S2 \~ BACK

\~ Kalila's shadow never disappeared from my life. He still keeps shadowing my nights. I still miss him, I can't erase my love for him. \~

“We just broke up, Ngga.”

That decision was taken by Kalila when I say goodbye to her to go abroad to continue my study.

“Why? LDR-can you?” I still hope he changes his decision.

“ Anyway, we just broke up.” but Kalila still wants us to break up.

The rain accompanied his footsteps away from me.

I could only freeze when I saw the back of the girl I loved drifting away.

And can only be silent without sound.

I want to chase him. Hugged his slumped shoulders as if there would be no hope left.

But I'm too cowardly to do that.

I chose to leave him at the toughest times of his life.

Why am I so stupid?

If only I had chased and hugged him, maybe we were still together.

I remember it, today was his birthday. I deliberately postponed my departure so that I could celebrate his happy moment together. But Kalila would rather break up with me.

I bought her a watch as her birthday present. I want him to always remember me, as much as when he remembers time. But I didn't have a chance to give it to him directly. I decided to put the gift box in front of her house.

“Ayo Angga, we still have to catch the plane!!” Mama started to nag.

“Iya, Ma,” suhutku. I rushed back into the car and further away from Kalila's house. In my heart I hope he finds that gift.

When I got to the airport, I opened my phone. I sent him a chat.

Kalila Happy Bday.

I'm leaving, yeah.

I waited a long time, but in fact Kalila did not reply to my message. Until now, Kalila never returned it.

Once overseas, Kalila was the first person I wanted to call. I even numbered my parents for him. For news.

But the phone's dead. I thought it was only temporary, but it turns out that her phone number was never active again forever.

I can only give up and let go of my love for her.

At that time I thought I could, I could,

I thought I'd forget it, though,

I guess I can replace it with another woman,

I guess I can kill my feelings for her,

But, uh,

Kalila's shadow never disappeared from my life. He still keeps shadowing my nights. I still miss him, I can't erase my love for him.

Every night I think about going back to him.

Yes, I'll go back to him. I swear I'll find him. I will make up for all my mistakes. I promise to give her so much love.

“I love you Kalila, wait for me back.”

I studied and worked hard. Trying to shift his shadow by studying and working.

My hard work was not in vain. I have many awards in the field of graphics and animation. I participated in several world-class film projects, became an animator, and also a product advertisement. I'm fairly established right now, at least I can pay for my own tuition and living expenses.

It's been two years that I've been separated from her, and this sense of heart is getting more and more erratic. My heart crumpled as I remembered her. I continue to feel that there is something empty in my life, even though my current schedule is so crowded.

It seems that I can no longer hold back my longing for him.

“Ngga, this is not wrong? You want a year off?!” my guidance counselor was so shocked to learn that I took a very long time off from college.

“Iya, Sir. I will work at Maxsoft,”.

I actually want to go home because I miss Kalila. But because last night there was a job advertisement that tickled my soul as a Maxsoft-made game lover. I solidified my intentions and decided to go home.

I'm a fan of games, but what I love most is Maxsoft's online RPG. I always play until I forget time. Kalila used to grumble a lot because I forgot our date was the fun of playing games.

“Wah, what a pity. Your career here is said to be climbing.”

“I'll make an effort back, Sir.”

“Good, I wish you success. Quickly return Angga, you are skilled and deft asdos. I will miss you helping me teach.” The old lecturer patted me on the shoulder a few times.

Arriving in Indonesia, I went straight to his house. I wish he would open the door and smile at me. I miss her sweet smile.

It turned out that it was not Kalila who opened it, but a grandfather who had just lost his wife. The house has been sold to a pair of elderly who love each other apparently.

I also tried to contact one by one his classmates. They said Kalila dropped out of school after her parents died. I'm downcast, why am I so cowardly first? Why did I leave him?

Long ago,

He must be very scared, though,

He must be very fragile and hurt, though,

He must be very sad and lost, he said,

She must have needed me so much and I left her..

A week in Indonesia I spent for free. I was just circling around without any direction to look for his whereabouts. I made every effort but still I couldn't find it.

