. Aruna has never depended on anyone, she is a person who is quite confident in her own abilities,” Iyash replied.

“Please do not overindulge him with luxury.”

“I think you misunderstood.”

“Father just don't want Aruna disappointed.”

“Father rest easy, I will not disappoint Aruna,” said Iyash sure.

“You are still too young, you should just focus on your respective goals,” suggested Gusman. The man had eaten too much of the salt acid of life. Getting married young is a bad thing, so she does not want Aruna to make mistakes like she did.

“If you can, disconnect Aruna and go home without having to take her away,” Gusman added slowly.

Immediately Iyash was flabbergasted. How could he possibly do this while all this time his relationship with Aruna was fine?

“Connect?” Iyash's breathing was a little heavy, as if he had just heard that word from Aruna's mouth. “Say breaks up only for people who fail to maintain their relationship, ‘kan, Sir?”

“You are still too small,” Gusman added again.

“We know, but these two years we are fine. You want Aruna to be hurt by breaking up with me?”

Gusman. He really is like a mirror. The turmoil Iyash showed was exactly like he was decades ago.

“Father knows you have a positive influence on Aruna, but, since with you Aruna has changed a lot.”

“It wasn't because of your own lies?”

Gusman's heart is breaking. The youngster now dared to go against an old man like him. “Yash, I know, I'm just your grandfather's laborer, but, please, give me your respect.”

“Father came here to ask me to break up with Aruna? Sorry, I can't, sir. I promise I won't disappoint Aruna like you ever did.”

Gusman's heart went back to the ground. It turned out that he really felt bad in front of the youngster.

“Yes, Sir, I know. I'm sorry I was so disrespectful, if you didn't ask me to break up with Aruna.”

Gusman sighed.

“Wan,” call Juragan Hartanto while seated. Not yet anything he had sighed as if he had felt a burden on Gusman's chest. “I know you're worried.”

Gusman lowered his head. He's nodding.

“Do not worry, Iyash can keep Aruna.”

Of course Gusman could not believe the snot boy, even though Iyash had always looked good on everyone.

“Hasa will help Iyash take care of Aruna like his own daughter.”

Gusman is still worried, he never entrusted Aruna to anyone other than his son Mbok Murti who used to look after Aruna when she was a child.

“Hasa's wife is also definitely happy with Aruna,” added Hartanto.

Ah, let alone that. Gusman is increasingly unsure considering how judges Ira every come to Surabaya.

“Wan, you don't believe everything I say?”

Gusman wanted to shake his head, but he knew that Juragan Hartanto must be saddened by his rejection.

“Iyash will indeed leave for Spain, but he has up to a month to help Aruna adapt in Jakarta, after which Aruna can learn to take care of herself.”

“Sorry before, Juragan, instead I am not sure about Iyash, but Iyash is too young to be given the burden of looking after Aruna. Sometimes it is–”

“Aruna is not a burden for Iyash,” Juragan Hartanto denies.

“Iya,” says Iyash. “Why do you think like that?”

“You might think Iyash is a selfish young man who is not independent. Although he is still young as you said, but look from a long time ago he never relied on his father's treasure, on my treasure. He's not even shy here hanging out with the workers, commuting by train, school by bike. You can ask them one by one, how humble my grandson is,”, said Juragan Hartanto proudly.

Gusman felt slapped, of course, the grandfather would defend his grandson, let alone what he knew Iyash was a favorite grandson.

“I'm just afraid Aruna is troublesome.”

“If troublesome has happened a long time ago, but what, we do not mind because all this time we consider Aruna our grandson. Or maybe you don't consider us family?”

Gusman sighed. It feels wrong if he continues to defend himself only for Iyash to let go of Aruna and let his only child stay here with him and stop dreaming about the city of Jakarta.

“I understand that this is just your fear. If you feel that way, why not just go with you Aruna to Jakarta? If you want later you can ask Hasa to find a job for you.”

“Juragan, I'm sorry. Maybe Juragan was right that this was just my fear.”

Juragan Hartanto nodded. “It is better that you go with Aruna, so that you are calmer.”

“But, maybe I should have believed.”

“Betul, you are right. Learn to trust your child.”

Gusman nodded. Initially wanted to make Aruna stay here, but instead he was told to leave, of course Gusman could not because there was trauma every time he heard about the city of Jakarta, Jakarta, especially if you have to set foot again there.”

“Already, you should rest now.”

Gusman nodded back. “Thank you, Juragan. Sorry to interrupt his break time.”

“You have been working on us for quite a long time and it is not a problem because only last night you reduced my break, the rest you work on,” kekeh Juragan.

Gusman smiled.

Meanwhile, Iyash had already gone to the room. He stared at the closed window of Aruna's room. Tomorrow is his trip to Jakarta and he has told both his parents, as well as Iqbal that he will go home with Aruna.

Ira refused by phone. However, it was not Iyash if he ignored his heart. For the mother Iyash was stubborn. However, Hasa was quite proud because Iyash always followed his heart, making it difficult for others to control.
