Chapters 13. Sheep Satay

Felix, Marquess Filan and the guards searched the kitchen area and the servants' room. All the waiters and cooks are gathered.

"Who's in charge of making food for the palace family meal?" Ask Marquess Filan.

"Ha-servants and assistant servants, Lord Marquess." Answer a cook.

"You're the palace cook, aren't you?" Marquess Filan.

"Yes, Sir. Is there a problem with the dishes we made tonight, sir?" Answer the cook.

"Have you ensured the safety of all the dishes for the family of His Majesty the King?" The Marquess Filan.

"Already Sir. There were three maids in charge of tasting the palace family dishes before they were delivered." Answer the cook.

"Report Tuan. We found no food ingredients or seasonings that were damaged or contained toxins." Report a guard.

"Sorry Sir. What's the matter exactly?" Ask the butler.

"Food belonging to Her Majesty the Queen contains poison. Someone deliberately wanted to harm the Queen." Answer Marquess Filan.

The waiters and cooks instantly widened their eyes. They immediately knelt down with faces full of fear.

"Please forgive me, sir. It is not really us who put poison into the food of Her Majesty the Queen." Say them.

"Who's in charge of delivering food to the Queen?"

Marquess Filan continued to interrogate.

"Servant Freya, sir." Answer the butler.

The butler and the other servants looked at each other.

Marquess Filan and Felix immediately face King Alec and Queen Roseline.

"How's Marquess Filan? Did you find the culprit yet?" Ask King Alec.

"The culprit was one of the servants named Freya, who was in charge of delivering the Queen's dishes. But the servant was already dead after gulping down the poison, Your Majesty. His body was found in the garden behind the palace." Report Marquess Filan.

King Alec kicked the table hard.

"Did the Queen have a problem with that maid? So he holds a grudge against the Queen?" King Alec asked Queen Roseline.

Queen Roseline immediately looked at him coldly.

As Queen Roseline turned around and began to step on her feet, Empress Dowager Helene stopped her.

"Wait, Seline." Suri Helene's Mother.

Queen Roseline stopped and turned around.

"Can I come with you? I miss your cooking." Ask Queen Mother Helene.

"Of course, Mother." Queen Roseline replied with a smile.

"My son, I'm sorry I couldn't accompany you to dinner here. Because I'm no longer tasteful with these dishes." Said Suri Helene's Mother.

Empress Dowager Helene immediately went to follow Queen Roseline to the queen's palace. Countess Sarah felt happy because currently only the three of them lived in the dining room.

"His Majesty the King, allow the servant to serve you." Countess Sarah.

Countess Sarah stood up and was about to get some food for King Alec.

"No need." The King of Alec.

Countess Sarah stopped.

"I don't eat either. You two eat." King Alec.

King Alec went straight to his private room with Marquess Filan. Countess Sarah clenched her hands together while biting her lower lip. Baroness Yolanda touched her shoulder.

"Don't be sad, baby. You have to be patient. His Majesty King's attitude has always been cold since he was a child. The important thing is you never give up on getting close to her." Baroness Yolanda.

At the queen's palace, Queen Roseline was grilling skewered meat complete with her nut seasoning. The servants and guards of the palace helped Queen Roseline. The delicious and seductive aroma of the roasted meat of Queen Roseline spread all the way to the palace of the king.

"Where is this Marquess Filan?" Ask King Alec.

"It seems to be from the queen's palace, Your Majesty." Answer Marquess Filan.

The stomach of King Alec and Marquess Filan was immediately rumbling because it smelled the delicious smell of the roast.

"Does Your Majesty want to go there?" Ask Marquess Filan.

"No!" King Alec replied firmly.

"This grilled meat is really soft and delicious, Seline. It tastes different to the roast you've eaten before. You've always amazed me with all the food." Praise Queen Mother Helene.

Suri Helene's mother had already finished some of those skewers. Suri Helene's mother ate it voraciously.

"Mom was too complimentary. This is mom's lamb. His name is Sate Lamb." Queen Roseline.

Suri Helene's mother nodded her head with her mouth constantly chewing. Queen Mother Helene smiled happily to see Queen Roseline handing out her homemade food to the servants and guards of the queen's palace.

"I'm sure my Son will never have another taste for food. And suffer more and more when you smell this good smell of your roast." Suri Helene said with a soft laugh.

Queen Roseline smiled.

"Marie, deliver this meal to His Majesty the King and Marquess Filan. Go with Dean." Queen Roseline's orders.

"Wait for Seline."

"Let my servants accompany them. He will show you the secret way so that it will be faster to arrive at the King's private room. I'm sure the two snake ladies must still be wandering near the king's palace." Said Suri Helene's Mother.

"Good, Mommy."

"Have you heard? Go with the Queen Mother's maid." Queen Roseline.

Marie and Dean immediately went to follow Empress Dowager Helene's maid.

"Who are you suspecting, Seline?" Ask Queen Mother Helene.

"Seline doesn't know yet, Mom. Hope Felix's men find the culprit soon." Answer Queen Roseline.

"Then do it immediately." Excited King Alec who was impatient to taste the delicious-looking food.

Marie took one satay and ate it. Marie's face looked happy as she ate it.

"Is that delicious?" Ask Marquess Filan.

"Very delicious, sir. I never ate this barbecue meat." Marie replied with a smile.

King Alec and Marquess Filan immediately took one stab and ate it.

"This is amazing, Your Majesty." Marquess Filan.

King Alec simply nodded while chewing on that tender and delicious-tasting meat.

"Hamba resign, Your Majesty." Marie's words were answered only with a nod by King Alec.

King Alec and Marquess Filan devoured their sheep satay until the last stab.

"I'm really full. But if there's more, I can still spend it." The King of Alec.

"Hamba is the same, Your Majesty. Let alone the grilled meat, the seasoning is already delicious." The Marquess Filan.

Both men laughed.

As the night wore on, a woman wearing a black hood came out of the palace and into an unused warehouse with two men in black who escorted her.

Brak!!!

The woman kicked down the table that was there hard.

"How could you fail? It should be that this time the arrogant Queen has already taken her life!" Shake the woman.

"Please forgive. I do not know if the Queen has a keen sense of smell and knowledge of poisons. Luckily, I kept that servant's mouth shut for good." Said a man in black who was kneeling before the black-clad woman.

"Next lest our plans fail again. I must quickly remove the Queen in order to gain control of King Alec and the Kingdom of Cardania." Said the woman.

"good. Next, I promise I will never fail again." Answer the man in black.

"Oh so this woman's the poison spreader. All right, I'll follow all your games. I assure you, I will always be the winner." Inner Queen Roseline grinned.

Queen Roseline disguised herself as her shadow bodyguard. He is currently sitting quietly on top of the precarious warehouse to find out who the real culprit is.