“Kalila, where else should I look for you?” my sighs listless.

I hope God will meet me with him. I will make up for all the guilt that has accumulated in my heart.

Krrnng... 🎶

The sound of a cell phone stopped my daydream. I lifted.

“Good day, Mr. Angga. I'm Aleina, Mr. Arvin's personal secretary. CEO Maxsoft.”

“Yes? Can I help you?”

“Master Arvin has received the resume you submitted. He wants to interview you directly.” he said from behind the phone speaker.

“When is the interview schedule?”

“Mr Arvin asks you to meet him in S city as soon as possible. I'll send you a plane ticket, the earliest flight. Mr. Arvin doesn't like to wait, so don't be late.”

“Good.”

After closing the phone, I went home. Clean some clothes and equipment. Put it in a cabin size suitcase. I didn't bring much stuff. I shouldn't have been there long.

The woman said a driver would pick us up at the airport to take us to see Mr. Arvin. A CEO of a large company is different, he can just as easily himself make people work whenever and wherever he wants.

But, that's the risk of being a cooperative slave. You must submit to your superiors, for they are the ones who give you life.

On arrival in the city of S, we have been awaited by a driver. He drove us both to the location designated by Mr. Arvin.

“This city although small turned out to be quite modern and clean.” I thought when looking out the window.

Along the way I chose silence and enjoyed the view. The sky started to dim slightly as it was almost 3pm. We didn't feel our purpose was in sight.

I got down the car and looked at the cafe. Sky blue and pink paint looks dominant, some other pastel colors complement the facade of the building. There is a colorful Neon sign forming the writing of Palette cafe. If Kalila saw him, she would really like him.

“That, Mr. Arvin.” Aleina pointed at an orange sports car that had just arrived.

A man in his 30s got out of the car. Turns out he's very young, I guess Maxsoft's owners are old, well, at least they're middle-aged.

He must have worked hard to build it all up to his very young age. Oh, or maybe he just passed on his parents' legacy.

“Arvin,” greetings raised. Not usually a boss shakes the hands of his employees first.

“Angga,” my regards back.

“For a long time no see, Mr.” smile Aleina.

“Hallo, Na. Can you get us coffee?” Arvin tells Aleina to go inside the cafe. We sat down at an outdoor table and started talking.

“You have a lot of experience in this industry, then why choose Maxsoft?” Mr. Arvin lit his cigarette.

“I am a fan of Maxsoft games,” I replied enthusiastically.

We talked for quite a while. This man turned out to be such an amazing person. He is not just a boss who likes to demand. Not seen also as a rich man's son who got everything instantly. He seems to have mastered everything, every detail in his company.

I could easily explain my vision and mission once I was appointed planning manager. I will develop old Maxsoft game characters and make them in new proportions according to the times. Well, it's some kind of remix. Because the old characters are even so imprinted on the first generation of fans of Maxsoft games.

“He won't give you the bill, Mr.” Aleina arrived and joined our chat.

“What's wrong, Aleina. She is indeed unique.”

“Each unique?”

“Owner of this cafe.” replied Mr. Arvin.

“You know him.”

“Out and in,” kikihnya slowly. Aleina also sniggered. I can only smile because I don't understand what the two mean.

“Let's continue.” his door, still with cigarette smoke billowing beside him.

“Sorry this is his coffee.” a waiter interrupted our chat, he delivered a tray containing three cups of cold coffee.

“Thanks, Kalila.” Mr. Arvin smiled.

“Kalila?”

What did he say? Callie? The maid's name is Kalila? I spontaneously got out of my seat. Looking towards the brown apron lady. The smell of coffee and parfun mixes. I smelled and tickled my memory. Yes, it's Kalila's perfume, I still remember it. Sweet and soft.

Our views meet.

I haven't seen him in a long time.

The girl who once filled my gray-white days became more colorful.

The girl who once listened to the guitar I picked up.

I loved her so much.

I always dreamed of meeting him again.

Back with.

“Angga..?”

“Kalila..?” His eyes look just as wide as mine.

Thank God you granted my prayers.
